Aguilar got a reaction from SgtCrambo in [REL] Keep Calm - "Keep Calm...I am a Police Officer"there's also that paranoid "look over their shoulder, fast-walk away - is he coming for me? YES HE IS I'MA GTFO *sprints*" reaction for the pedestrians. i honestly don't know to which extent one can determine those reactions, it seems to be pretty difficult, but i suppose that would be a nice alternative between the 2 extremes.
npc driver ai seems really dumbed down though.

Aguilar got a reaction from master1114 in Middle way between US and Germany?the door was briefly opened to a gap and someone fired what looked to be and sounded like a real gun at a police officer within arms reach. i think it's pretty plausible to assume that the officer knew what was behind the door when it popped open and gunfire went off in his face, even if the door was closed afterwards. going by your logic a guy could literally shoot at an officer from behind a corner and the officer shouldn't be allowed to return fire, as he doesn't know every detail of what's going on behind the corner. using firearms is always risky business and potentially dangerous to innocent bystanders, but it's not like there's much room for diplomacy or intricate investigation once the guns come out and the bullets start whizzing past you.
with that said, you're not likely going to count your shots when you're trading shots with somebody, nevermind at point blank range. popping off 1 round in a gunfight and hoping for the best is incredibly dangerous. shooting at someone 5 times might sound exaggerated to the general public, but i'd argue that mostly boils down to people not being familar with police tactics and taking what can be seen in movies for granted.

Aguilar reacted to AlconH in Middle way between US and Germany? If that's what was fired, then I completely agree self defense was justified. I thought he meant a bb pistol since I've never seen what was in that video before. That most definetely looks and sounds like a real gun. Can understand the response completely now.

Aguilar got a reaction from OfcWel247 in Crash on Load Upif anyone figures out a workaround to this, please let us know. i thought replacing the update folder with the UPDATED ones and then modding those would solve this, it didn't. now i'm seething with anger and semi-seriously considering purchasing a ticket to rockstar's headquarters in an attempt to find the person responsible, so i can falcon punch said person straight in the jaw because my lighting won't look as pretty as it did prior to the update.
edit:
nvm i'm stupid, that fixed it. flight cancelled.

Aguilar reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.2 - Stun Guns & MoreThis is the final part of our LSPDFR 0.2 preview series. For more information about the changes we're making with 0.2, take a look at the previous installments in this series, found here:: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/forum/880-news-updates/
LSPDFR 0.2 not only goes some way in addressing a lot of the feedback we received as far as features were concerned, but it also includes a large number of fixes for issues reported to us. A full list of these fixes will be published with the release, although among the things we sorted out are many of the frustrations people had with arresting, as well as traffic stop suspects reversing into players and the problems with detecting vehicles for traffic stops.
Aside from these fixes and the features we've already covered, there's still more to talk about. One of the big things that we saw people wanted was the return of the stun gun. Thankfully, with the inclusion of a stun gun in the game, this was quite an easy task unlike in LCPDFR. LSPDFR 0.2 introduces support for both the player and all AI officers to use stun guns. The AI support has been somewhat improved since LCPDFR 1.1, with more fluid animations and better mechanics in general thanks to the stun gun already being present in the game. Players are also now given a stun gun when going on duty, and we've been experimenting with AI configuration flags to make suspects tougher, so that they don't die after one hit - currently this works for all callout spawned criminals, and we hope to expand it universally.
Stun guns make their return in LSPDFR 0.2, with player and enhanced AI support. Shown is an AI officer drawing his.
One of the other main things that we've been experimenting with in 0.2 is audio. GTA V comes with a massive amount of police related audio which is fantastic, and we're looking to take advantage of this as much as we can. For 0.2, we've introduced a basic version of the Police Scanner seen in LCPDFR 1.1, with a couple of key differences:
The weird clicking noises between sounds have been drastically reduced. More variations of audio lines are present. You will now hear other officers talk on the radio too. Of course, this is still very much an experimental system and we'll be looking to make extensions and improvements in future versions.
As this is the final installment in this update series, instead of promising another article the next day, we'll promise something else: LSPDFR 0.2 - coming very, very soon.

