Thats also my point. All Zimmerman had to do was wait for the police to handle it and no one would be hurt or dead

You're right. But he didn't. And the Florida Prosecutors office decided not to charge him with all of the laws he may have violated in the process. Instead, they chose to charge him with a crime he did not commit based on the evidence. The prosecutor dropped the ball and did everyone involved with this case a great dis-service.

Maybe it's because I proudly exercise my concealed carry permit, or maybe it's because of my interest in law enforcement, but people need to calm down for a second and acknowledge some basic facts abo

  • BULLSHIT!! That MOTHERFUCKER should have gotten his ASS locked up! I bet you that BITCH is going to get killed soon!!!

  • THANK YOU!! Thats my point. I'm so FUCKING pissed right now!

Dude you might as well say Black person or white person. I wouldn't care if you was to call me a black man. YES I'm Black.

Hey, the reason i said that was to let you and everyone know that i'm from the south and i can articulate myself very well and not fall into the stereo type that is depicted on here. i am black and i live in the projects. funny isn't it. i don't want people to think that black people from the south is ignorant..................no offence.................lmfao

I didn't read the whole thread, only the posts before my previous one (on the first page), but I'm going to say the same thing here as I just did on Facebook:

Everybody complains about the news being wrong and biased, etc. but then everybody follows everything they say. I'm all for knowing current events and stuff like that...but things that actually apply to your area, your nation or the world. Yes, you can complain about the "system" but it's the same "system" that takes serial killers, real murderers, rapists, and all that good stuff off the streets. I haven't read much about the whole George Zimmerman thing because it doesn't really interest me, but it seems like something that should have stuck to that area. There's no reason for it to be worldwide news.

"Work and ideas get stolen, then you keep moving on doing your thing."

But all in all, do you know what would be funny. if somewhere down the road zimmerman decided to tell what really happened that night and no one would be able to do anything about it because it would fall under the double jeopardy rule and would be free from ever being prosecuted for that crime again.

The reason why was because it was said that the killing was racially motivated, and because the man that did it was never arrested for the crime, and lastly was about the stand your ground law.

I'm so fucking mad right now, excuse my language right now. I feel sad about Treyvon Martin family man. This is injustice. There was plenty of evidence there for a conviction of man slaughter. The justice system failed the Martin family here in Florida. I can't wait to leave this backward ass state. It appears that an unarmed teenager doesn't have the right to defend himself or herself against a delusional/wanna be cop. So sad, the justice system is fucked up for us black folks. @ast trooper, it's gonna be okay once we wipe out these no good ass laws such as that stand your ground law by sorry ass Jeb Bush. They don't care about us. We have racial problems in America that needs to be brought to the front lines.

Yes i do. And I wished that stuff would have happened down here so Zimmerman would be in jail.

I am sorry, but there is no way, someone with your grammar, your constant cursing before, that you are a cop. No. Way. I know a lot of cops (Sheriff Explorer here), and NONE of them act like you. So please, stop lying.

I haven't even been keep a eye on this trial. There is another "High Profile" trial going on right now in NM! Even though he was not convicted him and his family will have live in fear for there lives. We will either way.

Zimmerman didn't claim Stand Your Ground. He claimed self-defense. There's a big difference - self-defense is a fundamental right, present in every legal jurisdiction, not a specific law like Stand Your Ground.

Personally, my view is this: A murder charge is clearly incorrect, as it requires intent that was almost certainly missing here. Manslaughter (which he was also charged with), however, was a much more reasonable charge. I don't know if he in fact committed manslaughter (in addition to not being a lawyer, I haven't seen all of the evidence), but one of the charges was much more reasonable.

Cut the personal attacks. This thread is about Zimmerman and Martin, not cursing, maturity, or anything else like that. Keep things civil.

It would not be "down here" because you live in Alabama, and it happened in Florida, so it would be "up here"

On the evening of February 26, 2012, Zimmerman observed Martin as he returned to the Twin Lakes housing community after having walked to a nearby convenience store. At the time, Zimmerman was driving through the neighborhood on a personal errand.

At approximately 7:09 PM, Zimmerman called the Sanford police non-emergency number to report what he considered a suspicious person in the Twin Lakes community. Zimmerman stated, "We've had some break-ins in my neighborhood, and there's a real suspicious guy." He described an unknown male "just walking around looking about" in the rain and said, "This guy looks like he is up to no good or he is on drugs or something." Zimmerman reported that the person had his hand in his waistband and was walking around looking at homes. On the recording, Zimmerman is heard saying, "these assholes, they always get away."
About two minutes into the call, Zimmerman said, "he's running." The dispatcher asked, "He's running? Which way is he running?" The sound of a car door chime is heard, indicating Zimmerman opened his car door. Zimmerman followed Martin, eventually losing sight of him.  The dispatcher asked Zimmerman if he was following him. When Zimmerman answered, "yeah," the dispatcher said, "We don't need you to do that." Zimmerman responded, "Okay."  Zimmerman asked that police call him upon their arrival so he could provide his location. Zimmerman ended the call at 7:15 p.m.

