Not sure if this is the right section, but I cant play GTA IV because when I enter the product key that Steam gives me it says that it in invalid. I tried doing what it says on this forum: http://steamcommunity.com/app/12210/discussions/0/846939615072555530/ but I cant get into GFWL. When I start it up it says " Connection Error. Cant start the program, there may be a problem with your internet connection or the LIVE service."

 

I have reinstalled GFWL and still the same error. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I personally don't use steam because its a pain in the ass, I tried playing GTA IV on steam and it was giving me a bunch of errors and problems, so I just bought a disk  but and I think you can only use the product key once on one account

that's good to know, might  end up buying the disk.

I always get games on disks that are modded 

this would be more of an issue to take up with Steam Support. I've never had any issues with any games on Steam. I love it personally.

This is a problem with Steam. i was looking at their website because I am having problems with my GTA IV from Best Buy and I was going to buy it from Steam. But Steam is aware of this problem and they are working to fix it. This isn't a problem on your end, but on Steam's end. No need to worry. I'm sure they fix it soon....as I sit on hold with Best Buy support...lol.

ok good to now, know I just need to figure why I cant get into GWFL. Im getting a connection error when I launch.

Read Crawford's reply again. This is apparantly a Steam-related issue and Valve is working on it. 

There's thousands of people having this issue with GTA IV on Steam too, including me. When I bought it yesterday I got singleplayer running, but today can't even run singleplayer at all. GTA IV is now some waste of HDD space.

Yeah I know im having issues with GWFL

I removed xlive from the GWFL file, I don't get the connection error anymore but GFWL doesn't load. When I open it, the launcher pops up then it disappears and it does not load.

Hmm, are you sure the all the xlive dependencies are removed?
