Hey guys, don't see a lot of Sports related topics on here (as expected) but I do know there are a few here who probably have an opinion as do i..  

Born and Raised in the Baltimore area, and going to every ravens home game in the past 7 years, this hits me and my town pretty hard 

 

for those who don't know one of the top Running backs in the national football league was arrested over the off-season for Domestic assault / other assault chargers towards his Then Fiancee now Wife. Before, they never showed the video of inside the elevator where the beating happened. However they did show him dragging his unconscious wife out of said elevator. Which looked pretty shady when i saw it i was pretty pissed as there is NO excuse to hit a woman especially if you're someone that kids look up to, this guy was the face of the no bullying campaign and many charities.

and today so far its literally the only thing sports outlets are talking about and honestly i liked ray rice but after this i hope the ravens drop him at the very least at the most i would like to see an example be made out of him, maybe a full season suspension?? what do you guys think

lol, his contract just got terminated a half hour ago. Also I think it's too late for Goodell to suspensed him longer, he kinda bitched out with a 2 game suspension.

yeah im pretty happy he's now off the team didn't want to have to boo someone wearing a ravens jersey..  i think goodell is still in the hot seat now because he said he saw this elevator video before the suspension but now says he didn't while sources who witnessed him seeing the video say he just lied.. alot of drama going down

I Think people are generally angered by seeing a famous athlete do something this terrible (not the only one to commit domestic crimes greg hardy is another one maybe even a little more violent than rice's assault)   I Also think the way the NFL is handling this is a pretty hot topic

Not sure.. Mike vick was given a second chance so i don't see why rice wont get one.. on the other hand if someone was to pick him up it would be his 8th season which is a bit long for a running back so if he was to come back he probably wouldn't be all that great

That was am embarrassing loss. But in typical Browns fashion, "so close".

I don't watch too much NFL (I like college football better), but since I was raised in the Washington DC area I am a fan of the Redskins and DC has a rivalry with Baltimore so I don't like the Ravens. All sports rivalries aside though, this is unacceptable and the fact that he only got a 2 game suspension in the first place just goes to show how seriously Goodell takes domestic violence. Even if he hadn't seen the video before he made the decision he should have given a longer suspension. Who cares how bad the offense was, he was convicted of domestic assault. My view is that if you commit a violent crime you should be banned from playing in the NFL. I have no sympathy for people who think it is ok to assault another person, especially if that person is your spouse.

I'll add one more thing. It's kinda sad that you get suspended for half the season if you smoke weed, while beating your wife is just a "slap on the wrist"

Like I said GOLDDIGGER!  shes just upset because her husband is unemployed and wont be making millions anymore so therefore she will be broke. And hes probably pretty pist at her right now. I really think its sad everyone is making this guy out to be an angel who just made a "mistake". But if any man knocks a woman out like that and then drags her around like a doll,is a monster and always will be . Domestic violence is a cycle and If I was her i would have gotten out while i had the chance.
