GTA V Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Featured Replies

throughout history every GTA game was modable so why you think GTA V will be an exception? even if rockstar adds a powerful restriction against mods, modders or hackers will find a way, it's just the truth. Seriously right now there's mods on console versions i wont be surprised if mods started working and if mods doesn't work on GTA V then I applaud rockstar for actually creating a game where mods are impossible but let's see what happens when the game comes out.

    LSPD:FR here we come :O

  • Apparently the footage was captured on a PS4. One can only imagine how it's going to look on highest settings on the PC. I need to build my new computer.....now. My 68 Mustang can wait.

  • I think it's best if Rockstar adopts the G17 Media Release Date Policy TM ; "Done when it's done!"

I still don´t understand why would Rockstar try to make the game unmoddable ... Seriously, what is gonna help them with that ? They´ll loose potentional customers ... At least speaking for myself, I´ll not buy the game, if there´ll be no options to mod the game, because I totally hate GTA V handling a car damage for instace ... And mods can change it ...

Gonna just have to wait and see fellas. Chances are, like LMS/some of the moderators said, that they're going to continue not supporting mods/modders, and making it harder for them even if it is a finical suicide to them. But that's just going off of what they did with IV, It could be wrong and be easy to mod, just wait and see. I for one can't wait until its released, I would love to see how nice it looks once I get a new PC and THEN worry about modding. I agree however that the vanilla game is pretty boring, the story wasnt interesting enough to me and the open world freeplay doesnt offer much.

Tell me why rockstar wouldn't support mods? They will get more customers, more customer buying more games = profit.

Jesus christ, they have already modded the consoles. If you can mod an unmoddable console, surely you cant be serious if you think the PC version will have a 420% modding proof game.

There will be mods.

And you have no idea of knowing that sir, unless you are in possesion of the actual game? + Rockstar does not support mods.

Okay, but it will probably be moddable, but rockstar is not fully against mods (except the hot coffee) because they have been featured on their newswire multiple times. Here is an example. http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/18541/zombie-invasion-mod-for-gtaiv-pc.html

I didn't say they were against mods, I said that they do not support mods.

Well, if they didn't support mods, why did they post it on their newswire?

That would have given the mod more downloads, and more people reverse engineering their game?

That is forbidden? Or is it?

- Victor

I think you misunderstood what I meant: They're not going to make it easier, or harder for modders (they haven't in the past). But they have no official support for mods, sure they can like them, but they're not offering support for them. They recognize them :)

Modders will likely find a way to mod V, that's true.

but R* will still try their level best to stop modding in V. Although they aren't stupid, & do check out the modding scene & mods that come out. If they find something really nice/worthy of showing off, they'll post it. It's basically free Advertisement for the game that way.

But that still doesn't mean they like it, or will not try to make the game less mod-able. It kind of discredits their team that worked on the game. (I think discredits is the wrong word, but hope you can get the sense behind it).

(A rough/vague comparison) It's like you did a huge, tough homework, working overnights for more than a week   & a classmate steals it & modifies a line or two slightly & submits it.   You would feel a bit angry & upset, wouldn't you?    Kinda the same thing with R* & modders. Modders take the original code & modify it slightly (more or less, depending on what you want) to do something else.

EDIT: Damn you ineseri! Ninja'ing me!

EDIT2: Guess I missed a lot while writing this, 3 posts, huehuehue

this is were i found the info finally back to los santos but hopefully they will make it much more stable than gta 4 so we can injoy lspdfr

As long as R* isn't the source of the release date, I won't believe it. Besides, it isn't "leaked". It's revealed by R* that it is coming out.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

Yes, it was revealed in the first post in this topic that it is coming to PC, Xbox One and Ps4. Saying that the release date has "leaked" doesn't really help. I know about the official R* sources, and those are the ones I stick to :)

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

it will probably be moddable just like the console version its funny to see people in denial but whatever I told you people it was coming to pc and guess what?...lightning will strike twice and ill be back on here saying I told you so...a lot of people will be getting the pc version for the mods

Probably being the keyword here. No one has any proof of it anywhere.

Now that the pc question has been answered, we can all expect people to predict, whine, shit their pants about the system requirements. Particularly the Graphics and CPU. I bet you it will be equivalent to Watch Dogs for Ultra settings.
