But what You think about the dynamic aspect of GTA V's mechanics, combined with LSPDFR duty system? I started to think about it today; I assume as big highways (and even many-lane roads in LS) of San Andreas, combined with some-sort-of arcade style driving COMBINED with enchanted cruisers and weapons ADDING TO this varieably forms of officers' assistance... Will make incoming experience very.. unrealistic, yes, but also no ,,first response'' style. I know, LSPDFR may be great mod (personally for me this is some kind of enlargement standard version of the game), but, for obvious reasons, it won't be the same, and I think even similar, to daily routine of officer in Liberty State. Maybe this attract many new officers to this site, maybe this will diversify and pimp the game experience. What if it will make gamers more.. careless in driving (wide, long highway pursuits), shooting (many new equipment with attachements, with emphasis on macine-guns) and approaching the citizens (again, this time shotguns)? I understand, everyone plays as he/she likes, and I have nothing to this, but... These are my conjectures. I think about fact, as LCPDFR will still stand the scene as more realistic and caution-needed simulator. What You think about it? I can specify my thoughs, if needed...

To the new patch that is coming this week he said

"I'd imagine this patch will break modding again. The timing is, how should we say?  Unfortunate?"

Sounds amazing, but tbh, I will wait as long as they want me to as I know it will be well worth the wait... :D

Sounds like LSPDFR was going to be released and then Rock star is sending out a patch that broke something. At least, that's my thought. However, as an owner of the steam version of GTA 5, I hope I can choose not to download the patch and still be able to play the game.

Or have I just completely misunderstood Sam's "hint" about release of LSPDFR?

You can disable automatic updates via steam, just be smart enough not to go "oo a GTA V update" and click install. Otherwise you're, hmm what's that phrase, ah yes... shit outa luck.

How are you supposed to launch the game if you do that though? I tried and the only options are "Always keep this game up to date", "Only update this game when I launch it", and "High Priority - Always auto-update this game before others."

personally, i dont really think that this update will break modding or at least not purposely. Rockstar stated that they were a fan of modding themselves as long as it doesent conflict with gta online. however they might update some sort of file system to prevent modding online and it might break single payer modding that way. either way there will probably be a fix on gtaforums.com. theres always some savior who uploads the last patch from the game that supports mods.

Is there any way to do it if you don't have the steam version?

I'm afraid I simply don't know how the patch is applied outside of steam. My best guess would be through the Rockstar GTA V Launcher. In which case simply block it from connecting to the internet via your firewall (if you plan on playing mods it's probably better you do this anyway)

There is a button underneath the download itself which disables automatic download of updates (you have to then approve the update to download) for some stupid reason it's not visible in the settings. (see example below)

You can also limit auto-updating in the settings to specific times, I would imagine setting this to "between 2am - 3am" or something and then switching your pc off at those times would be the equivalent of disabling auto-updates.

It's not the case of "it will break modding". By applying a new patch we have to rebuild things at the base level in order for them to work again with the new patch. Updates Rockstar release will always have the potential to break mods for a short while as a result, we just simply need to rebuild/update them in line with the new patch in order for them to work again.

I completely forgot how to block programs through firewall, do you just add it to the list and un-check it pretty much?

It depends on what program you use to manage your firewall as to how it works. But generally speaking you have to create a new rule for the executable, that blocks the inbound and/or outbound connection.

Smiley face indeed

It's not a patch, it's a content update. It's one of those free dlc's that have new stuff to them. And those have to be manually downloaded (I think). As for it's effect on modding, mods should be untouched. The update will only add content, not change content. Some OpenIV mods may be tampered with, but I guess we won't know anything until the update is released

Open the firewall and click "Allow a program or feature through windows firewall" (on windows 7)
then click on "change settings" (you need to be an administrator)
Finally find the program you want to block and uncheck it.

Possible to play LSPDFR Online? Please Answer!

We have no intention of allowing LSPDFR to interfere with GTA Online, as the RageHook does not permit it.

And sides, GTA Online isn't like GTA IV online where private lobbies were made for modders based on their mods, since this time GTA Online is literally its own entity Rockstar will be blocking out ALL modding attempts online so it is not like they could make LSPDFR an online thing anyways which is fine by me, I never used it online anyways.  But RIP GTA RP Clans, they'll always have standard GTA V mechanics and GTA IV online LCPDFR. RIP.  (Sad face for you.)
