This mod creates random emergency vehicle responses that will come pass the player. The player should shut down any major intersection to let the emergency vehicles pass by.

Make sure to put AmbientEmergencyResponse.dll and AmbientEmergencyResponse.ini into \Plugins\LSPDFR folder.

 

Take a look at the INI at least once to make sure you are satisfied with the settings. 

You can enter cheat-code "ambientresponse" to force an ambient response.

Hey, I absolutely love this script and it was working amazingly for me until 0.4.3 release. At this point, I've been getting crashes in game from this script, so I wanted to let you know. Included is my RPH log from the most recent crash. I'd love to see this updated if it is an issue with 0.4.3 as I really enjoy the immersion this brings to my games!  It seems like it may not be and could instead be an issue with one of the vehicles its trying to spawn.

I really like this and it works fine!

 

But help an Officer at a loss, how we are supposed to lock an intersection? Stopping the traffic via STP the emergency vehicles stop as well (at least firetrucks). Also when I move a a bit with stage three lights on, at least the firetrucks ( just tested it with them till now) also stop.

 

But in the end, this plugin brings some nice life into the game. Thank you for updating like all your other stuff 🙂

What I had in mind of closing an intersection is just through roleplay. This mod is very minimalistic, hence ambient in its name. So again, what I had in mind when developing this mod would be for the user to simply wait in/near the intersection with lights on to roleplay of closing it down. You can also roleplay to where if a civilian car blocks or doesn't stop for the emergency vehicles, you can pull them over for failure to yield.

K my fault then 😄 Still like it.

 

Just a suggestion: Could you exclude emergency vehicles from stopping while the player vehicle is on stage 3? Cause even in an only rp scenario, if you move just a tiny bit they hit the brakes🙂

If you are using STP to stop traffic, that would have to be fixed on the STP mod, not this one as this mod only dispatch emergency vehicles around the player location and traffic yields just like normal. STP made it so all traffic stopped including emergency vehicles since the last update that I used anyway.

Yeah got it, just asked so that the emergency vehicles from this mod don´t stop when I move with stage 3 lights on. So I can move slowly a bit and can block an intersection to stop the civil traffic, but the emergency vehicles will be able to still drive through. Cause those (at least the ones from this mod) also stop when I am on stage 3. 

 

So since the last update of STP (which I have of course) the emergency vehicles stop also when you fully stop traffic? Havn´t tested that yet (had no like situation for now, the update is just came out). That would be weird. How would you call EMS into a fully blocked area then? O.o

Nice plugin! It shouldn't be limited to on-duty. And "MultiUnitProbability" doesn't work for me. Whatever number I set, only one unit arrives.

I'll consider to extending it to off duty. I'll verify the multi-unit response. I know I've had 2 unit responses before. What INI values do you have for the Multi category?

I have all MultiUnitProbability values set to 100. All other values are default.

But I believe there's like a MultiUnitMax, or something like that. I'm not at my computer so I'm unsure of the exact key.

My MaxPossibleUnits values are default: 8 (PoliceCity), 4 (PoliceCounty), 2 (MedicCity), 2, 3, 2, 4, 2, 3, 3.

So I checked the code and it will always spawn a minimum of 2 units. It may be that the vehicles are being created, but only one vehicle is actually driving past you while the remaining vehicles are getting stuck. You can verify this by checking the log. It will indicate the type of response, the number of vehicles to create, and the number of vehicles actually created.

Now it works!
A few more suggestions:
1. Sometimes, units do spawn right next to the player. There should be minimum spawning distance from the player.
2. Sometimes, not all units make it to the player, get stuck at spawn. Perhaps you should clear spawning area of traffic first, make units spawn one by one, oriented towards player or something to minimalize this.

3. Ability to define what models can spawn (including addons) would be just perfect!

Number 1 and 2 are already implemented. The minimum distance is already set at 150m. Sometimes the game cannot find good spawn positions, so it will resort to a position near the player.

The position is cleared, all units spawn correctly in the street with correct headings and all units don't spawn on top of each other. Due to lack of coding documentation, the AI sometimes get stuck and don't reverse their car to get out of being stuck. As this mod is very passive, it doesn't monitor the vehicles to try to fix them.

I don't think I will add support for defining custom models as this specific plugin is of least priority of the plugins I've created, and it's designed to be passive and vanilla.

I put both files in the plugins LSPDFR folder and played the game for 10 mins and didnt get any ambient responses, what did I do wrong?
