For those of you saying this storm is an over-exageration of the media, my stepsister lives in NJ just across the river from NYC. She said it was getting crazy as she evacuated. Here are some pics from the simple search of google:

Well when New York is flooding and they shut down the Trade Market, lets just say sh*ts about to get real. lol

The wind for us was the most thing that hurt us. I was out with the FD all night. Lots of down wires and we got a couple of structure fires

I live a couple minutes east of Queens/NYC. Currently typing this mid storm, enjoying a nice cold beer.

56+% of my town is without power. That 56% doesn't include me, for now. But until then.... weeeeeeeeeee!

Amazingly, I still have power, and what's more - I have cable as well. From what I've heard. 97% of Long Island is without power and judging by the fact that in the ~20 miles I traveled today I didn't see a single working traffic light, I'd say it's probably accurate. Happy to be in the 3% though, so much so that I'm throwing a post-hurricane party tonight for me and the neighbors!

Breezy Point, Queens got hit HARD, anyone seen this yet?

A 6 alarm fire took out 80+ homes there last night. It looks like a wasteland!

I just got some flooding and heavy winds, saw some downed trees and power lines half of my city is out of power right now.

I have no power or internet at my house. Lots of trees on wires and poles hanging down

My area got completely destroyed, i just got power back from days ago....this storm royally fucked us.

I just got power back and was out of school for a week

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of those affected, its certainly one of the worst storms I've seen.

Us Brit's got a very very very small part of Sandy on the South Coast, the waves didn't breach shore, but they were damn high. I've been living in my area for a good eight-nine plus years and I'd never seen the waves that big, not to mention the wind was a lot stronger that day

Yup. Also it is sad for the people that got killed but some of them got killed because they were stupid

Wow guess they really meant superstore/frankenstorm

We are gonna get hit hard again guys ! Another storm Will hit shore wednesday wind speeds up to 60 Mph and National weather services said everybody that has power again should be prepared to lose it again, Stay inside and get resources was there advice