Aguilar reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.2 - The Police ComputerThis is the second part of our LSPDFR 0.2 preview series. For more information about the background behind 0.2, check out the first installment in this series here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/51800-lspdfr-02-announcement-first-preview
I think by far the most hotly requested feature for the next version of LSPDFR was the resurrection of the police computer. A vital tool for those of you that like to add some detail to your patrols - the police computer makes it return with a vengeance in 0.2.
The new Police Computer is capable of searching both license plates and subject names, and will actually perform a real search on every vehicle or person currently in the game. If a match is found, it will then be returned to you via a notification after a slight delay. In essence, this is a very real implementation of the system, and we hope that it will be more immersive than our offering in LCPDFR, which felt fake at times.
The brand new Police Computer featuring both license plate and subject record searches.
Of course, to achieve this sense of immersion, improving the Police Computer itself wasn't enough - we also took some time to boost the quality of the data that it relied on. In early versions of LCPDFR, there were around 15 or so 'funny' names in the entire data pool. In later versions, there were literally thousands of names, all able to be dynamically generated, which was far more realistic, but also gave some really weird results at times. You might go as far as saying that it could feel as though everyone in Liberty City was named by a member of the British royal family or some crazy celebrity parent. At first, we used this same system in the early implementation of the LSPDFR Police Computer, but it simply wasn't good enough and really let down the system as a whole considering the new functionality that was there.
For those of you unaware, we were deeply involved in San Andreas Multiplayer (SA-MP - a multiplayer mod for GTA: SA) in 2012. As part of this, we ran a server titled Fort Carson Roleplay (FCRP), which was essentially a simulation of a small American town, where players could register on the server, make fictional characters and then spawn in the world to do any number of things like run a business, join a gang, be a cop, etc. FCRP quickly became one of the top 175 servers in SA-MP and had something like 12,000 registered accounts. Of course, long after its closure at the end of 2012, the masses of character data from FCRP were simply sitting on an old hard drive, collecting dust. Just a few weeks ago, I moved the data back over and thought that it would be nice to actually do something with it, and the development of the new Police Computer for LSPDFR seemed like the perfect opportunity. Indeed, LSPDFR now uses persona data from just under 3,000 FCRP player characters. We took it a little further than merely importing the names as well, with some other attributes from the server being recognised (making for some interesting easter eggs). The key advantage of this system, though, is that we have close to 3,000 names which were actually made up by close to 3,000 real people. Hopefully this makes things feel more natural, and will give some persistence as well if you see certain people more than once.
We will post the third, and probably final, installment of this update series tomorrow.

Aguilar got a reaction from underdone in RageHook and ScriptHookVi have the same issue. i've tried deleting everything in "startup.rhps" previously, didn't work for me either.
BUT here's how i worked my way around using the console at all; essentially you put all your plugins to writing in the startup.rhps file, include the "WarnOnPluginLoad false" line to play it safe.
WarnOnPluginLoad false
loadplugin "LSPD First Response.dll"
loadplugin "PlateChecker.dll"
loadplugin "speedradar.dll"
loadplugin "policeradio.dll"
mind you, this means lspdfr, platechecker, speedradar works from the get-go, but it doesn't change the fact that pressing f4 doesn't render the console visible. also the policeradio interface isn't visible, but it works. pressing "c" brings up the interface, "Z" will then initiate a platecheck, "T" scrolls down aaaand so forth.

Aguilar reacted to Sam in LSPDFR 0.2 Announcement + First PreviewFollowing on from the massive debut of LSPDFR on GTA V a mere two weeks ago, we're proud to announce the next installment in the series - LSPDFR 0.2 - featuring not only numerous enhancements and fixes, but also some highly requested features.
Indeed, while originally versioned as 0.1.1, the number of changes introduced in 0.2 seemed too significant to be represented by only a minor increment. LSPDFR 0.2 goes some way in adressing much of the feedback after the first public release and is our first response, pun most definitely intended, to thousands of the comments we've received since then through the forums, YouTube and social media.
From the electroshocking glory of stun guns, to a blast from the past with the LCPDFR style search areas and pursuit blipping, LSPDFR 0.2 packs a serious punch and is a major improvement from our first offering.
Asking for ID in traffic stops - one of the many suggestions that have made their way into LSPDFR 0.2.
For those of you familiar with LCPDFR 1.1, the lack of search areas and blips in LSPDFR pursuits might have been confusing. Fear no more, however, as we've reintroduced the system with much the same aesthetic style as that of before. There are, however, some notable improvements including the way in which each unit in the pursuit is now being uniquely marked on the game's map. This means that the legend at the side of the map can be used to highlight each different type of police vehicle currently involved.
We'll have more to share regarding the features in LSPDFR 0.2 tomorrow, when we'll move away from the pursuits and action sequences, and take a look at how 0.2 brings about better support of routine police work - something I know a lot of people are looking for.

