I have vehicle mods working just peachy for 'POLICE', 'POLICE2', 'POLICE3', 'NOOSE', 'FBI', etc, but every time I try to get a truck to replace the Patriot, my game crashes in essence, when I go to select it. All vehicles show up until I get to the Patriot, then the vehicle doesn't show, and my character can't move until I use the 'break' command in the command prompt in-game. At which point all distant textures disappear.

Anybody know why it's only this one slot that seems to be causing trouble?

-ENB
-ELSFix (forcefully shuts on/off AI lights)

I have that same issue with certain models in the polpat slot.  Some models bug out my game big time, I end up having to force start LCPDFR and calling for a car drop off in front of the police station.  In particular, I was having issue with the GTAV Granger model in that slot, and certain Tahoe models.

 

No idea though...I just switch to a different model.  Now mine runs without issue with the BxBuggs123 Tahoe PPV models (ELS) and NickieB models (hope I got the correct name), but crashes with other models.  So I don't change that model...the Tahoe never goes away or is replaced.

I have a similar problem with nstockade and pstockade.
Models I'm using are Yankee ambulance and MTL midmount ladder.
The vehicles glitch out and float up in the air and have no wheels, the game usually crashes in a few minutes.
I don't use LCPDFR or any similar mods.

I've tried both the Tahoe which worked fine in my standard GTA IV install, and a Ford Expedition, they both do the same thing.

I only play EFLC with LCPDFR, since EFLC is much better FPS wise.  I have my polpat and nstockade modded with little issue.  Strange...

If you lose textures that should be for high poly. You could try using a lower poly one if you have a low PC. Anyway you said all spawn fine, do you mean in trainer you first spawn all police cars then the Polp? Try only spawning the last one then.

Core i7 3770K, 6GB DDR3, GTX 670, Windows 8. It's not a horsepower issue. I don't use a trainer, I'm talking about the normal vehicle rotation. If you think it would help, I can try installing a trainer and spawning one that way.

It's not a semi-often occurrence, it's every single time so it's not a fluke, I'm afraid. I've also tried two models as mentioned above, the Tahoe which works fine in GTA IV and the Ford Expedition. It shouldn't be a model problem either. Something about my install of the game and my computer setup doesn't match.

I had a weaker PC prior to this one (AMD 955BE, 6GB DDR3, GTX 570, Windows 7) and I didn't have texture loss anywhere until sessions of play stretched out for long periods of time. I now have twice as much graphical memory, a stronger GPU core and a more powerful CPU and I can't use the last island at all without complete texture loss and my POLPATRIOT slot won't load high poly models.

The polpatriot slot itself seems ridiculously temperamental.  Some cars seem to load fine when placed in its slot, others will crash the game as mentioned in the OP - I've had plenty of experience with the "no model appears and the player character just stands there" glitch in regular GTA IV.

Well, My GMC Sierra - FDNY Battalion chief, uses the polpatriot slot, and yet I never experienced issues (and yet, the model is high poly).

I also had other models for polpatriot (before I create this GMC sierra), and same: I never experienced issues.

 

So, my guess is: not enough memory, or too many high poly car. Here are a few solutions:

-open the task manager, and close all unnecessary running task ;

-close all other programs (net browser, music player, etc.) ;

-try to add the car you want to use as polpatriot, for another slot (such as police, or police2) and see if it works: if not, it's a model problem.

Last suggestion for now: make a commandline.txt in teh main GTA IV Dir then write in it:

 

-nomemrestrict
-norestrictions
-availablevidmem 2.0
