  3. Hey Abraxas how many different hideout locations are there across the map?
  4. I doubt that PSU is enough to handle everything else. Don't you already have a thread on this?
  5. Whoever UV mapped it did a poor job and missed the edges of each panel
  6. Damn it Harper! I just was looking through OpenIV and saw the Schafter and thought 'hm this'd make a good marked and unmarked police car project, I wonder if anyone has tried it before'. I'd like to see how it progresses.
  7. I love the look of that unmarked with with the simple red beacon on the dashboard, looks so very slick.
  8. Well I guess that could be simple enough to do since some cars already do it (I think the Rebla and the Sentinel spawn with certain extra part configurations only in Hove Beach) but on top of that I'd love it if you could control what livery spawns with what extra configuration, so that we wouldn't have the issue where unmarked cars spawn with full lightbars but perhaps I'm being a bit too ambitious here and perhaps that isn't really that big of a deal.
  9. How often will a bait car theft turn into a hideout/chopshop mission? Are there any influences on this (ie geographical location, type of car etc.) or is it just random? It's great that it isn't too common but I'm just wondering what the chances are as I've yet to have it happen. I haven't found any real problems with the script as of yet. I felt like some of the first few times I requested a bait car and positioned it, the police car I was in would disappear but I haven't had that happen since. I tried to use the policehelper to do a ped ID check but it just popped up with their details on screen and didn't give me options to do anything else. Is there something else I'm supposed to do in this situation that I missed or did it just bug out? (I think the suspect died while I was checking the ID so maybe that has something to do with it).
  10. He said 'Yo' and 'tricked out'? How is that hard to read? Very excited to get this installed Abraxas, it looks like it's running really smooth for the most part. I'm looking forward to what you do with this in the future and what else you come up with.
  11. You're probably trying to open the .wft or .wtd files that you're downloading instead of using a program like SparkIV or OpenIV to import them. Alternatively, you might be downloading archive (packaged) files, like .rar files and you don't have the correct software to open those (eg. winrar).
  12. http://support.rocks...ents-for-gta-iv Minimum: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz Memory: 1.5GB Free Hard Drive Space: 16GB Video Card: 256MB NVidia 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900 DirectX 9 compatible Stereo Sound Card Keyboard Mouse Further, playing the mod on a laptop without a numpad means you'll lose the speech functions and the non-els light pattern functions.
  13. Are you new to computers? It just means that you're trying to open a file that has a format extension that you most likely don't have the usual software to open. What kind of file is it?
  14. That doesn't sound like power surge protection.
  15. (Un)fourtunately I'm enjoying vehicle modelling too much now so they aren't too high on the priority list. Eventually though. Sorry What do you mean? I'd love to attach some of the LED lights in the underside of the MX7000 to the headlights and the indicators so you can control them, but unfourtunately I don't believe that is possible when it is an extra part and not always attached to the vehicle. If I was to make the Mx7000 lightbar more functional with those features, it'd have to be the only and permanent lightbar on the vehicle. That's a bit too ambitious I'm afraid. As I've mentioned before, I can only have a maximum of 8 non-els light coronas (dummys) in total per police vehicle. Thanks for the feedback, I believe all I need to fix up is some collision issues and both the Vapid and the Buffalo in Slicktop/Mx7000 configuration should be ready. Edit; Ahh i went to put a traffic advisor bar in the back of the Buffalo with the mx7000 and realised I'd turned it into exactly what LtCaine made years ago. Frustrating. I'd love to but if I was to keep the FS Streethawk on it i'd have to make a couple few sacrifices; Only 4 lights in total on the lightbar, as opposed to the 6 that are on it now No traffic advisor bar attached to the lightbar (otherwise the slicktop spawn wouldn't have rear indicators) The 8 light limit for non-els cars is where some of these amibitious ideas fall down. Interestingly though, having alternating light setups like what I'm trying to do here are not something that I believe ELS cars could do, and also unfourtunately not a problem that I believe the Illumination mod would be able to solve either. Also if anyone wants a modding project to do - how about a script mod that could spawn cars with specific extra part configurations and specific liveries? This would avoid the 1/8 chance that these cars have of looking a little awkward with a big police lightbar but no police livery decals. It could also mean that you could have police2 spawn in Alderney with an Alderney State Trooper livery and a MX7000 lightbar but then also spawn in Algonquin with an LCPD livery and a Whelen Edge lightbar, all using the same vehicle slot. I'm not sure how possible this would be though.
  16. With some awesome help from f5544 by way of his Mx7000 lightbar, I've thrown together this. It'll be a slicktop/lightbar version of the vapid so that it'll spawn half the time with the mx7000 and half the time with grill and rear deck lights (as slicktop/unmarked). It looks like I'll do something similar to the Buffalo too but I've done lots with the Buffalo recently so it's time for a change! I've also made some changes to to the indicator and breaklights of the Vapid cruiser again. If anyone uses the current Vapid mods I have out, the taillights are attached to the back of the light and the indicators are attached to the side section. What I've done is attach the bottom of that light to the indicators and the top to the taillights, more closely resembling recently model crown vics. Can I get some opinions on which setup you guys prefer?
  17. You really haven't given us enough detail to make a decent judgement CPU? Specific Graphics Card?
  18. If you have something mapped to a vehshare texture (like the lightbar) and you add that texture image to the vehicles wtd file and edit it (make sure you keep the file name the same), it should appear with the editted version ingame. My understanding is that the game will look for the textures in the .wtd file first, and if they're not there it will look for them in the vehshare files as.
  19. They're just very rare man, you'll have to wait for one to happen. Really they aren't too different from a suspects fleeing pursuit or a fail to stop pursuit. The only difference is that there's already a number of police units following them and that you can join/leave the pursuit at any time. They are exciting though, how they just zoom past and you have to spring into action.
  20. Random pursuit-in-progress world events are rare but as long as you have rc2-r2 installed they will still happen. I'm pretty sure I've had 3 or 4 since the release of that version.
  21. Yes, removing the hubcap should be easy enough. All you have to do is delete it from the one visible wheel and it'll work for all the wheels since they are all essentially duplicates of that one. Moving the numberplate will probably be easy, changing the shape of the actual boot may be a bit more of a challenge.
  22. Alderney liveries coming up? Looking forward to them, I could do with a change from what I've got over that the at the moment.
