Hazard Systems 90 Series Lightbar with Messageboard
- 574 downloads
- Version 1.0
Contained here are two variants of the 90 Series lightbar distributed by Hazard Systems, one with LED modules and another with halogen lamps. The lightbar is currently not prepared for compatability with the Emergency Lighting System Mod. An interesting component of this lightbar is that it features an LED messageboard that is functional when used in conjunction with any mod that allows the player to control the vehicle's indicators, such as the Indicator Script or the Strobes mod. Although the vehicles included in this package will function correctly ingame if you wish to test the lightbar out, it is intended more as a resource for modders to include on their own vehicles. CREDITS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lightbar: Original Whelen Edge lightbar created by KevinDV, Additional modification to non-els by Sam. Other: Crown Victoria base vehicle by Chasez, Lt.Caine, Bxbugs123 and Sam. UV-mapped Vapid police cruiser by Lt. Caine. NOTES ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are free to use this lightbar (or any modification of it) in your own vehicle mods, however if released to the public they must be accompanied by adequate acknowledge of the lightbar authors, namely KevinDV, Sam and Ekalb. To function with the indicators, the LED messageboard is made up of two components, one that is attached to the right rear indicator and one that is attached to the left rear indicator. Templates have been included for custom messages or to allow you to create your own. The halogen takedown lamps in the centre of the lightbar are attatched to the headlights of the vehicle so they may be controlled with them by the player. Please report any bugs you find so that this resourcemay be improved.- 14 comments

Extend the flash radius of non-ELS lights???
Do you mean the little ball of light around the lights themselves or the larger lighting effect? For the actual ball of light, try the coronas mod.

How many bought GTA IV just for this mod?
I actually got the GTA complete collection when it was really cheap on Steam (like $17 for all the GTA games) sometime early last year after finishing GTA IV on xbox already. I don't think I ever finished the full GTA IV story again on PC, but I did complete TBoGT which I'd never played before. I've still got TLAD unfinished. I'm not quite sure how but one night I discovered a few videos of PPM and LCPDFR on youtube but what really got me hooked and to download LCPDFR (especially after trying PPM for a bit) was Unr3al's walkthrough videos. I haven't really touched the story in months, just LCPDFR and related mods have still kept me interested. Occasional (LCPDFR) MP is great too.

Glowing Console
Any polygons that you assign to a material called 'lightsemissive' will light up ingame when the car is turned on. As it is currently, that object is probably entirely assigned to a 'mesh' material. Simply find that material in your materials editor (press E to open it), duplicate it and call rename it lightsemissive. Then select the polygons you want to glow, press E and find the lightsemissive material you just created and hit 'assign to selection'.

Combining ped meshes (or: How to mix and match clothes for a ped)
Will do when I get home, thanks cp. Maybe i've just the numbers in the .wtd slightly off then. Hmm. On second thought.. maybe it'd be easier if I uploaded the actual files and let you check them out.

Beach Uniform? (Shorts)
Hmmm how'd you do that? Did you edit the model at all or did you just grab the m_y_cop lowr and delete the textures for the pants, leaving only the textures for the equipment with everything else transparent (would that show correctly ingame..?)?

I put more effort into solving your problem than you did champ.

Beach Uniform? (Shorts)
See CP's tutorial for combining ped meshes, it might help you get what he's saying here. Basically you'd grab the torso mesh and the head mesh from the m_y_cop, then you'd look at the other ped models until you find the lower body mesh for shorts (eg. the tennis player) Then you'd combine them into one mesh so it'd have the cop head and torso with the tennis player's lower section (there's no separate meshes for legs/pants/feet, they're all in one mesh called 'lowr'). You'd obviously just have to retexture the shorts so they look less like tennis shorts and more like a police officer's shorts. The colour of the leg skin might have to be edited a bit to match the head/hands skin colour. From here all you'd need to do is find a way of adding the police equipment belt which you could either do by actually editing the model for the lower meshes and combing them into one or just by using an suse mesh with the equipment on it.

Temp. car for the polpatriot, until the convert for nfs ford interceptor utility.
Ooo this could be really cool. See if DLer is interested in doing skins, he has done lots of good stuff in the past and I think he enjoys lore-style vehicles

Combining ped meshes (or: How to mix and match clothes for a ped)
Sorry for the bump but I don't think it's really a topic that is temporally bound... This is amazing information, thanks heaps cp. I've combined the following pants with belt from m_y_cop (000) short sleeve torso from m_y_cop (000) long sleeve torso from M_y_cop (001) Heavy vest from ciadlc (002) FIB jacket from ciadlc (003) with three cop heads (Latino, black and white from Custo's set) I'm having an issue though in that I'm having pretty much all the textures for the upper sections showing up in game for the heavy vest mesh. This is my .odd but the issue doesn't seem to be in here (unless anyone else can see it?). The image names in the .wtd file look fine too. Also, has anyone managed to find a way to alter the position of meshes using this method?

Question on Vehicle IDE File.
I assume that the first 'admiral' indicates that the model to use is admiral.wft and the second 'admiral' indicates that the texture file to be used is admiral.wtd So you should have no reason to change them really.
