  • Nothing. I'd either listen to it on Spotify or YouTube.   But yeah $2.29 is quite a rip off for a song. Normally they're around $0.99

  • Zero for me, I download youtube videos and save them to my camera roll.

  • Zero.    I've had the chance to speak with Corey Taylor and M. Shadows (Slipknot and A7X) and they both think it's a joke to pay for a single song. I've openly told them I've downloaded their songs

I used to think 79p was a fucking joke for a song, then when it went to 99p I flipped and now have Spotify premium. It's saved me literally thousands of pounds. The absolute most I would pay, on a regular basis is 79p.

Zero.

Although, it may be different among pop singers and country singers.

I don't think it is fair to say that just pop and country singers are the only ones who care about music piracy. There are plenty of bands from other genres of music that are very outspoken against music piracy such as Metallica.

And I bet they would say it is a joke to pay for a single song because they want people to buy the whole album. Personally I like the idea of being able to buy individual songs off an album, what if I only like 3 or 4 of the songs off of a 15 song album? Why should I pay $10-$20 for an entire album when I only want to listen to a few songs off the album? They also probably didn't care at the time because what could they do about a random fan coming up to them and saying they download their music illegally? Call the police?

Stereotypically, you really only hear about pop stars and country stars caring about their music being accessed legally. I'm sure other genre's have their artists that are the same way.

And of course I didn't think they'd do anything when I told them that. That's just their personality. They don't give a shit and are layed back about it.

I still disagree with that statement. Some of the most outspoken bands/singers are actually from hard rock bands (i.e. AC/DC, Metallica). I hear people from all genres of music say something about it but some of the most outspoken ones are from hard rock bands from the 80s.

Pirate life bby, being a pirate is alright to be do what you want cause a pirate is free, you are a pirate

Yeah, those guys are done for the most part with their career. They made their success when illegal distribution wasn't anywhere near as big of an issue as it is today.  There's a lot of artists today that aren't bothered by it at all. And then there's some that are. I believe it just comes down to why they're doing what they're doing. For the love of the art, or for an easy cashgrab.

At the end of the day, they don't decide the price. The companies do.

Unless they have egos to feed they have to realize that the rising prices for a song is outrageous.

PIRATE LIFE!!!

PIRATE LIFE!!!

Its kinda risky to do that to much in the states.I hear internet providers are throttling service if they find out. Every now and again seems to be ok "Cough. Cough. Top Gear UK" but for music and stuff i would rather just give em 10 bucks.
