Why can't I hail a taxi after installing the LCPD???

Featured Replies

My verson is GTA4 1.0.7

and I have not installed any mod except LCPD...

I can't hail a taxi and sit behind the driver after changing to LCPD MOD

And even I press ALT+P again to get off duty, I can't do that also...

No response when I press E button...

why? how to fix it?

thx...

I'll try to fix this.

Sam, I hope you are successful in fixing this issue, you would be helping me and this other dude alot. This is the only issue I have encounterd with this mod. :)

hello,

first of all, thanks to all who have been working on this great mod, i enjoy it a lot!

however, i have the same problem as the others, as soon as i start lcpd:fr i cannot use taxis as a passenger any more, even if i close lcpd:fr and save the game and restart GTA IV.

it appears that something is changed in the savegame, because even after uninstalling lcpd:fr i cannot use taxis in any savegame anymore in which i had started lcpd:fr.

i can only use taxis in a savegame in which i did not start lcpd:fr. i use a fresh GTA IV installation without any other mods besides traffic loader and some changes to the handling, vehicle, carcol, cargrp and weaponinfo files and some new cop cars. all the necessary asi, script and net files are there and the installation of lcpd:fr displays no errors.

if i can help in any way by testing out something or supplying my savegames i'll be glad to do so.

cheers

Yeah, I have this problem too, It isn't much of an inconvenience to me, but hailing a taxi IS a relatively reliable way to get from one place to another very quickly.

The traffic stop system uses the call taxi script.

Once you de-activate LCDPFR, for some reason the taxi script won't re-enable

That certainly explains a lot. I do remember that with 0.91, it was completely possibly to hail cabs, even while on Duty, but I guess with the changes made within 0.95 (mostly not to have drivers slamming into the driver while you check their licnese I would guess) it likely caused this to become disabled. I found that keeping a savegame before the newest version of LCPD:FR is not a bad idea. So if people want to use taxis, best I can say is don't save after you're done with your shift. Just reload the savegame and then do what you want to save (like the main game, or whatever else), or just make a seperate savegame for regular stuff and LCPD:FR.

Its different because the cars now pull over instead of stopping in the middle of the road.
