I read about this incident somewhere (can't remember where).. Honestly i don't blame the governor for sending in the National Guard.. when a white cop shoots an unarmed black teen then there is a fire within the community.. when the cop is found not guilty for shooting an unarmed black teen.. then you've added fuel to that fire.. which means all hell will break loose.

It's going to be Rodney King and George Zimmerman riots all over again =/

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

I almost feel like this is getting blown out of proportion. *Sigh* Its unfortunate that our Justice system has the flaws it does. Something does indeed need to change. For cases like G.Zim's to go scott free and other cases of the stand your ground law getting prosecuted, is wrong.

My goodness, I wish people would remain calm about this situation and actually research the facts that have been given out about the case, violence is not the answer, if you want to get mad at someone, get mad at the flaws in our justice system.

I believe the people have had enough with the corrupt justice system and police officers getting away with murder which is why they are protesting to begin with oh and there were some cops marching with the protesters

I think the media is siding with Michael Brown and not even considering the officers story. Also, when they protest and riot to the point that the governor has to call in the national guard, they are basically contradicting themselves. They are mad about a violence, so they react with even more violence. Makes no sense to me. Keep in mind here that this is my opinion.

The wording is everything. Based on the physical evidence and the witness testimony that has been presented, I personally don't believe that "a white cop shot an unarmed black teen". Race should have nothing to do with anything, and the facts of the case provide indications beyond a reasonable doubt that what actually happened was:

A police officer lawfully used lethal force to neutralize a suspect that posed an imminent threat after committing multiple felony crimes and failing to comply with lawful orders to stop.

Those are the facts relevant to the case, and a court cannot find the officer "guilty" when he hasn't broken any laws.

...For cases like G.Zim's to go scott free...

George Zimmerman went free because as defined by law, he committed no crimes. Was he stupid and irresponsible, yes, but he did not break the law and you can't put someone in jail that is innocent.

My goodness, I wish people would remain calm about this situation and actually research the facts that have been given out about the case, violence is not the answer, if you want to get mad at someone, get mad at the flaws in our justice system.

^^^ This.^^^ If people would take the time to understand the facts and reasonably understand and apply the law, then no one would be protesting over this incident in the first place.

Personally, I'm all for justice and I respect the law and the process. If the facts turn out to prove that Officer Wilson violated the law or department policy, then he should be fired and charged in order to ensure justice is served. But so far, the facts and evidence indicate that his actions were well within his rights as a person and a police officer, and the bounds of the law, and these protesters screaming for "justice" refuse to even acknowledge the possibility that justice may have already been served.

I wish people who disagree with the law and think we need to change things would direct their frustration at the politicians that make the laws, not the police officers on the street that are bound to comply with and enforce them.

Considering that the pretty much all of the protests are based almost solely off of race, I do not support them, at all. I can almost guarantee that if it was the other way around, a black cop shot a white guy, none of this would have happened. But, that's all opinions I guess.

Also, the fact that there are conflicting reports of what happened, the kid was surrendering and the cop just decided to shoot him, or there was an altercation and the officer had no choice, makes me not want to take sides even more. But I know I do not support the protesters. People wonder why the police have riot gear and these armoured vehicles; its for the violent protesters that are throwing gas bombs, rocks, and other objects at them.

None of them went to History class and learned from guys like Martin Luther King Jr who did things violentless and still got the point across.

This is where a lot of people are misunderstood. When a White officer murders a Black teenager, the Black community takes to the streets and protests. If a Black officer murders a White teenager, the White community doesn't do anything about it. It's more of a community "issue" per sé. If Whites feel that a White person was killed unlawfully, then they should take action. This is why it appears that Blacks deserve some sort of special treatment, because they always take action; Even if that action is illogical.

This is more of a community issue. Most people are ignorant as to why the Black community is diminishing. Let's be honest here, no sense in sugar coding it. The Black community is going to garbage, it just is. I don't speak from internet sources, I speak from personal experience, me being Black myself.

Also as a fellow Black person (of the light skin variety), I see that the community is going to garbage and has been for quite some time now. Always degrading one another, stealing from one another, heck killing each other. Thats for humans in general. Why we cannot get along to help our fellow brother, whether white, black, yellow, green, blue, is beyond me.

Just want to put my two cents in here.... It honestly just seems like people are milking the "protests" to just commit unlawful acts. Just after the actual incident occurred, the community was outraged because an "unarmed" black teen was shot. Many within the community just began to create havoc in that area by destroying public property, endangering others, and stealing things. Not trying to be racist at all, and I totally respect everyone's opinion. However, I personally think its justifiable to send in the National Guard based on the behavior that occurred from the incident itself earlier on.

The biggest thing about all this is the fact that its their own neighborhood. They are looting, stealing and destroying their own town. I could see if they marched to some other city and starting all that stuff but to destroy where you live? Doesnt that only make it worse for yourself and the people around you? Whose bright idea was that?

What kind of adds insult to injury is that the shooting was (kinda) justified- the guy charged at an officer of the law with intent to injure or kill, and he responded with force. If he could he would have probably shot Brown in the leg to immobilize him, but didn't have time.

Also, my opinion (not trying to start a flamewar here or anything) but the media covering this has conveniently overlooked the fact that Brown had robbed a store beforehand and was probably looking to stash the loot when he got stopped by the cop. He was guilty as hell but the media holds him as a faux-martyr, which I don't agree with.

So I overheard two women talking about this situation, and omg listen to what this one woman said.

She basically said "see them white folks is smart, on a grand jury, it only takes 9 out of the 12 juries to make a decision and nine out of them 12 jurors is white, the other three are black and that's how that white cop going to get off".

What's shocks me most is that a sixty year old black woman said this! Facepalm

"I'm a marked man, so I'm getting out of here"

I am personally sick and tired of what has happened in Ferguson... They can't change what happened to Michael Brown. It already happened. And the protesters think what they are doing are helping, it isn't. So instead of throwing fire bottles and destroying and stealing stuff, help rebuild.
