  • Okay, so when was EVCS announced?  Late January right?  How about ELS.Net?  It was announced last week, right?     Are you expecting to see something arrive within a week of the first public annou

  • Nah, I feel it's quite good if GPM actually has at least one script developer they can tout. Some competition is healthy.

  • While its nice and probably took a lot of time to make, I simply don't like how the corona's shine through the car. (See the front of it when he drives out in the video)   I think I'll stick to ELS

I'm hoping that the INI settings for this and ELS.net are compatible, so that the player can choose which one he wants (instead of having the modder choose which to support). How does the EVCS INI work?

Also, some of you might want to suggest it to Grady to making an account and a topic here, he's going to get a lot more feedback and exposure that way than just posting it on GPM.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

This is what I'm currently using sense my computer gets temperamental when ELS is installed. All things considered I love it, granted I can't customize the flash pattern, but it is pretty neat to have the lights going and my door wide open. Small things amuse me I suppose.

Unfortunately not, ELS.Net uses a very different system, here's an example:

Oh, Sam, you're making my day. That looks like the type of setting I hoped EVCS would use.

My idea was something like this (formatted somewhat like what Grady did):

SETONELIGHTONEPOSITION=x,y,z

SETONELIGHTONECOLOR=color

SETONELIGHTONESIZE=size

SETONELIGHTONEDELAY=delay from pattern start in milliseconds, add to proceeding lights

SETONELIGHTONESTROBE=true/false if light flashes twice instead of once

SETONELIGHTONEREPEATDELAY=delay from one flash to next, in milliseconds, unless rest of set MUST flash first, then it would be unneeded.

And yes, I hope Grady will drop in here. For some reason, every time I try to post on GPM, it always loads a blank page, on multiple PCs and browsers.

If the coordinates match up, I might try to think of a way to script a conversion from EVCS to ELS.net (vice versa might not work, as ELS.net seems to support more in the way of lighting options).

Here is my question.  I dont want to get rid of ELS.  Im just curious and want to try this mod.  Can you disable els and use evcs on the police slot but leave ELS for the rest?

Yes, just change active = 1 to active = 0 for your POLICE slot in the els.ini

yea I did that and for some reason when i get into the car, I cant turn on any of the lights or control panel but it still says im running the script

just delete your els because its just a hassle...I tried it with els and it was nothing but a pain so I deleted it and it worked like a charm and then you can just reinstall els easily since its only a few files
