  1. I think you are forgetting the name of the game. It's "Grand Theft Auto," not "Anti-theft Task Force." GTA will always be about being the criminal. If they decided to do a GTA style game with a police officer protagonist, it would be a different game.
  2. Problems, Feedback & Suggestions is meant for website support. I'm assuming you mean you want help installing LCPDFR, so moving to LCPDFR Support Requests. This topic has been moved to the appropriate forum. Please post in the correct location in the future.
  3. The 480 is so outdated that I'm pretty sure the 960 is better. Going any earlier than the 700 series isn't a good idea.
  4. It goes like this: the first number is the generation (or "series") and the second two numbers are what specific card it is. The 780 is better than the 960 because the 780 is the 7th generation 80 card, and the 960 is the 9th generation 60 card. Every card with the same second and third number (usually the third is 0, but there are mobile and non-gaming cards that have 5 as the third number) will have similar performance, but the newer generation of that card (the higher first number) will be better. You just need to separate the first number from the second. Instead of thinking of it as nine hundred and sixty (960), you need to think of it as nine-sixty (9-60). This may not necessarily be true from a technical standpoint, but based on the numbering system it would go like this (from worst to best): 750<760<960<770<970<780<980 I'm not sure if a "ti" would be better or worse than the same standard card in the next generation (i.e. whether 780ti<980 or 980<780ti; however I do know this would be true if the 980ti was out: 780ti<980ti)
  5. You can try removing AdvancedHookInit.asi. The game might start, but you won't be able to use the taser unless you manually install it.
  6. He most likely added the memory from having multiple graphics cards. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. If you have 2 cards with 4 GB of memory, you do not have 8 GB of memory. You only have 4 GB. Only one set of VRAM is used for now. I have read reports that the next version of DirectX will support stacking VRAM - then you would add the memory of all your graphics cards together. However, right now, you only use memory from one card.
  7. Please upload the latest diagnostic log located in your LCPDFR folder.
  8. Make sure you are using the ScriptHookDotNet.asi that comes with LCPDFR, and that you do not have a ScriptHookDotNet.dll (remove if it exists).
  9. Your log file doesn't show any errors with LCPDFR. If the game is crashing, it is probably because of the nature of GTA IV. Play with as few mods as possible to minimize crashing.
  10. LCPDFR Online Services are currently down. For more information, see: http://www.lcpdfr.com/topic/49645-everything-changes-the-new-lcpdfrcom/
  11. Please read the pinned "Rules for This Section" topic: http://www.lcpdfr.com/topic/45944-rules-for-this-section/ If you feel this topic has been closed in error, please report this post.
  12. Install this, choose x86: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679
  13. Install this, choose x86: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 Remove "MSVCR110.DLL" from the game folder, it doesn't belong there.
  14. Yes, merge the folders. LCPDFR adds new things to the PC folder, it doesn't replace anything.
  15. There is supposed to be a "LCPDFR" folder, leave that and its contents as is. You only shouldn't have a "LCPD First Response" folder. For some reason the diagnostic tool still isn't finding all of the dependencies...not sure why since they are clearly there.

  17. When you installed the mod, everything went into the "LCPD First Response" folder instead of your GTA IV folder. Drag all of it's contents out and into the main GTA IV directory. Sometimes the only solution to the game crashing on startup is to delete advancedhookinit.asi. It isn't a vital file, but it does do some additional patching to the game and automatically "injects" the taser.
  18. That isn't the latest version. It has been updated to 1.1: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/4607-lcpd-first-response/ Make sure you are using the latest version as old versions are not supported.
  19. Here's a tutorial on how to fully uninstall .95: http://www.lcpdfr.com/tutorials/index.action/script-data-file-modification-tutorials/how-to-uninstall-lcpdfr-095-r19/
  20. Install these: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 (choose x86) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
  21. Make sure the car is in a slot that supports rotators. I forget the entire list, but I know police and police2 work, but noose and fib do not. Basically, the rotators will work in any vehicle slot that has rotators by default, and not LEDs (police and police2 have rotator lightbars, while noose has an LED lightbar).
  22. Technically this isn't true. You don't "buy" the game, you buy a license to use the game. Rockstar still owns the game and can control it however they like.
  23. LCPDFR dynamically decreases the amount of traffic that spawns during pursuits so the roads don't get cluttered with abandoned cars, and so you don't have 999999 cops in pursuit. LCPDFR generally doesn't spawn backup automatically - it takes the cops that the game already spawned and has them join the pursuit. The cops that LCPDFR manually spawns are generally marked with a blue dot on the radar. Because the traffic density is decreased, less cops spawn in traffic, meaning there are less cops to join the pursuit. Like I said, this was implemented to prevent there from being an infinite numbers of cops in pursuit, but has actually resulted in having 0 cops in pursuit.
  24. Moving to GTA IV Discussion & Media since you are not making a suggestion for new LCPDFR features. This topic has been moved to the appropriate forum. Please post in the correct location in the future.
