LCPDFR For GTA V?

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone, I'm just curious is there going to be a LCPDFR mod for GTA V? I apologize if this question has been asked before. I haven't had time to read all of the topics.

It all depends on how modifiable it is

Firstly no there wont. LCpdfr is for Liberty City, so it would be LSpdfr :P (I'm just playing with you lol)

Seriously now though, if Rockstar use better methods to prevent the PC release from being modified then the chances an LSPDFR mod would be made are extremely slim, if at all. If the masterminds in the dev team can crack through all the security precautions and can find a way to mod it it's then down to them if they have the time to create the mod for GTA V.

I too would love to see an LSPDFR mod in GTA V. But it is entirely dependant on if it's actually possible at the moment so don't get your hopes up until we know.

Many posts have been asked about this and the developers have already confirmed that IF GTA 5 is able to be modded, a mod like LCPD:FR will be made.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

To quote myself from another thread, this is my stance from the dev point of view:

A mod in a similar extent as LCPDFR largely depends on what R* will do this time to prevent MP hacking, as this has been their "reason" to introduce annoying internal changes. If they hash all the script names again like they did for later IV patches, it will become very hard to modify it. I'm also really interested in which DRM they use this time, this might have an impact as well. For instance, IV refuses to launch if IDA is opened for analysis. So basically, it's really up to them how fast a mod can be released, if it's as unencrypted as IV 1.0 was, there is a high chance of FR returning to Los Angeles, if it's encrypted all over the places and hashed not so much.

Also depends very much on how much time I will have at release time, since I'm working then already and probably won't have as much spare time for it as I used to have.

If modders were able to mod GTA V ps3 or xbox, then we could also pass through the security of GTA V PC!

You must not forget securing code/data on PCs is a whole industry and it costs companies thousand of dollars to acquire such software. This can't really be compared to consoles as there is no "direct" way for the (average) end-user to access the data, thus close to no attempts are made by the company to secure their code in any way. They rather rely on the security measures taken by  the system itself.

This will be interesting I wish R* would open up some and shed some light on the matter question, how many computers out there aren't moddable isn't that the biggest benefit for pc games? Me personally I play pc to have the ability to mod games and alter were I can I am however a noob in that area but its not from lack of trying.

Let the good times roll