Aguilar reacted to l3ubba in Wallmart And PoliticsYou do have the right to fly whatever flag you want. Nobody is banning anyone from flying the Confederate flag, they just don't want it to be flown on government grounds. I don't know where you are getting your information but it is very wrong. Please give me one source that the US is "denying people a basic right to wave a flag".
Companies aren't "banning" the Confederate flag, they are choosing to not sell that kind of merchandise anymore. They are doing this on their own free will, nobody has demanded that they do this. These companies have made those decisions themselves, that is called free market and while you and several other people on this forum are outraged that these companies for doing this you will say in the same breath that everyone should have the freedom to do what they want. So using your logic if someone wants to fly a flag they should have the freedom to do so but when a company decides (on their own free will) to stop selling a particular product it is an outrage? Do you not see the hypocrisy in that statement?
You keep bringing up your race, what does this have to do with anything? Do you speak for all black people? Does the fact that you are black mean that your opinion holds more weight? There are plenty of black people who do have a problem with the flag and there are plenty others who don't. Maybe it doesn't represent racism and hate to you but to others it might and if people read a history book once and awhile they would understand why that is a perfectly legitimate opinion.
Again, nobody banned the flag, they willing decided to stop selling it. I don't understand why you started this thread. There is already another thread that covers this topic, no need to start a whole new thread on the same thing. I find it extremely hypocritical that when certain bakeries refused to bake wedding cakes for gay couples the conservatives said "that is the company's choice and they have the right to deny someone" and not even 6 months later when companies are deciding to pull certain products from their shelves and refuse to bake a Confederate flag cake the exact same people are saying it is an outrage. It seriously baffles me as to how people don't see the hypocrisies in their arguments. Sometimes I wonder if these are really that blind to their own hypocrisies and they actually believe what they are saying is true or if they know what they are saying is hypocritical and not true but say it anyway to push their agenda. And yes you are right, lots of those corporations made those decisions based on people's opinion. That is what corporations do, they want to keep their customers happy so that those people keep coming back to their stores, this isn't a brand new tactic they are using they have been doing it for centuries and every business does it.
Thank God, someone else sees through all the bullshit and knows what is fact and what is fiction. I was beginning to think I was the only one here that didn't believe all the BS rhetoric that has been spewed out here.

Aguilar got a reaction from AngeloCosma in GTA V versus GTA IV handlingat the risk of repeating myself; i was a big fan of GTA IV's driving mechanics, hated V's mechanics for just about the same reasons you did and then some and i STILL came to the conclusion that this mod combines both the games pro-points regarding driving mechanis for better results.
so yes, this mod is well worth it. installation's easy too.

Aguilar reacted to FinKone in [WIP][REL][UPDATED 08/AUG/2015] Police Radio [Tow, Coroner, PlateChecker, Pit Request, Tackle Suspect... and probably more...]Introduction
Police Radio is a modification that enhances gameplay as a Police Officer in LSPDFR. It allows you to check license plates, tow vehicles, call coroner services, request backup for traffic stops, request K9 drug dogs to scan the car, have observations of the vehicle, question the driver of a vehicle in a traffic stop, andrequest pits on suspects. Each aspect of the modification will be explained further within the description.

READ WHAT IT NEEDS CAREFULLY. DCP1293 is maintaining this now - so bother him!!!
Police Radio FEATURES
Plate Checker Ties into LSPDFR to return correct names that go with the vehicle. Still need to add some improves in regards to a Stolen Vehicle being driven by the owner... :X PIT Request Pit Request allows you to perform a pit on a vehicle thats fleeing. Holding the vehicle in a stationary position for a small amount of time often makes the occupants run on foot. Barriers (only one type current, sorry NorthernAlex! One day...) Place barriers to make traffic yield or go around. Tackle If traveling at a decent speed, when behind a person you will be able to tackle them (E on keyboard, or A on controller) Tow Truck Removes vehicles from the scene. Coroner Removes the dead from the scene. Request Additional Unit for Traffic Stop You can request to dispatch to send you a additional unit if you need the upper hand At this first release, it is very basic, and can be some what dangerous at this stage. Use at your own risk. Request K9 Unit for Air Sniff You can request to dispatch to send a K9 unit that will air sniff around the car and attempt to find drugs if the user dones't consent to a search of the vehicle. Very basic first release, will improve over time. Observations Window You'll observe things as you approach the vehicle, and this can impact the over all traffic stop experience. Question Driver Window Based on your observations, you might want to consider asking the person a few questions, to include consent for search. Gives more point to using the K9 as a last resort. Whats NOT in this version?

