GTA IV is a fantastic game and rarely crashes for me. As Mustu said, mods will make it worse. Like a lot worse. And I do not mindlessly kill civilians, I police.

It does the same as Dsound, but it will disable Games for Windows Live. You can only use Dsound or Xlive, not both at the same time.

I recommend you to read the readmes of all your mods to make sure you know what they do. It's all listed in them + their corresponding ini files.
