Cop Holster is an RPH plugin that adds some unique functionality to the police handgun holster. It removes the handgun from the holster if a pistol is a drawn. It also comes with intimidation mode -- a simple feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Cop Holster works with both the player and AI officers.

Requirements
RAGEPluginHook 0.23 or higher.

 

Installation
Place CopHolster.dll and CopHolster.xml in your Plugins folder.
When ingame, open the RPH console (default F4) and type LoadPlugin CopHolster.dll.

 

Features

  • Dynamic holsters for both the player an AI officers.
  • Animations that automatically play when holstering and unholstering.
  • Intimidation mode, a feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Toggle with Right Shift Key (keyboard) or Left DPad (controller).
  • Highly configurable! Turn off animations, change keys, add new ped models for Cop Holster support, you name it.

 

Questions
Does this come with RDE support?
The RDE Cop Holster config file is in the RDE 3.1 download.

 

Does this come with EUP support?
Yes. Cop Holster comes with support for EUP 7.5.

 

How does Cop Holster work?
All ped models in GTA have what are called drawables. They are pieces of clothing or equipment that can vary between instances of that model. Many of the default cop models have two holster drawables. One is empty, and one has a pistol. Cop Holster simply changes between those two drawables depending on if you have your pistol drawn or not to give the illusion that you are taking the pistol out of the holster.   


I'm a ped model developer and would like to make my model work with Cop Holster. How would I go about doing that?

you could actually include the iaa male agent also, as he has four belt options, a holster with gun, a holster without gun, a gun belt with holster with gun, and a gun belt with holster with no gun.

btw, to save you time: the iaa agent is: s_m_m_ciasec

and is located in x64e.rpf

and I assume that if the cop is wearing the stab vest nothing will change, right?

Nice.  My next update I plan'd to do a little holster/unholster action addon to Police Radio - this mod will really compliment it literally when I was just thinking about removing it - you did.  Good stuff.  Can't wait to try it.  I'll rate if I don't forget. -.-

Nice find! The belt options are under the hair component ID. Not that that is a problem, just found that to be a little odd. I'll include it in the next update. Thanks!

Also, yes, nothing changes if a cop is wearing a stab vest.

awesome, I was playing around with it a bit, really adds to immersion, just gotta find a decent glock 17 to replace the pistol.

Any chance of this being updated to work on the latest RPH? I was playing with the mod earlier and it crashed when drew my gun, went back into the game disabled the mod and it didnt crash upon drawing =/

I just tested it with the latest RPH and it seems to be working fine. Perhaps try re-downloading the plugin?

the .dll must've broke somehow when i upgraded my RPH, re-downloaded and it works perfect =)

Unfortunately, no. The FIB agents don't have a variation with a gun in their holster so I can't really do anything about it.

Are you sure? I checked out s_m_m_armoured_01 and accs_000_u is the gun model that's seperate from the belt/holster model but that isn't included in the variations. s_m_m_armoured_02 seems to have the gun model attached to the belt/holster model which I certainly can't do anything about (yet).

Lspd is crashing every time. I reload it and then it's happening again. Everything was stable before the upgrade. Maybe a conflict among plugins. I'll watch it.
