Free Screen Recording?

(both free)

This isn't necessarily true: Fraps is only free to take screenshots or (circa) 30 second videos (ie. a trial). Bandicam is free to try (as is Fraps); however, Bandicam lets you take screenshots and up to 10 minute videos.

I use a new thing that just came out called Shadow Play. Shadow Play was made by Geforce so I don't know if everyone can use because you might need to have a Geforce GPU. If you want to see the video quality, click on the link in my signature and watch a new video of my cars and you can see how good it is. So if you can use Shadow Play, I would totally recommend it with its awesome features.

I used to use Dxtory that was cracked and it was pretty good but the file size after a short video was too big.

Open broadcast software is pretty good and can also be used for streaming, just takes some getting used to. :)

As far as i know only Cards with GTX are supported with it.

I would say shadowplay too. Nice quality recorder, built in livestreame feature, and lots of more features. And Its as simple as taking a guy to the station LCPDFR to learn

I used to use Bandicam, which I highly recommend, its a really easy program to use and a lot better than Fraps :P

But, at the moment, because I upgraded my graphics card to a 780 Ti, Im using Nvidia's Shadowplay

Cheers guys, I've looked at all the different suggestions and gone with Debut Video Capture Software.

Appears to be working well but I'm yet to try an in game recording.

Video's coming soon!

Fraps is what I use -snip-

You can BUY Fraps here http://www.fraps.com/, it's a decent software however I'd recommend Dxtory over it http://exkode.com/dxtory-features-en.html, it's the best payware capture software I know of.

Well Action or mirillis Action is another great software for video recording, you can choose when video is going to end and about 15 minute video of GTA IV is 5gb or smaller in 720p, but it's not that cheap.
