In Florida the pursuit policy is essentially the same as yours it has to be a "felony" to chase them. Now you would still need approval from the Patrol Sgt or your supervisor and i think theres alot of factors involved in the decision because of risks and liability. I actually ran from the police ( when i was young and dumb) and the officer activated his lights and sirens but i turned my lights off and dipped and the officer turned off all of his emergency equipment off and stopped following me. Now at the time i didnt think i had done anything wrong and was like f##$ the police. But afterwords the officer told me i looked suspicious because i was parked in a parking lot after the business was closed so he initiated a traffic stop. He also stated he didnt like chasing people in residential areas because it was too dangerous. So i understand both sides of this and i dont think that we should abolish all pursuits because that will set a dangerous precedent. However we cant allow the police to chase every single person that attempts to flee and elude them for minor traffic offences because its just not worth the risk to the offender, the officer, and the public.

This exact situation happened at my middle school and the swat officer was cleared of any wrong doing. Everyone was outraged asking why didnt they shoot him in the arm or something, but if you know anything about Law Enforcement you are trained to shoot in the upper mass and to stop the threat not wound the threat and hope for the best. The parents of the student tried to sue but i dont think they won. Both of these events are tragic but unfortunately as a Law Enforcement officer you have to make life or death decisions in seconds and you dont have time to determine if the gun is real or if its even loaded. Are the parents of this child and the community going to be outraged? Of course and that is understandable but you have to put yourself in the officers shoes. And anytime you bring any type of gun into a public area you are just asking for this type of thing to happen so why did the kid do that in the first place???

The title is misleading as usual but i think our schools can only do so much and i think you have to keep things as general as possible to ensure everyone gets a fair education. However i do think that they could do more to prepare students for their career before they leave high school. In my high school you were able to do dual enrollment so you could take classes at the local state college in different career fields. I think this is really the best way to go because not only do you get a jump start on your degree or certificate you get accustomed to college you get an glimpse of the field you thought you wanted and can decide if that's what you really want to do with you life. I think it would be a waste of our resources to teach students how to work at Mcdonalds or be a cashier at Wal mart. For most low skill jobs all the training you need to do the job is taught to you on the job. Our education system is there to lay the groundwork and its up to each student to take care of the rest, you cant teach someone common sense.....

I really think GTA V will run alot better on the PC they have learned alot since GTA IV GTA V on the consoles really exhibits that. And they also pretty much got to redo the whole game again for next gen and the PC so its going to be the best GTA we have ever had. On another note i don't think the required specs will be as ridiculous as AC Unity either. Im not really sure what the deal with that game is but the specs required for Farcry 4 are alot less so i dont know. However im sure you will have to have a decent computer to run GTA V optimally. I also cant comment on how AC Unity runs as i have to play it on the PC.

I love the Just Cause series! I just hope this map is faster to travel than the last. It was ridiculously huge!

I think it really just comes down to supervision and checks. I actually work in compliance so i understand the challenges of being the 'Police' in the room. Before i send something out or correct someone on something i usually confer with my colleagues to ensure im making the right call and im not coming off like a total asshole. And unless you have like a moderators manual with policies and procedures for every type of situation a moderator may encounter there is no way to eliminate the disparity between different moderators actions. Every moderator comes from a different background and has a different personality so they may have different tolerance levels for certain things and not for others. Thats just the way it works just like one cop may give you a ticket while another cop may just give you a warning. Discretion is a double edged sword. However i dont think the moderators here are out of control or anything i think this community has just really grown and people are creating alot of off topic topics that are controversial in nature and they can get out of hand. Thus moderators are forced to act but i think they have really given us alot of leeway in terms of what topics we can discuss such as this one.

That trooper is crazy! But this a very interesting technique but i could see some idiot not realizing they are also being pulled over and just keep going and whos knows what would happen to them. I also kinda see this as an officer safety issue because you are pinned between two cars and oncoming traffic cant really see your emergency lights because there is a car directly behind you obstructing the view.

Oh no im more than pleased with what they have done with the the next gen versions and i understand that doing this way basically gave them the opportunity to make the best possible version of the game. And because of this the PC version will be the best one to date. I think this will be the best GTA because of the unique console cycle. All im saying is they should have given those that bought the previous gen game some kind of discount or better incentive to purchase the next gen. I think the same goes for the PC version, it just looks bad.

