Pull Over AI

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering whether, in the next version of LCPDFR, you could improve the pull over AI. I often get really annoyed and frustrated when I pull over cars and they stop immediately, right on the street, or they just run into a wall or other objects . Of course, I understand that it might not be possible to alter this (I assume it is the same script that makes cars get out of emergency vehicle's ways in the normal GTA IV), but it would be REALLY AWESOME if cars you want to pull over do so more gradually and safer....

  • This is something I've been actually working on, the results are still not perfect though. So I can't tell if this will make it into the next version, but it will come for sure at some point.

  • I just added this feature since I like the idea, you can now use both sides of the vehicle. When going to the right and there's no passenger, the driver will change the seat. The only problem is that

  • I would like to see a feature where you can approach either side of the vehicle. It has become common practice in my state for officers, especially on the highway, to approach the side of the vehicle

I like this suggestion. When I have a bad shift in LCPD:FR and someone pulls over to the left hand side of the road... I just execute them.

Hahahaha i do exactly the same and it's funny to hear it from other ones

I would like to see a feature where you can approach either side of the vehicle. It has become common practice in my state for officers, especially on the highway, to approach the side of the vehicle that the median is on. for example if the vehicle pulls over on the right side of the road, the officer will approach the right side of the vehicle. Just a suggestion.

I agree, it makes it a lot nicer when you don't get struck by passing traffic on a T-Stop.

I just added this feature since I like the idea, you can now use both sides of the vehicle. When going to the right and there's no passenger, the driver will change the seat. The only problem is that the animations are all made for the driver seat and so are in the wrong direction. I don't think I can fix that, so you have to live with that.

That is awesome! The passing the license animation is a small price to pay for this! It will be much more realistic now.

Wait i just have a question why does the driver change seats?

It looked a little bit unrealistic when the driver remained in the left front seat and the idle animation made him look out of the left front window and player is talking at the right window. It's not a final decision though.

So this will be in the new version of LCPDFR.

Maybe ;)

LMS, can you tell me what will happen when player comes from the right side and there is passenger on the right front seat? I force actions for passenger in notyetreleased K-9 script and don't want to conflict with LCPD:FR pull over.

The passenger will become the main actor, pass the license and player will talk to him. However, the driver's license is used and actions such as leaving the vehicle are still limited to the driver for now. If you have some other questions, we can discuss over at IRC.