Aguilar reacted to FinKone in [WIP][REL][UPDATED 08/AUG/2015] Police Radio [Tow, Coroner, PlateChecker, Pit Request, Tackle Suspect... and probably more...]First off - and I don't mean this in a negative way, I mean this in a stop filling my messages with the same message way - You cannot test it. If I want more testers, need more testers, I'll ask. I simply can't respond to all these "I promise I'll test it and never give it away" messages. There are code thieves out there, and until a proper obfuscation is found - I won't be publishing or giving it to untrusted sources. I totally understand why LMS/Sam operate the way they do now.
We are slowly approaching a good phase. Currently I need to add some improves to the spawning mechanic, add some more null-ref checks for for people/vehicles. Then I'll be adding additional options to Coroner, Tow (realistic/unrealistic) in the INI - the first being they spawn far and take time to get there, the second behind the plop down right onto it.
Believe it or not, by popular demand controller support is in and its all editable in the INI file now as well. Some options remain keyboard ONLY because they are not time sensitive and the controller just has limited options, but with that said, the INI in itself is growing into a little beastly thing that requires a good read.
I'll be adding randomized tow truck types, and even additional options (does he get out and take info, or not) and so forth, all which can be set and explained in the INI file, also most likely some motorcycle handling, or I'll rewrite the transportion method to defeat a lot of un-needed model checking, I'll be adding EVERYTHING that is currently in the current tow-truck mod thats out there, and more. Tow trucks can now be spawn'ed in heavy amounts, without issue however. They work on their own fiber, and have independent protection and logic.
Coroner now reliably collects all dead bodies within a certain area, and has protection to stop the user from getting into dangerous code. Null ref protection still needs some padding here and there, but I'm finding these odd things as I go. I still want to add animations/camera/flash - so if you know the location of CAMERA ITEMS, of PICTURE TAKING ANIMATIONS - throw me a line. This saves me time.
Pit request is being slightly improved, while reliable, and works well - the logic needs to be improved for letting people get a successful pit. This will improve as the testers keep voicing their demanding opinions.
Tackle Time is done in its most basic form. I will be expanding on this in the future - I don't want to say what it currently is, but I really really look forward to making this a solid mechanic. I'll also be adding a small speed boost to players using Police Radio so they can catch the mythical track runners, known as criminals of Los Santos.
CPR (yup... you heard right), CPR is implemented and about... 40% complete? If the person dies, it ties out easy. If they live I'm debating what route I need to take, in terms of giving the player the ability to either call EMS, or how I should handle it from there.... hmm. We'll see.
Plate Checker is gold as always, I keep meaning to add model color, expand on names, and so forth - but honestly I'm waiting on the LSPDFR API I think before I do that, because LSPDFR is going to have Ped Names that are in its system, meaning even if I make that list bigger, its all for nothnig. I want my mod to tie directly into LSPDFR, meaning if you pull over a driver, get his license with LSPDFR, I want his warrant status / name to tie into Plate Checker, or its just bogus software.
Barriers have been improved - vehicles not in a panic state will stop for them, rather then go into on-coming lanes. However... if everyone is spook'd, good luck to you.
What else...? ... Sure I missed something. That sit for now guys.

Aguilar reacted to cp702 in The Final Countdown - LSPDFR Trailer 2When accusing people of lying, it would be better if you'd do even the teeniest bit of research, which would tell you that Microsoft has a public beta/preview version out; getting it just requires signing up for it with a Microsoft account. Beyond that, Microsoft does have a program that gives developers broader access to prereleases; it's called an MSDN subscription, and it gives access to large amounts of Microsoft software, from versions too old to even be supported for customer use anymore to some prereleases of new stuff.

Aguilar reacted to parsa in LSPDFR Announcement + Preview
Hey man, It's not offensive at all to ask questions. GTA series always had the best surround audio. I listen to it and guess what is happening based on the audio. It's usually possible to find out where is the audio source coming from e.g gunshots/brawling, footsteps/car engines and such.
When i played GTA IV back a year ago, I used to memorize some trainer and LCPDFR menu options. I'd spawn a police car, idle in it untill I get a call that i could respond. Then I'd autodrive to the event's place using the trainer, It was very good. Oh and I use autoaim for arrests and shooting.
I could respond to shootouts/mugging/disturbance calls, those are easy to handle. No car chases or pullovers for me, though. Foot chases are hard, Sometimes you can't follow up with the sound of the footsteps. I'd call for one or two backups to help me with those.
Overall I had very fun with LCPDFR and the autodrive thingy on the trainer, all thanks to the devs of this mod.
Cheers
