Update 11/5/16: 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan has been added!

Previous users: The new FPIS has taken the police4 slot and the CVPI has been moved to police7. MAKE SURE YOU RUN THE UNINSTALLER PRIOR TO INSTALLING THIS UPDATE!

After a long wait, I am proud to finally release my LSPD Pack with ELS Style Lighting! This pack now includes a total of 7 Vehicles:

  • police - 2016 Chevrolet Impala Limited
  • police2 - 2015 Dodge Charger PPV
  • police3 - 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility
  • police4 - 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan
  • police5 - 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility
  • police6 - 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV K-9 Unit (slicktop)
  • police7 - 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

Demonstration video:

These vehicles have been under development for several months and are fine-tuned and should be relatively bug-free (knock on wood). The installation package will modify your vehicles.meta to allow multiple liveries for all vehicles as well as changing the handling line for the police and police3 slots. This can be easily undone using the Uninstaller package included in the download. All vehicles feature HD 4k skins made by @TrentMU and possess a variety of extras, including:

  • Setina Rambars
  • Stalker Radar Units
  • Panasonic Arbitrator Dashcams
  • Prisoner Partitions
  • Passenger-side Spotlights

Installation Instructions

  1. Launch OpenIV and select Grand Theft Auto V.
  2. Click Tools -> Package Installer.
  3. Select "LSPD Pack Installer 1.0.0.oiv."
  4. Click install and choose whether to install to your mods folder (highly recommended) or directly into your game (not advised).
  5. Launch GTA V and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: The package installer fails partway through. How can I fix this?

A: The package installer modifies your vehicles.meta to change just a few lines so that the vehicles will be multi-livery enabled and handle correctly. If you are having problems installing the package, please install a clean vehicles.meta into mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/ and then try again. A clean vehicles.meta can be found HERE. Alternatively, you can run the uninstaller package included in the download prior to reinstalling the package.

Q: My package installed successfully but my game is crashing while loading. How can I fix this?

A: If you experience crashing while loading, you probably don't have a gameconfig.xml configured to allow add-on cars. There are a few different gameconfigs which different people are reporting as working. You can find a gameconfig.xml to fix your crashing problem HERE, or if that doesn't work, HERE.

Q: I've installed the package but my lights do not seem to be working. They are showing up in the wrong places or not flashing correctly, why?

A: This mod uses a custom carvariations.meta to assign custom sirensettings to each vehicle included. If the lights are not working correctly, another mod you have installed is causing a conflict with this carvariations.meta. Please check all installed mods for a carvariations.meta file (it will be located in common/data/ within a DLC folder). If you have another carvariations which assigns a sirensetting to police, police2, police3, police4, police5, or police6, delete those vehicle entries from it and see if the issue is resolved.

Q: I've installed the package and my vehicles are working in game, but the lights are not bright like they are in the screenshots. How can I fix this?

A: You will need to install a light-enhancing graphics mod as well as set your Post FX and Shader settings to High. I would recommend installing Radiance V.

Q: I like this pack! Where can I find more vehicles like it?

A: Be sure to check out my Sheriff and FIB Replacement Pack here:

This pack is provided as-is with no form of warranty. These files are not to be modified, redistributed, ripped, or otherwise exploited in any way, shape, or form. These files are exclusive to LCPDFR.com and are not to be reuploaded elsewhere. When uploading textures, do not reupload the vehicle models. Upload the textures only and include a link to the original vehicle pack download.

Okay guys, for those who use Visual V, use this

It fixed my lights and the lights are sexy again.

You don't have to change the templates; unless you want to. Simply replace your visualsettings with mine. If you want different lighting colors/patterns or envir. lighting, you can use the carcols, too. I don't have any lighting issues anymore, minus models without coronas. Those never look bright at a distance.

Sorry just replacing the visualsettings.dat doesn't fix the issue for me. I'll try go all blue with the files in your pack now and see how that goes. Thx for trying to help though.

This just does make everything superbright to the point that some lights are now working as intended but others are way, way too bright (the chargers rear-light bar for example). I still think the issue is texture related (i.e. rearwindows and/or sirenlight-glass-texture).

Love the cars! I do have one quick question. How to I enable Police3, Police4, Police5, and Police6?

@Captain14 Do you have the Vehicles.meta for the police2? With the installer it did not add it in for police2, causing it not to work.

Needs a sedan FPI and a pickup truck and it will be golden!

That enables police 4(5)(6) to be used in the game, then use the RPH drop down and type spawn police4(5)(6) to spawn the vehicles

the problem is the window tint template located within each file. It is not metadata related, as you suggested . Try selecting and cutting the window tint out with Gimp2 and see if removing the tint completely helps. This is a common issue with models that have interior lights and manual tint.

PM me if you need the vehicles.meta for police2. If not, copy+paste the code line from update>update.rpf>common>data>levels>gta5>vehicles>vehicles.meta and copy+paste it to the vehicles.meta within the DLC.

It doesn't have police2 in there because it just uses the game's default police2 meta.

Yea I replaced the window dds on the impala with one from bxbugs models and that fixed it on that model. Will try to find some other models with fitting windows or do some editing myself. I can't seem to remember having issues like that before the biker-update. One of bxbugs chargers which was working nicely before suddenly had very dim rear-lights after for example. So there still could be a value to crank up somewhere that could also do the trick, but i'm no expert.

Btw your custom visuals seem to give the best results in the current game patch overall (not too bright, not too dim), so I can heartily recommend it also for this pack!

I appreciate that! Also, you are very right. The Biker DLC screwed everything up. I had default lighting set to around 100, now I have it set at almost 1,000. The Biker DLC dimmed the crap out of lights, so I'm glad I was able to find that comfortable equilibrium. As I said, sadly, the problem is with the model itself. I can't complain much, though, because the new models simply look to damned good!

Sounds good, I appreciate it, just some confusion on my end!

Same for me. You have to verify the integrity of the game cache through Steam to get it working again.

I am using a mixture of Redux and Visual V ! I am glad you love the screenshots !

They do ! You just have to add them in the Vehicle Components Menu !

shouldn't have to do that though so I just wont bother until its added

Hey @Captain14 really, really, REALLY!! Want to use this pack. Unfortunately every-time I install it, the game wont launch and I was forced to either run your uninstaller or copy my old files back. I am using your Sheriff and FBI models and this would fit perfectly. I've installed the gameconfig.xml and have tried installing that before and after your LAPD files but it's always the same, results in a crash. I've narrowed it down to your pack by playing before I installed the pack and after I've uninstalled the pack.

Let me know if anyone else has found a way to use this without crashing.

Thanks

When i install this pack along side the sheriff and the fbi. as well as installing the gameconfigure.xml file my game launches it gets past loading story at this time when it goes to populate the world right before my plugins load. it crashes and says game memory error.

Um where is the uninstaller? Also could I just delete the folder marked lspdpack in the dlc folders, would that uninstall it?

I have a question- I installed the pack, and everything looks AWESOME (great mod/vehicles btw!) but I only have one issue- on the Tahoe, the two lights in the back side windows are showing up over the hood. I've checked my carvariations and carcols and can't seem to find anything that would be throwing it off. Does any one have ideas of where else I can look or what else I can do to fix this? Thanks!