Now, let me point out several facts:

  • Trayvon Martin was a 5 foot 11 hooded male with his hands in his pockets, walking around looking about.
  • He was actually high on marijuana, based on the toxicology report - regardless of your opinion on marijuana, it is illegal in the state of Florida.
  • He decided that he would run when there was no present danger.
  • Trayvon Martin did not call 911 to tell them a man was following him, while Zimmerman DID call 911 and tell them he was following him.

He also did lose George Zimmerman, but he decided he would double back around rather than getting home and telling his father of it. He allegedly told his girlfriend that there was a white cracker following him. Now, since people love to play the racial card and say that GZ racially profiled Trayvon Martin - I'd like you to remember that Zimmerman did not call him any racial names, however Trayvon Martin did. I understand this does not change anything, but just to be clear incase someone would like to pull the racial card.

ABC News reported that a medical report compiled by the family physician of George Zimmerman showed that, following the altercation with Martin, Zimmerman was diagnosed with a closed fracture of his nose, two black eyeslacerations to the back of his head, a minor back injury, and bruising in his upper lip and cheek.

This also makes it clear that George Zimmerman did take a beating before shooting Trayvon Martin.

On June 26, 2012, the prosecution released the results of a voice stress test performed on George Zimmerman the day after the shooting. A voice stress test is a type of test used to measure deceptive or psychological stress in the human voice in response to questions. Zimmerman was asked, "Did you confront the guy you shot?", to which Zimmerman answered, "No." Zimmerman was asked, "Were you in fear for your life, when you shot the guy?", to which Zimmerman answered, "Yes." The examiner concluded that Zimmerman "told substantially the complete truth" in the examination, and Zimmerman was classified as "No Deception Indicated (NDI)" according to the report.

What I want to point out here is that he did not confront Trayvon Martin - it was the other way around, which would make sense given Zimmerman's recollection of the events that took place. Trayvon Martin appeared "from nowhere" and said "You got a fucking problem Homie?" to which Zimmerman replied "No" - Trayvon then stated that he did now. It was also stated that Trayvon spotted Zimmerman's gun and said "You gonna die tonight", at which point they fought for the gun and George Zimmerman was able to grab it and shoot him.

I understand this is simply a one-sided report as we do not have Trayvon's side of the story, it is also my understanding that when the prosecution told Zimmerman there was video footage of the events, he said "Oh, thank God!" which would indicate he was indeed telling the truth.

I also believe that the Judge was very unfair and biased, allowing the prosecution to present a lot more than the defense was allowed. If the jury had said he was guilty, it would have likely been appealed. I also find it sick that people compare this jury to that of the Casey Anthony jury. There was a lot more evidence pointing to Casey Anthony being guilty, while there is very little evidence that George Zimmerman is guilty.

If you cannot accept the facts, you have the right to live as a sheep knowing only what the media has told you. It is sad that people have been manipulated by the media to believe lies - remember when ABC (or NBC, I forget which) edited police surveillance to make it appear as though George Zimmerman had no injuries?

It is also very sad that unpeaceful protests are continuing to take place, even after the Martins asked people to be peaceful about it.

This case should have not been a worldwide thing. I originally saw it on my local news the night it happened and did not think anything of it. Next thing I know the President of the United States is telling people "Trayvon was like a son I never had" and "justice will be served", Mike Tyson suggesting George Zimmerman should be killed while stating he didn't know much about what happened.

You do know that 911 advised zimmerman no to follow him and just wait for 911. Plus why did he have to follow him, Trayvon was just minding his own businiess walking down the street doing nothing illegal. Zimmerman shouldn't have approached him.like the phrase " Don't start nothing won't be nothing". Thats just my point of it.

As stated earlier, 911 operators do not have any legal authority that a police officer would. They can advise you to do whatever, however, you have no obligation to comply.

I also saw a post saying that Zimmerman must be guilty because he did not take the stand (or something to that effect). In court proceedings a defendant is not obligated to take the stand if s/he does not wish to do so, and not testifying can NOT be used as "evidence," for lack of a better phrase, of guilt.

Yeah i know but they just gave him that advice to do that. I know he didn't have to but he should have taken that advice.

I do not care if he was black or white. If I was a neighborhood watch guy and I saw a guy with a hood on his head in the middle of the night in my neighborhood, that would be a little suspicious.
