  1. http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta-iv/script-mods/2635 Google bro
  2. It looks like it's having lots of trouble with protected memory. Make sure your gta iv folder and any files inside it are not read only (right click, property, untick read only) and make sure you run the game through launchgtaiv.exe as administrator.

Well if you do it right steam doesn't really care where the game files come from as long as it can verify their integrity.

I've gotten probably ten or since rc2-r2 came out but really you have to think; now that ai police will usually join in the pursuit on their own how different are they from the pursuit callouts? Actually I guess the random nature of them just zooming by makes them more exciting.
  5. If you weren't using the police computer, how would you run them through a database? Do you mean like using the radio? Although that's a good idea, it isn't a feature at the moment.
  6. I've been trying this and I'm having an issue; the vehicle spawns (in the middle of the road), the selected ped gets out and a regular civilian ped drives the vehicle away. The selected ped soon despawns if I turn my back. The same thing happens using the securityman ped and the stockade armoured car. Is this something to do with my selection of peds? Or the fact I have passengers selected to spawn in the vehicle? Or is it just an issue with the mod? It didn't seem to happen when I put police peds in police cars (like a swat team).
  7. There is a difference between a checked box with a tick and a checked box with a coloured box. Go to gtaivcommondata and highlight all of the files in there and make sure none of them are read only. Also, when you run the game are you right clicking launchgtaiv.exe and clicking run as administrator? You might also try reinstalling the mod, see if that changes anything (but again, make sure you RUN THE INSTALLER AS ADMIN and that the DATA FOLDER AND FILES ARE NOT READ ONLY.
  8. go to the gtaiv or grand theft auto iv folder in your program files (probably in a folder called rockstar games), right click the folder, go to properties and un-thick read only. Then click apply and ok.
  9. Ensure you run the game as administrator and that as many files and folders inside the game directory are not ready only.
  10. ELS

Ekalb replied to cp702's topic in Discussion
I believe it is a check the mod does to see if you have ELS activated on your police cars so that when the mod spawns cars in particular instances (like for a shootout call, cars are already spawned at the location) or when you call them for backup, they have ELS lights activated rather than if it simply only activated the vanilla siren.
  11. I don't think it's possible for the end user to change but it is something that can happen, suspects can pull weapons at any stage to my knowledge/experience.
  12. Well yeah they're a bit of a different case since they pretty much are local police/state police/federal law enforcement all in one convenient package
  13. Nope po·lice state Noun: A totalitarian state controlled by a political secret police force. Federal police force is sort of a broader term, it only applies so well to Australia because we have consolidated a lot of federal law enforcement functions into the 'Australian Federal Police'. In America you could say that it'd definitely mirror the FBI and US Marshals. RCMP I don't know enough about to compare it. RCMP as it currently stands sort of does everything we have discussed, local/municipality law enforcement and national policing operations.
  14. Nah it was to the OP, he mentioned 'police states' but then went on to talk about state police. The former being a nation (state=country/nation) that is under control-dominated policing and forceful government regulation and surveillance (what all the screaming liberals are claiming every western country is becoming) and the latter being the organisation of police officers that enforces laws in their jurisdiction of a state (state=division of a country).
  15. Don't confuse state police with a police state. A good example is Australia. The country is divided up into a number of states and territories with its own laws and government (but they are inferior to the federal government and federal laws) and each state has its own police force to enforce to enforce all of the state's criminal laws but only within the borders of that state. Although Australia's policing is very centralised and bureaucratic it's a good way to explain it. When you look at America with a lot less of a centralised service (county police forces, sheriff's offices and then state police and then your federal authorities) you can understand it but a bit differently. In the United States you have the country police and sheriff's offices that are responsible for just local areas and state police that are primarily involved for more serious crimes or crimes that cross counties (but only within that one state). There is also the federal police that enforces commonwealth (federal) law across the country and around its borders.
  16. The street names under the minimap are an ELS feature for ELS enabled vehicles as Justin said. You can also press T to view the street name you are on or you can download the google maps style minimap mod.
  17. It's a good idea I guess but there's nothing really concrete that suggests multiplayer crashes less unless there are conflicts with singleplayer missions. Just ask anyone who has tried to play a few multiplayer games with people - MP games of LCPDFR are quite prone to crash. It's worth a shot though but it won't fix everyone's problems.
  18. Reinstall the mod, run as administrator and make sure the files and folders within your gtaiv directory are not read only. You are missing an asi loader (dsound or xliveless) and the scripthook tool which are both essential to running the mod, they should install when you run the lcpdfr mod installer (AS ADMINISTRATOR)
  19. Actually I think I experienced a similar issue, I have police3 in a 'newvehicles.img' added to my gtaiv and it occasionally will spawn with no driver. One thing I'm attempting is to have a group of escaped prisoners spawn in a vehicle. I tried it originally with them spawning in a police car but I couldn't pull it over so I'm trying with a taxi or just another average car, this should work, right?
  20. Hit the tilde key (` next to 12341567489) and type 'spawn vehiclename. Eg. spawn police2 or spawn noose
  21. Use winrar if you want to extract the diagnostic tool and run it as administrator.
  22. You need the latest patched version of GTAIV to play LCPDFR and SNT is up to you. I've gotten through fine without it.
  23. You have slightly better specs than me and I didn't really have any problems running them both (els v5).
  24. You download the G17 diagnostics tool and run it and it should give you a summary of what you have installed with regards to the game and the mod. I should add that installing and using dsound rather than xliveless is preferred. Also, while we are in the prelim stage of things; Do you have a legitimate copy of grand theft auto IV that you are using without a crack?
  25. If that's the case I don't think it's related to the game at all. Maybe your keyboard or your keyboard settings. Either way, if it works for you then that's the best outcome we could get to.
