Cop Holster is an RPH plugin that adds some unique functionality to the police handgun holster. It removes the handgun from the holster if a pistol is a drawn. It also comes with intimidation mode -- a simple feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Cop Holster works with both the player and AI officers.

Requirements
RAGEPluginHook 0.23 or higher.

 

Installation
Place CopHolster.dll and CopHolster.xml in your Plugins folder.
When ingame, open the RPH console (default F4) and type LoadPlugin CopHolster.dll.

 

Features

  • Dynamic holsters for both the player an AI officers.
  • Animations that automatically play when holstering and unholstering.
  • Intimidation mode, a feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Toggle with Right Shift Key (keyboard) or Left DPad (controller).
  • Highly configurable! Turn off animations, change keys, add new ped models for Cop Holster support, you name it.

 

Questions
Does this come with RDE support?
The RDE Cop Holster config file is in the RDE 3.1 download.

 

Does this come with EUP support?
Yes. Cop Holster comes with support for EUP 7.5.

 

How does Cop Holster work?
All ped models in GTA have what are called drawables. They are pieces of clothing or equipment that can vary between instances of that model. Many of the default cop models have two holster drawables. One is empty, and one has a pistol. Cop Holster simply changes between those two drawables depending on if you have your pistol drawn or not to give the illusion that you are taking the pistol out of the holster.   


I'm a ped model developer and would like to make my model work with Cop Holster. How would I go about doing that?

So the plugin seems to be working, as I can see the gun being holstered and unholstered, but the intimidation mode doesn't seem to work anymore. It was working flawlessly for awhile, but I recently had to reinstall LSPDFR and its plugins, and now the intimidation mode does not function. 😞

I use it with eup but the gun doesnt show back up in the holster when I put it away

Hey man, This problem has started for many people lately. Not sure if its LSPDFR 0.4.1 or EUP 8.1 or simply CopHolster. The Author is supposedly attemping to upgrade at some point. Here is my solution for now...If you go into the .xml file for Cop Holster and scroll down to <Model>MP_M_FREEMODE_01</Model> or your <SMY> ped model you can change the <unholstered> numbers to match the <holstered> number for each pistol section. It eliminates the removal of the gun but you get to continue to use the animation. Until it is updated this is the least stressful way to enjoy this mod. Good luck!

For some reason, this plugin is playing both animations (the default and custom one) when I unholster and holster my gun. In other words, when I select a weapon it plays the default animation of drawing the gun then immediately plays the new one of drawing from the holster (same for holstering.) It does remove the gun from the holsters properly. Anyone know how to fix that?

Yeah. That's what "Standalone Plugin" means. It works on any version. It has some bugs to be worked out though. It works fine for some and glitchy for others. We're all hoping for an update concerning those issues soon.

when I take out the gun from the holster, it appears in my right hand and disappears from the holster, everything is fine here, but when I remove the gun, the gun disappears from my hand, but does not appear in the holster, where it should be. How can I solve this problem?

I already checked the ixml to make my changes, according to your comment, even before I left my comment about this problem. I use LSPDFR 0.3.1 and GTA version 1180, I also do not use it because of the missed DLC, which are present in newer versions of GTA. but actually for what I am writing this: I have my problem every time when the lsdpdr is not loaded, everything is fine with the FPS, then in most cases the gun appears in a holster. when I start the service, the FPS drops to 10, and the gun does not appear in the holster, after the operation, namely, getting and removing the gun from the inventory

Gun is still not being placed back in the holster.  Everything else works fine.

 

(edit): The trick with getting in to a car and selecting unarmed still works. It will reholster the gun.

I noticed there is belts empty and full for the taser in the trainer. But this mod only added the pistols and didn't take advantage of the taser belts. Anyone have the xml to add the taser for freemode_01 characters?

does not work it says that CopHolster.dll states that it prefers only a single instance of to be running at time. To force this plugin to load multiple times set the force parameter to true please help

Alternatively, you might need to change the Holster you use.  I personaly use number 7.

Also if your holster is empty it will not work.

So I've realized that you can't have this mod on to high of a resolution. Also having to large of a monitor or using to large of a tv can also cause problems. I use a 40inch flat screen...lol, a downgrade from my 50inch. Just this simple adjustment allowed this mod to fully function for me after months of constant issues. IDK if this is a issue for everyone but if you have problems consider this. I plan to get a simple monitor soon.

I doesent work with the Right Shift. I didnt Change anything.

 

Yeah... the Holster is Empty. But i actually use an Default LSPDFR Police Skin...
