BVABasic Vehicle Actions is a script modification that adds some simple vehicle functionality, including persistent braking lights, the ability to toggle the engine state, indicators, and parking mode. It also allows custom vehicle exit styles to better suit the user's gameplay.

 

DESCRIPTION
− BVA provides several simple vehicle features.
− You can toggle a parking mode (to save your vehicle), toggle a vehicle’s engine state, and use indicators, among other things.
− BVA allows for persistent braking lights whenever a vehicle is stopped.
− BVA also allows the user to choose an exit style (from 3 available) for both short and long presses of the vehicle exit button.
− BVA includes a seatbelt feature and the ability to shuffle vehicle seats.
− BVA includes custom sounds for added immersion.

 

NOTES
Consult the FEATURE INFO file to learn more about BVA and its features.
− The parking mode feature is disabled by default, as it may cause issues when using a controller.
− You may enable the feature in the BVA.ini file.

 

INSTALLATION
− A GTAV ScriptHook must be installed for any .asi modification to work. The original may be found HERE.
− Using script modifications in GTA Online can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the service.

− 1. Place the .asi and .ini files provided in the download inside your main GTAV game directory.
− 2. Modify the .ini file as you see fit.
− 3. Start your game.

Wow! Two mods in one day!!! Are you going to release a 3rd... maybe ELS! No dont worry im not going to be that guy that bombards you with comments asking for an ETA. Cant wait till that comes out though. Take as much time as you need, and keep up the good work. :-D

 

Now, if only Rage Plugin Hook could update for the retail version of the game so I can enjoy this while playing LSPDFR :-P :-D

Can you add the ability to lock and unlock your doors?  That would be awesome.   Would use your mod then instead of MoreControl V.  I like the idea of being able to "park mode" where it saves your vehicle.

Could u please add engine on sound after this nice keys sounds? And another one offer, how about add an option automatic radio turn on when enter the vehicle ? I never saw dat before. and its really useful for people like me who use police chatter sounds in the self radio

1. exit with keeping door open (press F)

2. exit with closing the door and engine keep working (hold F for the moment)

3. exit with closing door and turning engine off (hold F a bit longer)

It seems when holding down exit vehicle I actually get out of the vehicle before I've held the button down long enough to turn the engine off.

@TheUniT & @vladimir850: Careful, the vehicle exit style IDs (for use in the BVA.ini) are 0, 1, and 2 (not 1, 2 and 3). Additional information is available in the documentation included with the mod.

@Frank22564: You can change the keys by editing the options in the CONTROLS section of the BVA.ini file using the key IDs found at the bottom of the DEFAULT CONTROLS (BVA).pdf file, provided with the mod--that file also provides additional useful information.

@S0berDrunk: Yes, I would like that too, but it doesn't appear possible, at least right now.

@Mercuri: You can try the "Mouse Alt 1" and "Mouse Alt 2" codes from the DEFAULT CONTROLS file. If that doesn't work, you could maybe use your mouse software to reassign your mouse keys to mimic keyboard keys and in turn assign them to the mod in the BVA.ini

@AshHill07: You might want to try setting your "ExitTypLong" in the BVA.ini to 2 (i.e. exits vehicle with door closed and turns engine off) instead. You'll notice it is set to 1 by default, which makes the player close the door upon exit and keeps the engine on--which is useful if you want to manually turn off the engine by holding the 0 button (by default) prior to exiting the vehicle.

What do I have to put in the ini to disable a feature (not assign any key)?
The parking break feature conflicts with the run-the-red-light-feature from traffic policer, and I don't really see a point in using it anyway.

EDIT: I just saw the line to turn it off. One minute too late, sorry to bother you.

Question: Is there any conflict with LSPDFR in the computer menu. As in, if you are typing in a name that has an F in it, you will get out of the vehicle. I am currently using MoreControlV and it has this problem, I will probably switch regardless as I am just a fan of @Lt.Caine's work haha

Love this mod. Was wondering though could you add a turn tires ability to lock the tires in a direction when exiting a vehicle? Its the only thing keeping me from retiring MorecontrolV and using this exclusively. Unless that is what ParkingMode does, I haven't had a chance to really utilize that feature yet. And with parking mode do i need to hold down G before I get out of the car every time? All it does for me is blip my siren when I hold G.

@TheDude: No, a wheel lock is not yet available, but it's something I would very much like to add in the future. As for the parking mode, you don't have to use it--it's perhaps more of a role play feature--but think of it as putting the car in park, as that's essentially what it does. It prevents the car from moving and saves it in place at the same time (so it won't disappear if you desert it). You should hear a gear shift sound whenever toggling the parking mode. The red light on the dash will remain lit, and a blip will be added to the map indicating your car's position. The parking mode has nothing to do with the siren, however. So if G blips your siren, that might be due to a conflict with your horn button or another mod.

alrightie sounds good i look forward to the wheel lock. I sort of figured that is what parking mode was based on the docs which is why i had it disabled, just wanted to double check that having it off wasn't causing me to lose out on other features. Entity Persistence and the fact that i spawn my cars with the trainer keeps them blipped on the map which i guess serves the same purpose. Love the mod tho man and look forward to els oneday! ;)

I was reticent to use it, as I'm missing the wheel lock feature from MoreControlV, but oh man is this BVA mod good!

I found 2 issues so far:
- with @Albo1125 Traffic Policer mod, when I exit the vehicle leaving the door open I can't re-enter my car without shutting the door first. (I think it's related to the "autoLockDoors" feature in Albo's mod). Maybe you want to check this out with him :)
- sometimes the exit 2 doesn't work (I hold Y until my guy is out, but the engine still runs)

Last note: the sounds are a great addition! However I find them a bit too quiet (especially keys), and when you start your engine (or turn it off) you don't have the starting/stopping sound. Also, is there a way so that indicators do a "tick tick" sound? (if you know what I mean)
