ELS 7 - It's here!

ELS 7 is a flop.

I don't see how ELS v7 was a flop, it did everything it stated and more. However that is just my opinion. Please keep it on topic about ELSv7 and not ELS-DN, we have a topic dedicated for that.

Would help with a tutorial on how to use the the keys and change them as there's way to many, At least els v6 was simple to use and set up ....

There's a lot of changes to take in, the mod is nothing like ELS V6   As far as car modders is concerned: There's no change in how ELS works for you from V6 to V7, you still need to set up the mode

I have a question. I'm using the PS3 Controller to play the game. With older ELS versions I was able to trigger the siren with the left stick, like the horn.

With ELS 7 it isn't working anymore, only the horn.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Regards

I use a PS3 controller as well in conjunction with Xpadder and it works flawlessly. It let's me map certain keys to certain buttons. For example, I use my D-pad buttons to control the siren features and airhorn.

Quite the contrary, I have and it's really far more work than the gain is worth. ELS 7 is a flop. Holding hope for ELS Dot Net.

I couldn't disagree more. Know that ELS v7 is by far the most realistic and authentic lighting/siren mod I know for any game. I have first hand experience with several Federal Signal products (such as Federal Signal Vama, Vista and Arjent) and ELS v7 just nails every detail regarding the lighting stages and siren control. I dare any of you to make a more realistic product. The controls do indeed take some time to get used to but the learning curve is well worth it.

"Dura lex, sed lex"

How to properly install without issues:

1. Uninstall LCPDFR (Remove the folders and scripts in the Scripts folder!)

2. Make sure you have GTA IV 1.0.0.7

3. Make sure you uninstall xliveless (this will cause crashes!)

4. Now copy ALL files in the ELS7 zip to your GTA IV folder.

5. Now install LCPDFR!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

For all the talk about ELS7 correcting game crashing, it still seems to make my game crash when I call for backup, and randomly will say that GTA IV needs to quit. Is there a solution??

I have that problem too it happens after like 5 times then crashes...I can get it to work without xliveless but now this any suggestions would be nice

I am enjoying this mod.
However, I have one small issue/question.

Is there any possible way to disable the beeping sound that accompanies turning lights on or off. I understand that it is realistic for some departments/setups. However, I find it rather annoying when it is louder than any thing else and can even be heard in another room when wearing headphones.

If it wasn't for the added stability, I am very tempted to go back to ELS V6 so I do not have to deal with the beeping noise.

Anyways, thanks in advance for the assistance and input.

Kind Regards

Try changing "FlashSoundFx" in ELS.ini to off

Try changing "FlashSoundFx" in ELS.ini to off

Thanks but from my understanding that is the sound related to the lights flashing. Not the sound when selecting which lights should be one or off. I am referring to the beeping sound not the clicking/flashing sound from the lights.

I know what you're referring to, I said to try it. It may turn off the beeping too. I don't know because I never changed that setting.
