GTA V ,You'r Impressions!

I personally haven't played the first missions but loving the details, graphics and the various roadways and buildings. Shooting I find is great ,the way the character moves But I do think driving is a enormous disappointment.

What about you? - Discuss here!

Shooting is great! Graphics are great (for a old system)! Foot controls feels responsive, so does the menu controls. The driving took a while to get used to, but now I could never go back to GTA IV driving with controller.... I understand the problems people have with the driving, it takes a while to get into it. But after a while you just get used to it. Driving is FUN!

Also, slightly off topic: Is it just me, or is the police presence non-existant when the player is not wanted? I have seen them respond in the city, but not any regular patrol.

Second also, contains spoilers

Trevor killed Johnny. That was just a surreal moment, where you realise that the tagline "Liberty City, It's over" is really true. I think Mr.Phillips will grow on me.

I've seen them chase baddies around town. Also seen Sheriff's Department cruisers on the side of the highway doing speed traps and chasing speeders.

One funny moment was when I was doing a taxi mission and a police car that was chasing a suspect rammed into me and wrecked my ride.

Oh, man. Spoiler alerts don't work when quoting. :(

I'm loving it so far. The world is just huge, the story missions are great fun and the shooting mechanics are a major improvement. Police AI is also much better. In pursuits, they try to box you in instead of just ramming their cars into yours. Finally, I love the ambient city noises and the random emergency responses throughout the city. It really gives you that feeling of a living city.

The driving does indeed take some time to get used to though. Also, I may be nitpicking here but does anyone else find that the engine noises are very quiet?

Yeah, I've seen that too. But not driving around, like in Liberty City.

Also, sorry for that... :/

By the way, I was driving around LS yesterday in a car and noticed 2 guys robbing some store, I decided to help them (hehe ;P) and drove my car next to them so they can get in and so on.. So we started driving away from the cops and the guys started talking about Liberty City, I was like *Wait, whut? What you guys talking about?*

So I lost the cops and parked the car to an alley and noticed that one of the robbers were Patrick McReary.. ;D

I'm loving the game so far, it's awesome. Although I haven't seen cop car patroling the city at all when I wasen't wanted either, only when I was wanted or they were chasing someone.

I thought the exact same thing, that the engine noises were quiet. I wish they were a little louder.

Fantastic game!

The Bad

Niggles out the way 1st. Xbox graphics :( Very blurry, difficult to take in detail when driving around due to poor anti aliasing but I accept 360 is 8 years old and going from PC Version GTA4 to the blurry xbox is always going to be a step down. After a few hours of game play this seems to become less of an annoyance for me as my brain adjusts.

Don't like that if you kill a cop out in the desert with no witnesses you still get automatic 2 stars and the cops come for you.

Driving at first felt a little too arcady but again like the blurry graphics I stopped noticing it and it now feels normal.

Would have loved it if one of the playable characters was a corrupt LSPD officer, kinda like that one voiced played by Samuel L in SA. I think they missed a trick there but who knows. DLC :D

The Good

Pretty much everything else. When this comes out on PC and the LCPDFR community get modding this will be truly amazing.

The lightbars. OK not as realistic as ELS, but not far off and of course the HUGE bonus is you can open doors.  I would happily use these instead of ELS in the new game, but ELS still is my choice vs non ELS in GTA4.

Attention to details is amazing. Many things that were in red dead have made it into GTA5 like the ambient wildlife etc. Love all that.

I spent most of yesterday exploring before doing any missions :D

Already getting a craving at work to go home and play lol.

Going to grab the PS3/GTAV bundle tomorrow night ($269).  Can't wait to check it out.

I told my girl that the plan is to stay in the entire weekend...no dinner out, no bar, club, restaurant...nothing.  Got a weird look....

I love it...not to crazy about the handling I prefer iv handling and damage but the graphics the big world and all the stuff you can do makes up for it hopefully rockstar will fix it in future dlc I cant fucking wait until online is activated....I really like how the cops sit on the side of the highways really nice touch, ive manage to store 3 different cop cars so far im going to try to find the suvs and the slicktops

I really enjoyed playing it. As one of the poster's had said previously about the blurry 360 graphics, mine are completely fine. The driving physics are amazing, as are the shooting physics. The whole game is just better than  GTA IV in my opinion, I can't wait to play it when I get home!

So, I was shooting it out with the sheriff's department in the middle of the countryside, and one cool thing I saw was a deputy dragging his injured partner to safety.

Also, whenever you get three or more stars, the policemen don heavier body armor, like in real-life. You can also talk to random people on the street. I went up to some cops as Franklin and said hello, and they said hello back. Pretty cool if you ask me!

Well ~ I'm really enjoying the story mode so far. Driving is a killer, i'll say that but different small things too that seem have downgraded such as crash noises,. I really feel its a lot like Driver: San Francisco which wasn't great at all.

BUT Pro's overwrite the Con's for me anyway..

Love it, although I'm still getting use to the controllers....never had a console, so the controls are goofy to me.  Pretty damn cool though.

I agree about the handling, nothing like GTAIV...more arcade like in feel...but cool none-the-less.
