Can somebody name a few different things to make skins with

I use Paint.net

Do not use paint, it makes skins look unprofessional. Try to get you hands on Photoshop or GIMP.

Paint.NET does not make your skins look unprofessional by any means whatsoever, as long as you know what you're doing. If you have the right skill and plugins, you can make skins look just as good as ones made with Photoshop.

Paint.net is fine. just make sure to download plug ins!!

 

However PS CS6 or others would also be the right thing to go with as they a lot easier(IMO) to use.

I do not make skins as I have no skill in that lol but I know that my friends who make skins on here use CS6!

Gimp 2.0!!!!!!!! Free alternative :D

The paint.net plugin list seems to include every plugin available. What are some of the best ones are for the purpose of making skins?

I like GIMP, it's free and easy to use. Paint.NET is good too, but I prefer GIMP.

I use paint.net as it's an free software, But for professional means, I use Photoshop CS5' and soon I be getting Corel PaintShop Pro X5.

paint.net. People say that it "doesn't do the job". It is actually pretty good!
