XScanner v3.23.44.3460

(51 reviews)

1 Screenshot

XScanner is an LSPDFR Scanner replacement/addon.

Features:

  • Full XAudio2 support.
  • Multiple output device support, play background scanner on one device and police scanner on another.
  • Multiple audio emitters to choose from; player, player vehicle, police vehicles.
  • Customizable distortion effects for the police scanner.
  • LSPDFR relay.
  • Broadcast quick selection.
  • Broadcast presets; Top50, Newest Streams, Official Streams, Manual stream input, search for streams.
  • Supports all known audio formats, and then some.
  • Police Scanner playback (frontend and 3d).
  • Background Scanner playback (frontend and 3d) (local files or stream).
  • Preferred audio folder; for dispatch replacements.
  • Audio redirects; for dispatch replacements.
  • The prettiest animated menu around with theming support.

There is the possibility of editing the ini manually, but I do not recommend it due to the complexity of this plugin.
Everything can be changed through the menu (default: F8)
If you already have something bound to F8 you can either:

  • change the menu key through the consolecommand
    SetXScannerMenuKey
  • manually open the menu through the consolecommand and change the menu key from within the menu.
    OpenXScannerMenu

Installation: Place files from the "Grand Theft Auto V" folder into your game installation folder.

What's New in Version v3.23.44.3460

Released

Fix:

  • updated hook scanner
  • fixed streams 403-ing due to changes on broadcastify's end and showing up as down.
  • fixed landmarks not properly being used

Changes:

  • Folders under GTAV\LSPDFR\SCANNER are no longer selectable as the Preferred Audio Folder from the menu,
as this folder is generally a bigger mess than your grandmothers random trash drawer.
Use folders in GTAV\PLUGINS\LSPDFR\XSCANNER\Audio instead, which will still show up in the menu.
You can still set the folder to GTAV\LSPDFR\SCANNER itself however.
This will NOT break any dispatch replacements.
  • changed normalization divider to 32768 instead of 32767

Add:

  • Added "Vinegar Enjoyer" flag to Settings->Global Flags to disable holiday effects
  • Added aborts and criticals to ScannerAPIFlags
  • Added critical scannerblocks

Spoiler

  • Removed strictness of XCHATTR file loading
  • Fixed missing scannerblock status updates
  • Added fading
  • Reduced playback latency
  • Added global watch to stop audio pause from triggering stalled playback
  • Various fixes I forgot to write down
  • Changed AudioRedirects to allow multiple files, now in the config/Redirects folder

    - Disable Normalization (normalization got rewritten so it might not cause you issues anymore, see fixes below)
    - Disable volume keybinds
  • Lowered volume step for better finetuning of the volume
  • Added BackgroundScanner:UseDucking Flag
when During Pursuit/Callout is enabled you can set a volume ducking percentage instead of it going full mute whenever the PoliceScanner is active.
  • Added bottom slider for the PoliceScanner:EnableEffects flag
  • Added volume control for the PoliceScanner:WhiteNoise flag
  • Increased stream buffer throughput (should be quite a bit faster now)

Fixes

I love this mod dude! adds more realism to my patrols. I tried use this mod and MoreRadioChatter but it doesn't work, It would be awesome be able to play with these two mods and maybe an option to have backgroundscanner on ped as well.. Anyways, great work man 😀

Backgroundscanner on ped has already been added in the ini of the latest version.

MoreRadioChatter uses the standard lspdfr scanner to play its audio, which XScanner overrides (if relay is enabled in the ini).

If its not playing correctly that's on MoreRadioChatter's end.

@khorio I can't seem to get the plugin working. If I go on duty using forceduty then it says it loaded, but because my forceduty always crashes a couple of times before I get it to work, it doesn't say It loaded the second time (and so on) when I use forceduty. So when I get lspdfr working it's just silence in the vehicle, no sound from the scanner. Really love the idea of this plugin but would also like to get it actually working. If you have any advice let me know!

🙂 Best of wishes!

I'd start with throwing some of the shady callout plugins out, something is freezing on load, there's 2 plugins who use the apiexample namespace...meaning plugins by people with no coding experience. And you have cheep in twice

Are there any known plugins that this conflicts with that may cause the odd stuttering?

You'll need to test this for yourself by adding plugins one by one, but it's very unlikely.

Howdy khorio!
How can I throw in my own chatter files? I have a rather large collection of random Los Angeles County Sheriff traffic audio files that I'd love to hear coming out of my car in game if possible.

Just put them in plugins/lspdfr/xscanner/audio/default/xchattr

They can be mp3, they need to be named xchattr_000 (where 0 is a number) you can start from 001 since the default ones use another format and extension.

In the next version I'll change it so it accepts any filename within that folder/subfolder

Copy that. Am I safe to remove the existing ones and replace them with my own?

What's New in Version 1.0.6795.427

Released August 9

  • Fixed a threading issue
  • Added EnableBackgroundScannerOnPlayer to disable 3d playback and play frontend instead
  • Added LinkScannerToBackgroundVolume to link the scanner volume to the background volume

On another note, please refrain from demanding things, asking something works a lot better.

@khorio You misconstrue , I exude no interest in your rendition of the scanner ; one yearns for vanilla playback... I’ll give you 5 stars , damn and blast you.

First of all this is an amazing mod to have and I love it. But sadly I removed it bc it seems a second before the scanner plays it causes my game to freeze for a quick second. Very noticeable.

I have wanted a mod like this since the beginning of LSPDFR. I am genuinely excited to try it out this evening

so, how do i turn up my scanner when i get a call ? does the background scanner option make a separate volume for this or its the same background volume that controls the background noize  ?

Ok i really love this! Oh my gosh this has created so much immersion and makes patrolling around in my car so much fun! just listening to the intersting police chatter makes me day. Question i have, will there be more chatter added at anypoint? i would love to see more adding into it to reduce any chance of repeated audio files. If not has anyone else created any supporting add-on audio packs for this?

This really is a super mod and i hope not overlooked.
