Opinions on ELS

Featured Replies

i really like using els. But in my games i have put together ive found non els to be more stable and realistic(Damage and doors).I have 3 copy's of gta 4 on my comp, 2 have els because lets be honest its all about the pretty lights, but i have my hardcore mode game as non els. Because when i T Bond a peds car flying threw a intersection at 60 mph.I don`t just repair and continue chase that is a wrap on that pursuit.Time to roll in a RA unit to mend the pedestrians i just mangled into there Honda civic.Non ELS car have started to come out a bit more often. But you cant beat ELS selection. 80% of police models coming out these days are ELS.

  • I don't like ELS 7 because of the lighting patterns. They don't really stay the same pattern for long or it is a really simple pattern . My favorite for ELS 6 is A-07 and X-03. I also don't like how y

Go to the ini and scroll down to misc and look for sound fx and replace on with off

if you use certain coronas for non els they can look pretty cool...same is gunna work on els dot net which uses the default coronas but with more patterns unless the project was scrapped

OP, why don't you just try it out and see if you like it? Its not like its some massive mod to install or uninstall. It takes a matter of 1-2 minutes to install. I love ELS and have always and will always use it. I can't stand the default cars or their halogen rotator lightbars. Plus v7 gives modelers much more freedom with the light patterns and I love that because your able to go above and beyond than what you could do with v6. So I would say without hesitation to go with ELS and use it. Plus 98% of the cars that get released are ELS enabled cars, so if you want to use them your going to need ELS anyway

blackjesus - no at this time you can't remove or change the beep

Use EVCS(Emergency vehicle Control System) and you will be able to add coronas to every els light and have them like that + damage and no door bug.

ELS isn't a terrible mod, in fact: I like the idea very much. It's very pretty. The thing is, that is causes crashes with its constant reloading of parts and the fact that ELS-enabled cars are usually too high-poly for GTA IV.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

The door bug doesn't bother me at all and I've seen videos for EVCS and it just doesn't do it for me. I have to have that ELS look

I like ELS for only one reason.. Eye candy.

My dislike of ELS is how unstable it makes game play and causes so many crashes. I also dislike that it can't integrate properly with the game and the way it auto fixes every time it flashes It would be nice to have a system that gives the eye candy without the sacrifice of stability in game.

It pisses  awesomeness & shits greatness..

On a serious note, adds a lot of realism to the game, lots of cool flash patterns, plus, I just like lights, sometimes, I will just turn my lights on and respond to nothing, cause it looks cool, that is all.

I haven't played GTA IV in months (I tested a few of my mods out this week by playing for a few minutes) I am waiting for ELS 7.1 and hopefully it will be more stable than V7 and when I reinstall I will get LCPDFR 1.0 (I still get the "loader_loader" error) and hopefully it should work. Anyway, I really like ELS regardless the bugs, it adds so much realism to policing roleplay and it takes some realism away, I would try them out both and compare

Vanilla cars and lights for me. ELS is too unrealistic for me. I like my doors to work and to have damage on my car.

I play as LCPD based on the NYPD, so no shotguns or rifles, all my cars have vector rotators, and NYPD based LCPD skins.

I use the strobes mod, and coupled with the standard LCPD:FR lighting modes, looks very nice. There are a lot of really nice SLS cars out there, you just have to look.

My game is a lot more stable and realistic than it would be with ELS. Personally, I hate how popular it is. It makes the lights pretty, but pretty much ruins the rest of the game. I play for the game, not the lights.

People have too many opinions about things they know nothing about, and the less they know, the more opinions they have.

I've had EFLC for 2 years & have never even made it to the second mission, we DEF have a difference in opinion :)

I love ELS.

And ELS 7 runs really stable for me.
