well this all sounds like a great update... me and my 2 friends that play this all crash in multiplayer 30 times each every night... or every 5min... but we love it and even if it's caused by ELS possibly... we can't give up our lighting. We would love things to be way more stable. :woot:

Congrats everyone. Let's hope we're here for many years to come.   Just do me a favor, Sam, don't die anytime soon. Look both ways before crossing the street!

  • I only expect this place to grow more and more as the years go on. Congratulations Sam for making it this far!

  • Well. Dayum.

This is awesome news- I hope this thing takes off and just becomes big.... it has the potential for sure! very good programming and what not. I could see this becoming its own program the way it is headed. If I had a million dollars I'd donate it all to this project as it is worth it.

Been playing LCPDFR for quite a while now... And loving every minute of it. Crashes and "stopped working" bugs give you some headackes, but still i keep playing it and playing it, over and over!

I play the game all standard. No car mods, no lightbar mods and no ELS. I kinda miss it, but the game is a lot more stable this way. Car mods suck memory (RAM) and my old rig doesn't take that too well.

Although, a musthave mod for GTA IV if you are a police enthusiast (thanks to all the modders that make those awesome ingame tools like "policehelper" and the "Policing script" too of course!!).

Sounds good, been waiting for a update of LCPDFR like the one you are announcing here. Looks real good and promising guys!

To be honest, I don't think that yourself and the team are thanked enough for all the work you put in to creating this mod and how successful it has been. I noticed that you didn't put a month of the release, obviously would be an estimate, but any clue if we're looking mid year or towards the end of the year? I am really looking forward to the update. The game as it is already is amazing. Yes, there are occasional crashes and things are a little rusty, but you can't expect miracles from one of the first releases! After three and a half years, you've adapted to feedback from users, what needs improving etc, which is why I am looking forward to this next release so much. LCPDFR is like a whole new game to GTA IV, I would happily buy this game if it was on disc!

But yes, you haven't been thanked enough for your work, and I know that even after playing this game for 6 months, I have never once congratulated the creators. So thank you for such an amazing mod, I am really looking forward to what LCPDFR 1.0 will bring! Keep up the great work guys!

That's what the devs have always said since the beginning. This mod is called "First Response" for a reason.

LCPDR is constantly evolving, new stuff is tried, the good stays and old stuff is removed, I can't see a problem with that.

I know the developers are hard at work on it, it will never be perfect for everybody, we won't all enjoy it as much as the next guy will, but at least now it's possible for us to extend the experience with other mods such as Braveharts Policing Script. Why should LCPDFR incorporate features that isn't what envisioned for LCPDFR when it's already available elsewhere?

I know that Sam wants LCPDFR to be focused around everyday policing, nobody certainly wants LCPDFR to go go in the way the Police Pursuit Mod did, PPM went over the top and had massive shootouts and crazy stuff happening.

The developers will always try and stay as true to the core values in LCPDFR as possible, I can't see it as important when it's possible to add more outlandish calls by using other mods, LCPDFR is no longer the one-stop solution it used to be as people are now combining it with ELS, Bravehearts policing script, Abraxas' scripts and what else you can all find.

Why complain that LCPDFR isn't going the way you want it to go when you can easily turn it into what you want?

Well, hopefully the newest version of LCPDFR will have an API of some sorts so that developers will be able to communicate with LCPDFR and fully integrate their mods. I can only dream of the possibilities...

Im sure allot of people would like to make their own mod to be better than lcpdfr but scripting is just too complicated

I make scripted mods, sound mods, and other mods for GTA4. To Check Them Out, Go Here. Want to be apart of the most complex and realistic roleplay community for GTA4 & EFLC? Checkout Bay Side Virtual_Emergency Services. Checkout GTA4: EFLC LCPDFR Videos here:

Why complain that LCPDFR isn't going the way you want it to go when you can easily turn it into what you want?

Exactly. At this point, LCPDFR plays more of a support role in my game. I use PoliceHelper for random world events, and Braveheart's script for callouts, but LCPDFR supplies the actual mechanics to let me *act* as a cop (arrests, backup, pursuits, traffic stops, etc.) LCPDFR turns me into a cop; PoliceHelper and Braveheart's script give me stuff to do while a cop.

That said: An API would make other script integrate so much better into LCPDFR, and that'd be awesome (for one thing, an API might let us use Braveheart's MDC or Abraxas's' PH database for ID checks). I believe that's planned for some point in the future, though.

All I can say is that API is coming and it's crucial in expanding mods like Braveheart's and mine. API certainly will be game changer for us scripters. I can't wait to try it, but even I don't know when it comes. LCPDFR devs work really hard to give stable and good experience and to give scripters framework to create mods on the whole new level.

Examples why API is so important:

With API it will be possible to have all ped data the same in every mod.

Policemen on roadblock will shoot only suspect and only when he tries to ram them, not when he is surrendering after ramming into roadblock.

Forcing pursuit will be possible. Yes, you can get that now but without backup etc. With this one burglaries, bank robberies, officer assistance on traffic stops starts will be possible.

These are only few things that will help us add more to the whole LCPDFR experience.

Hot damn! I found by pure accedent LCPD:FR. Just happened to watch a Yutube vid on it and the next day bought it for my PC. What a fantastic spin on this already fun game. Looking forward to a more stable ELS & LCPD:FR  1.0. When GTA V hits the shelves I'm just going to buy it for the PC right off the bat. Looking forward to mods for it as well since I live in LA... Plus it's supposed to have a huge map.

Thank you all in the mod community for putting out some outstanding and enjoyable mod content.

So with this API let say the person your chasing crashes there car, with this they could get out and steal another and run off ?
