Thread hijacking but you have the wrong version of GTAIV. You need a legitimate copy and it must be patched to the latest version. Good to hear you got it working Mason.

You're not suppose to press alt-e to arrest... You press just e when aimed with the baseball bat or E whiled aimed with a gun and it should work fine...

You just need to import them into the correct componentpeds.img

For each car that is not ELS, change active=1 to active=0

Yeah I found that they had to be called police3/police4/policeb for ELS to recognise them, right on the money.

Ah Nutt I need some hints on how to add additional vehicles that are recognised as police (sirens/computers) :( Do they just have to specifically be named police3/4/b? Also do you happen to know of any way for ELS to activate on vehicles in a custom/extra vehicles.ide edit: may have just figured it out, but I'm still interested in how you managed to get specific peds to spawn in specific vehicles. EDIT2: I can add cars with functioning sirens and functioning ELS but can't open the LCPD or the LCPDFR computer in them, is that able to be overcome?

Oh hm fair enough, reboot your pc first and then I think my only other suggestion if it still doesn't work is to remove any mods you have, then reinstall the game and start fresh. Then start a new game, finish a couple of missions and then save and then install the mod. Sorry but the problem isn't really as obvious as they tend to be here so I'm running out of ideas.

Try deleting the xliveless files from your root directory and then installing the mod again but choosing to install dsound instead.

So what mission loads before it crashes? Or does it just say loading? edit: actuall you are using xliveless so they are saved elsewhere, i think my documents/rockstar games

Windows key + R will open the run dialogue box, type %appdata%

If you have corrupted your save file on the previous install and it wasn't specifically deleted the game will still try to load it. Make sure that AppdataLocalRockstargamesGTAIVsavegames is cleared out, then try to play.

Are you sure you are pressing the alt key and P? What happens if you press ctrl and f12? What version of lcpdfr did you download? Please install #1 in my signature.

So did you ever delete the corrupted save file?

You should import it so it overwrites one of the existing _sign_1/2/3/4 textures. Do you have liveries enabled for the car?

I don't know why people insist on using paint when you could at least be using paint.net, GIMp or http://pixlr.com/editor/ In terms of your problem, what do you mean they aren't working? If you are replacing the right image and then saving it and then saving the archive after you are done, there shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you have added +livery to the vehicle in the vehicles.ide too if it has multiple liveries.

Check you have installed the traffic mods correctly. Traficflow goes in your gtaiv/scripts folder. What are your PC stats?
