Microsoft Defender has incorrectly introduced a false positive detection for RPH in a recent definition update. If you're affected, you'll see RPH briefly mentioning 'Verifying Hook' and crash. It may not be sufficient to just exempt your GTA folder; To start RPH, it may be necessary to temporarily disable your AV. You can re-enable your AV when RPH starts and hooks successfully. Alternatively, you can cease using LSPDFR/RPH and wait for Microsoft to fix the problem.
  2. No. You can temporarily disable Windows Defender until RPH finishes loading, or if you have doubts, cease using LSPDFR/RPH until Microsoft corrects their error.
  3. Ambient.DisableAmbientGameCopSpawnBlock = false (default) makes LSPDFR call SET_CREATE_RANDOM_COPS(false) native. This stops the game from creating ambient cops on foot. I think it also stops ambient vehicle spawning cops. This has the effect of disabling popcycle/popsched based police spawning. Setting Ambient.DisableAmbientGameCopSpawnBlock = true, stops this call from taking place. You'd probably need to restart the game to see the effects of changing this flag as LSPDFR won't call SET_CREATE_RANDOM_COPS(true) to undo the above action. I don't think either option stops LSPDFR's own internal ambient cop spawns, controlled by agency.xml.

Yes, it is. Microsoft does not like the fact RPH is unsigned and when an update is pushed out, multiple people run it, and it flags as an anomaly to Windows Defender.
  6. Yes, the error message is telling you - your antivirus is blocking it.
  7. It's usually worth installing mods one at a time, to see what in your setup has caused your issues - making sure the game works between plays. With RPH crashing loading the LSPDFR DLL, usually this is caused by using an old SHVDN version, or your antivirus blocking it. I'm going with SHVDN.
  8. Can happen after RPH updates, and has happened numerous times before. If it does happen, it's usually not enough to whitelist the GTA folder, as RPH extracts to a temporary folder. You probably need to disable your AV temporarily to get RPH to work.
  9. You most likely have Windows Defender, as it comes with Windows.
  10. Usually early closing / closing during validating hook is your antivirus blocking it.
  11. Does GTA V load without RPH/LSPDFR?
  12. If crashes stop or LSPDFR starts working because you've renamed your mods folder, you have a GTA V issue or issue with your mods folder.

  16. 19:04:55.439: System.IO.IOException: Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software. Windows Defender (or other AV software if you have it installed) is blocking RPH from starting correctly.
  17. There's also one on GTA5-Mods if you don't want to use Discord; https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/kryst4lclr-s-gameconfig-updated-regularly
  18. Try temporarily disabling Windows Defender and see if it hooks into GTA5.

  20. Does it crash without RPH? Try going into normal GTA story mode.
  21. There's no widespread issue with LSPDFR/RPH and player numbers are now almost at pre-patch levels - no further LSPDFR or RPH patch needed! If you're still having issues, feel free to post in our support forums.

    https://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/141841-update-roundup-and-summary-for-gta-patch-v3258/ It's a known issue.
  23. If you updated the file, you would not have that error. So either you did not update the file correctly, or you are now receiving a different error, and should post a new RAGEPluginHook.log.
