Peds get frightened just by driving past them.

Featured Replies

Every time I drive through an intersection there are always pedestrians there, even though I drive carefully, stopping at red lights, etc the peds get frightened and starts running away from me.

It gets annoying after a while and it's not very realistic.

Help?

Hello, what kind of mods are you using?

Some Alderney State Trooper ELS vehicles from GPM, PoliceHelper, LCPDFR 1.0a, Bravehearts Policing Script, Traffic Flow, IVDashCam and More Liberty V4.

I know that some NPC react to sirens, are these activated (even if you can't hear them)? The cause must be one of your mods I think, so I'd try without them and see if the same thing happens.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

Nope, even if the lights and sirens are off, they still run away.

EDIT: Could it be Mordeckis Siren Tool.asi? I'm gonna try and remove it and see what happens.

EDIT2: No, they're still running away. Could this problem be related to a handling error? Maybe the game thinks the car is driving on the sidewalk or something.

I'm not really sure, but I am pretty sure that it is a mod that is causing this issue. Do you have any chance of trying without mods?

Yeah I am going to re-install and see if it works.

I think it's the More Liberty City mod causing issue with peds.  Use Traffic Load instead, you can adjust the car and ped multiplier to get more realistic looking amt of ped/cars on the streets/sidewalks and doesn't cause lag.

You don't need to reinstall, just remove the mods manually.

Okay, but why do you think More Liberty is causing it? (Not questioning, just curious)

I'd be pretty scared too if I saw a doge with an Afro driving a police vehicle.

On a more series note, try using this mod: http://www.gta4-mods.com/misc/modified-peds-fear-f16846

Thanks! It worked!

Mainly because you have the same mods I have, although I run a few more mods.  The one I don't use is the More Liberty mod, I use Traffic Load with ped and car density multiplier set to 200 and 250 respectivly (200 is 2x the normal amt, 250 is 2.5x the normal amt).

Plus I think I read of the same issue with that mod at GTA4-mods...could have been here...can't remember.

EDIT:  With that said, I too am going to try the ModifyPedsFear, as the peds are always frightened easily.  Not as easy as you describe, but they run their lives for most any reason.
