About

 

  • Bait Car is a plugin that allows you to catch car thieves in the act. Select a vehicle model, wait for it to arrive, park it somewhere, hide down the street, and wait for the car thieves to come in. Once someone steals the vehicle, follow them and the on screen prompts to proceed.
  • Vehicle models, Ped models, Weapons used in scenarios, wait times, keybinds, etc. are fully customizable in the configuration file.
  • Vehicles can be re-used multiple times.
  • Multiple suspects can now take the bait car!

 

 

Currently Supports

RAGE Plugin Hook 1.89 & 1.90 (Latest)
LSPDFR 0.4.9 (Build 8037+ required for new API functions. Older versions will work, but will crash the plugin when you call for backup)

 

 

Installation

  1. Extract the included zipped folder to any location (ex. your desktop)
  2. Drag all files from the "Grand Theft Auto V" folder included with this plugin into your main Grand Theft Auto V game folder.
  3. If asked to replace any files, select replace.
  4. Once all files have been copied, start up your game, and go on duty with LSPDFR to load the plugin.
  5. Installation is complete

  • Built for Rage Plugin Hook v1.90/LSPDFR v0.4.9 (0.4.8037.37597, Latest)
  • Fixed detection issues when player parked the bait car (green circle not showing up)
  • Fixed crash on plugin load when there is an invalid keybind in the configuration file
  • Fixed suspects going to same offset from vehicle, bumping into each other
  • Added link to list of possible keybinds to configuration file
  • Fixed CompuLite crash
  • Fixed rare occurrence where suspects could not be pulled out at gunpoint (felony stop)

So glad this modification came out! I'm really sad because new RPH crashes GTAV. I'm also cursed with the Crash-On-Shift. I re-downloaded the whole game and I still get the error. It's very, very, very frustrating. :/

The latest RAGE Hook update was supposed to fix the crash on shift. Did it not for you?

ok I wanted to use this but I see there is no info on how to use the mod like what are the buttons to get the car or to kill the car anything. you just have how to install it if you can can I get some info on controls please thanks.

The controls are in the ini file, which is in Plugins -> LSPDFR. I'll add the default controls into the readme next time I update it.

    I saw the file in the folder and all works great now. This is a fantastic mod just makes more real life gameplay good job Straysify.

    I can't seem to upload a new version right now, which is probably related to the maintenance being done on the downloads section. Once it is done, I'll upload a new version. Until then, here's the changelog:

    - Added list of default controls to the readme
    - Updated to RAGE Plugin Hook 0.22
    - Fixed an issue where multiple bait cars could be active at once, confusing the AI.
    - Fixed an issue where force cleanup would display the "Park the bait car in a sutable location" text.
    - Added an explanation of how to use the mod to the readme
    - Minor performance improvements
    - BaitCar rar files now contain the version of RAGE Plugin Hook they're built against.
    - Suspects now walk to the bait car, rather than run.
    - Fixed animals being used as suspects

    Am I the only one that has had this happen today? 

    Request Bait Car Vacca.  get it, park it.  I go around the corner out of site.  Wait about 5 min.  The blue blip has not moved.  So I figured maybe there are just too many people around.  So I pull up next to the bait car and I see this white poodle as I was in the Vinewood richy area.   Of course you gotta run the damn dog over for fun right?  I run it over, felt kinda bad,  but the dog is ok.. he gets right back, so I decide to run him over again.  He gets right back up AND PROCEEDS TO GET INTO THE BAIT CAR AND STEAL IT!!   W T F??  So I yank the poodle out of car and he decides to get on all fours and high tail it (no pun intended)  1 bullet, he is dead.  

    was this an easter egg or a bug?  

    PS:  The Coroner did come out and put the poodle in a body bag

    I don't know is this is going on with anyone else but the mod will work. but when I push the F7 and pick a car the game crashes out. I thought it was just one time but it did it every time. I am going to put the other version back in and see if it does it or if it was something else. just wanted to see if this happened with anyone else.

    Love this mod but i found that if loaded with policetoolbox beta it will send 2 bait cars at the same time. You should get in contact with the author of policetoolbox

    well I found out what it was cause I used the older mod and it did the same thing. So I found out the with the new rage hook and the ped or vehicle search mod they did not work well together. Cause when I used them the mod did the crash but when I did not all worked well so Don't know just have to see if they update.

    Everytime I press NumPad5 they bring a bait car, even without the car selection menu open.  Can you help?

    I can do this all the time too I had 20 bait cars coming to me without using anything other than NumPad5

    Not seeing an option to set the speed either.

    Just fixed and uploaded. Thanks for reporting this, never got noticed in testing.
