Two men are dead, including the gunman, after a siege unfolded yesterday afternoon in the Industrial Sydney suburb of Ingleburn. Police say that the gunman opened fire killing one man and injuring two others, before taking several people hostage inside the building and then ending an hours long stand off with police by shooting himself. The shooting is believed to have started after a dispute about a sign between the two men broke out into an argument. I don't see those ones very often (as I live about hours away from Perth), so I mainly see the blue checkerboards. Those ones are cool though.

I lived in Dubai for over a year in 2008, unfortunately back then they didn't have any supercars like this, their fleet mostly consisted of SUVs. I'm not sure why they need all these supercars anyway, speed restrictions aren't enforced and everyone drives like an utter maniac. The only thing the police do is respond to accidents (of which there are many). I don't even think officers carry handcuffs.

I used to play the hell out of the first police level in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) on Xbox 360 in the CVPI. You had to bust 3 racers before they hit the finish line, I played it over and over until I eventually managed to do it in 14 seconds flat, which I believe is the record for the fastest time to complete that level. If I ever manage to remember my account password, I'll take a photo of my speedwall to prove I'm not bullshitting. Aside from that, I used to play Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 a lot on PS2, loved everything about that game.

Police over here use buses for breath/drug testing. They set up RBTs (Random Breath Testing), and the bus is used if the handhold tests come up as positive.

As Hank said, yep, these are the regular patrol cars here. If you think those are flashy you should check out the Highway Patrol vehicles.

I was watching one of those morning news shows this morning when they started talking about these idiots from Victoria who think it's funny to dress up in middle eastern attire and pretend to be terrorists. In this video, the "prankers" throw bags at people before running away. The ironic thing is that they are by definition, actually terrorists. Likely it was just the stock baton itself. I've seen a video of some Aussie cops smashing out the window of a car using them.
