That's actually pretty plausible, and I just got rid of my Jay Day flags (we all know how that ended) so this should be fun. There should be several files in the pack (police, police 2, noose, etc). Simply install the ones you like, and skip the others.

Hey, I would recommend reading this tutorial (http://gtapolicemods.com/showthread.php?3018-Add-New-Car-GTA-IV-Not-Replacing) as there are more steps involved than just adding the files to the img archive, when adding (and not replacing) a car.

You could probably implement it yourself (or if you are lucky, download someone elses mod) when LCPDFR v 1.0 is released with help of the API which will enable you to create your own callouts and missions.

But where's the fun in that? :p

You would have to format your harddrive and install Windows 7 over it, alternatively partition the harddrive and install Windows 7 on that partition (keeping Windows 8). There is no way to downgrade.

Did you remove the car pack (by reverting to a backup) and tried launching the game again?

The commandlines -norestrictions and -memrestrict 943718400 cancel eachother out. Consider using this one instead (overwrite): -renderquality 0 -shadowdensity 0 -texturequality 0 -viewdistance 0 -detailquality 0 -novblank -norestrictions -percentvidmem 100 -minspecaudio -novsync -renderquality 0 -frameLimit 0 -nomemrestrict

I don't think that's true. GFWL does ban people for mods (I think). Steam allows mods on their servers too, just not official ones.

Because GFWL is terrible, and I am glad it's going away. Hopefully it'll be ported to another service. (Socialclub, Steamworks etc). Bioshock got moved to steamworks so there is still hope.

Well, if you checked in that other thread it's for all games connected to GFWL. That includes GTA IV multiplayer. Unless it's moved to say.. Steamworks.

There's a discussion about it here ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>). I couldn't really care less. GFWL is awful.

What Vic said. + that GTA IV is a crappy port, it lags even on high end computers.

That^. It's all depending on what ISP you are using, and what you pay for. Make sure that you aren't using any network-heavy programs when downloading stuff either.

It's your card I would say, it's not powerful enough to run GTA IV. But, to circumvent a less powerful computer, and maybe get the game up and running, create a txt file called “commandline.txt” (without quotes) in your main GTA IV installation directory and insert the following lines: -renderquality 0 -shadowdensity 0 -texturequality 0 -viewdistance 0 -detailquality 0 -novblank -norestrictions -percentvidmem 100 -minspecaudio -novsync -renderquality 0 -frameLimit 0 -nomemrestrict