You obviously have bias on this issue, Rockstar is the only developer that treats its PC fans like second class gamers. I can promise you that i have bought every single GTA game i have owned because i love the games and want to support this genre. However, i dont think its fair to make us wait a year or more just to ensure they get every last penny out of their game. Piracy just like theft and robbery will always happen thats just the way of the world but i think Developers have really taken the wrong approach to the issue. Not releasing or putting PC versions on the back burner just makes the problem worse. Why should i pay for the PC version when you didnt even care about making it and it probably doesnt even run well. Piracy is not the biggest threat to PC gaming, as you can see many exclusive PC games are thriving and making profit just well. Its the way Developers have basically thrown the PC to the wayside for whatever reason. If they actually give the same treatment to PC versions people would want to buy them in the first place. I personally love PC gaming, but some people like consoles and that is perfectly fine, but why is my preference less significant than theirs????

I've grown quite tired of this argument. First off Rockstar should release their PC versions simultaneously, like every one else. And secondly they never should have released their next gen version at the same times the new consoles arrived. The game came out like 2 months before they launched. So why werent they working on a next gen version this whole time? They release crappy PC ports because PC is an afterthought to them, after they have pumped us dry on their consoles they figure everyone will pirate the PC version so whats the point in putting effort into it. And the worst part is Rockstar hasnt offered us any discount or anything on the next gen or PC version. All they give us is in game currency..how is that going to help me pay for the game??? Ubisoft doesnt do this and it works out just fine Watchdogs runs fine on the PC and they were nice enough to release the PC version the same time as the consoles. I have no problem paying for games, because i support the developers. However Rockstar has completely thrown fan loyalty out the window on this one, and it has changed my view of their true intentions.

The only thing they can do is delay the inevitable, i believe in GTA IV if your game was pirated the camera would shake, but that was easily remedied. GTA fans are a very passionate and determined bunch and when we want something we get it. I for one wont be paying for the PC version, ive already paid rockstar twice for the same game and im not about to do it a third time. I understand they have put alot of time, money and effort into the game but i think they have made more than enough to cover all that.

The selection of cars is the largest to date, but people are still going to want more and add their own vehicles in. I dont think GTA V will have the issues that plagued IV. And the in game lights are pretty good on their own so i dont think we will even need els. I just hope we can modify them and enhance them and hopefully use the same system for modded vehicles.

I apologize i didn't elaborate further, i consider myself fairly liberal and i think that the US should really be more like Europe and the Government should do alot more for its citizens. Such as free healthcare, Not this sad compromise we have termed Obama care. And maybe at the first the party system seemed great when we only had like 2 parties but now we have like parties within parties and all these small parties such as Libertarians. I don't believe the party system is working because like someone else said its all about money and who can kiss the most ass to get donations. So we really need to take the money out of politics, because its not about the individual its about the agenda of the biggest contributors to that persons campaign. And if you don't want to sell your soul and pledge to the major parties, you don't even have a shot at getting in office. So how are supposed to have an efficient Government when we have essentially two groups that are fighting each other at every step???? The Democrats want more government and the republicans want less to zilch.. and then there's everyone else... I think that our society just doesn't care about politics or voting anymore.. and its a tragedy because we should be outraged at the actions of our elected representatives. There was a time when you showed respect to the President of the United States no matter if you agree with his politics or not, but now even our representatives are allowed to openly bash and criticize the President with impunity. And that is just unacceptable. And Obama wouldn't have to exercise his executive powers so much if our representatives wouldn't throw a tantrum and shut down the Government just because they feel like it. This is why nothing gets done, they need to act like mature adults and do they job we elected them to do. Obama's views are not radical, he has to compromise on everything because the Republican party has gone so far to the right.... We need to put these parties aside and come together as one United Nation, if not im afraid for what the future may hold.

I'm not pleased as i think im more of a democrat . I think that people are just voting republican because they are unhappy with Obama. I don't really agree with his actions either, but i dont really consider him a liberal democrat. If anything he will be remembered for being so moderate. I dont really care for our party system, the Government is supposed to serve is citizens and protect our borders not bicker like children.
