Even though my heart is dedicated to the Ford Crown Victoria, the new 2013 police interceptor looks to be pretty good, more room, better technology, just better over all. Minus the good ol' Crown Victoria sound. This is a 9 minute video going over the newest police interceptor!

I wasn't a huge fan of the Ford Taurus when I first saw it, but the 2013 model has some charm to it and frankly it looks sexy fitted out as a police package.

I just want to know when we are going to get this car for GTA IV.

As long as it doesn't replace the nypd CVPI it's ok in my book.

Probably will, since the CVPI gas mileage...is...crap. Especially in a city like NY.

Meh, still has a lot of car ass in tight cornering maneuvers... a whole lot less though compared to the CVPI boat'ish tendencies during high speed maneuvering.

The 2013 Taurus PPV isn't half bad - it seems to be rather well suited to the task at hand, more so than the Charger and Caprice in my opinion.  The inclusion of a column-mounted gearshift and AWD are bonuses though.  The only things really missing are body-on-frame construction and RWD.

 

With all of that said, I will still always love the CVPI; it simply cannot be matched in legacy, looks, or longevity.

Just so you know, that comment made me watch the video.

Yeah. I didn't like the looks of the car when I first saw it, but seeing it in service has changed my mind. It looks really nice with a Secret Service paintjob.

Not the 2013 model, one is in the works though.

That is the replacement for the crown vic, I believe highway is sticking to the Charger and the Department has a few of the new Caprice's (saw a black(bosses car) on the news during Sandy coverage so I guess they are testing that car which may be used by highway either with or instead of the Charger I know they are training on the interceptor already

:( NO! I only love Crown Vics :P. I wish they would continue making Crown Vics but oh well. Also a 2013 car with a windows XP computer lol... Pretty pretty old computer :/

It isn't that old. Sure the software came out awhile ago, but most stations use XP and it's all they need to run their programs and such...

So far I've seen multiple unmarked NYPD Tauruses around, as well as a few Port Authority Caprices.  I have yet to see a 2011+ Charger though.

NYPD has no choice but to replace their CVPIs eventually. You can't make a car run forever, especially when it's treated like shared patrol cars are treated.
