BetterDispatchAudio 2.2

(39 reviews)

1 Screenshot

Are you tired of hearing "IN, UHHHHHH"? Tired of "DIS BOBCAT 4 EN ROUUUTEE!!!"? So was I. So I fixed that. Better Dispatch Audio (B.D.A.) includes completely new AI Responding Audio (from NFS Most Wanted). Calling for backup (and Helicopter Support) will trigger this. Ending a callout from Albo's "Assorted Callouts" or "Traffic Policer" and finishing up with "BetterEMS" will also trigger new audio, changing "We are Code 4, no further units required" to "All Units you can clear this call, return to patrol". Pursuits are much more immersive. This has been a several weeks long process, with restless nights, and my 1'st mod. I'm happy to release it here for the community. Please let me know what you think of it, and enjoy.

Works with...

LPCallouts

PoliceSmartRadio

HeroCop

AssortedCallouts

TrafficPolicer

AgencyCallouts

BetterEMS

CodeRedCallouts

ArrestWarrantCallouts

PeterUCallouts

ArrestManager

VocalDispatch

Tacco's Highway Callouts

OJ's Plugins

Streetname Addon (All streets)

Standard Dispatch version works with just about any callout pack.

Installation : Simply drag and drop the provided folders to their designated locations. A ReadMe.txt has been provided for your convenience.

A special thanks to mikegolden Games and Gallonman20 on Youtube, for taking interest in this mod, and uploading videos about it. Please check out their channels, as they both do fantastic LSPDFR related Content, plus more :woot:

*Disclaimer* Audio used in these videos is outdated by about a year. These sounds were from the very beginning stages, and the mod is much more cleaned up these days.

What's New in Version 2.2

Released

2.2

If you don't like the Custom Dispatcher's voice, please download the "Standard Dispatch" version. Yes, I brought it back

I've updated this mod, to keep up with all recently released callout packs (including Tacco's Highway callouts released recently, honestly perfect timing bud)

Callout pack not compatible? Link me to it, and I'll see about adding that in. I won't add it if it's no longer a supported plugin however (meaning, incredibly outdated and buggy). The callouts I have now, I have personally verified that they are working properly on the latest RPH and version of GTA.

Thanks heaps for the vanilla dispatcher tweaks so I don't have mixed audio. Makes this even better now. The fact it now provides street names, numbers, etc. is a great addition to immerse players in the game.

Is it me or does dispatch not say code 4 anymore? or is it this file?

Depends on which version you use. In the Custom Version, I had to mute that file, and it was replaced via other audio files to say "All Units you can clear this call, return to patrol".

However, with the "Standard Version", all Dispatcher audio is left mostly untouched. The only changes to her in the Standard Version are the "uhhhh" audio, which I've removed. I highly recommend the Standard Version at this point. Hope this helps

@antiboy6 LOL as much as I'd love to have Officer Winslow in my game... There sadly wouldn't be enough variation, or situations for the audio to be used, which would lead to repetition. Repetition was a pretty big negative about this mod when I first launched it, so I've learned my lesson there. But if ever we start getting more Officer audio variation, then I'll absolutely start adding stuff like this in!!! Thanks for the feedback bud

I agree with @Steele1925, however, there are some games that offer the variation needed. It's the mods that lack the additional audio "slots".

Ah, then with the standard, I don't believe those other plugins are in need of an update. But I'll go ahead and look into it for ya :)

Lol I hear you. Just remember to always reinstall my audio over (after) any new plugin you download, including updates to plugins. Those will override mine

What happened to the lower tone dispatcher voice?

Well most people simply didn't care for it. So with the amount of work required to make it work with all of the Plugins, it just sadly wasn't worth it

Edit: However, here's how I did it, just in case you'd like to give it a shot.

Audacity is the program I use.

Open the file you'd like to change in Audacity "AREA_ALTA_01" for example

Click "Effect"

Click "Change Pitch"

Regardless of the two numbers shown, replace the first with "800" and the second with "700".

That's it

Excellent addition to my game, however, can you PLEASE include both audio folders with the original dispatch voice file?

I initially installed the modified pitch dispatcher voice, and noticed that there were some call outs that used the original dispatcher voice.

So when I downloaded your version using the original dispatcher voice, I noticed that the license plate audio files were not included.

Would definitely make switching back and forth much easier.  Thanks!

Yes I removed the Plate Audio files for the Original Dispatcher, because many people simply didn't like the audio going from the dispatcher in-game, to a dispatcher from NFS. It broke the immersion for some. For now it's on hold, until I can replace more dispatcher audio. Sorry bud

EDIT: Also, please remember to always reinstall the audio from this mod, over any plugin that you've updated. Otherwise, the audio from those will overwrite the audio from this. Though there are a few callout packs I haven't updated for yet.

Thank you.  I have also installed this last, as it was the last thing that I have added :)

Great progress thus far.  The "uh" was so stupid!

The description says that the mod supports Wilderness Callouts but I don't see them added in the build. Did you forget to include it?

Will you update this to fix the volume?  Some words are extremely loud.

Ah, yes I forgot to actually remove that from the list. I only update Callouts/Plugins that are working on more recent RPH builds. Sorry about that buddy.

From what I can tell, this issue occurs whenever the plate is read by the dispatcher with PoliceRadio. Sadly, I haven't found a fix for it. It's not the files themselves that are loud, but something causes the middle section of the plate to be louder whenever the pitch is changed (as with the CustomPitch version of B.D.A.).

Tried multiple openers but still fails to download all files. Most say failed to identify file types, one opener asks for a password?
