  3. Nope, I did this in free roam with Franklin. Just upped my wanted level to 2 stars, shot a gang member, ducked when his friends fired back, waited for the police to engage them, and then dropped my wanted level.
  4. Yeah, I was looking for hand signals, but they either didn't happen because of the brevity (the whole incident was probably about 60 seconds long), I didn't notice, or AI won't do it on its own.
  5. Something kind of mentioned but glazed over was that the cops use pretty advanced tactics in shootouts. I went to a grove street controlled neighborhood, killed a gang member (getting about 15 or so people to shoot at me) and then used cheats to summon 6 or so LSPD representatives. They made a V shape with their cars when they responded, all ducked under cover there and took out most of the gang members from afar. One wounded officer was dragged behind a police car by his partner, who then touched his shoulder mic and radioed 'for an RA unit'. A few gang members had gone down a back alley to find me. The officers ran to the front door of their cars, grabbed shotguns (probably the coolest detail) and then moved in a cover-contact (They even called out "Push" "Cover me" "Moving up" when it corresponded to what they were doing) formation up the road to the last gang members. They killed the last guy, but didn't just imediatly drop their stances. The kept moving up until an officer had line of sight on the final perp. He called out "Clear", then everyone dropped the stance and stood around the bodies while the paramedics went to work. Suffice to say it was awesome.
  6. Yeah, it's like 2 led bars on top of each other, but only the bottom one flashes, right? I've seen it. It only appears in the mission where Amanda is arrested for shoplifting. I stealthed the cop out and took the cruiser, before noticing the funky lightbar. Unfortunately, the ensuing chase pretty much wrecked the car. This video should show the different lightbar. It's a hybrid between the old and new lightbars.
  7. I do believe these threads on the police subreddit would be of interest here: http://www.reddit.com/r/ProtectAndServe/comments/1ijf98/most_accurate_portrayal_of_leos_in_moviestv/ -- http://www.reddit.com/r/ProtectAndServe/comments/17953x/cop_shows_on_netflix/ -- http://www.reddit.com/r/ProtectAndServe/comments/18xodx/southland_tnt/ -- An actual LAPD Officer weighs in on 'End of Watch': http://www.reddit.com/r/ProtectAndServe/comments/1123xg/saw_end_of_watch_yesterday/ -- http://www.reddit.com/r/ProtectAndServe/comments/1eppz9/what_is_you_favourite_cop_movie/
  8. To answer your question, in the main options of SNT there is a setting called "Relationship settings". Click it, then set yourself to 'cop'. Now, even though if you commit illegal actions it'll attract police attention, the cops will treat you like another cop, not a gangster.
  9. Not sure what it is on Xbox, but press the 'interact with people' (right d-pad) button to detach a trailer. Back into it to reattach it. This works for tow trucks too. Not sure if it works in the water, of course you could always just jump the truck and trailer into the water and then mount the boat.
  10. Tip: To avoid the wanted level, enter sneak mode and do a stealth knock-out on the officer. It should take him out without giving you a wanted level. I enjoy doing this to security guards at the NOOSE building and I once pulled it off on a sheriff deputy that was searching for me.
  11. I will say that, in contrast with the police vehicles, officers look amazing. Seriously, go to the prison and look at the four or five different deputy models and Dep. of Correction guys hanging out there. Just make sure to run if they start yelling at you.
  12. Okay, maybe this will illustrate my point better. http://imgur.com/a/CWAiz
  13. Basically, I'm curious if there is a setting that controls the power of color (not saturation) of ped clothing. I've seen a lot of screenshots where the default officers have a very deep navy coloring, unlike the grey-blue of the default coloring, and were khaki or light blue uniforms remain bright. Examples: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> I've also achieved this with RealityIV timecyc mod, but I use icENHANCER 2.1 now and would prefer to stick with it. So, for those versed in creating ENB's or timecyc's, what should I tinker with? Thanks.

  15. Just open m_y_cop.wtd, find lowr_diff_000_a_uni, drag it out, color the tan bit at the bottom black, and then import it back into the .wtd. Save, rebuild, and you're done.
  16. Thank you guys! For those who wanted the SWAT guys standing up, here's my tutorial on how to do that: http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/player-ped-modification-tutorials/tut-how-to-make-the-swatnoose-peds-stand-up-and-use-their-rifles-correctly-r50
  17. So, I'm not sure if anyone else has had this, or if I just goofed in zmodeler, but I've noticed that lights tend to stick on 'unofficially' on >this cvpi model. You can see what I mean in this album. The lights do not caste on the road, and I can still toggle on/off my headlights or use the strobes mod normally, but these lights stick on none the less. Anyone else had this problem, or am I just a noob?
  18. Holy crap, it's been 4 years? Man, G17 is a freakin' dedicated team. I think the most impressive things is how the community has grown in these four years. I remember when Sam posted the modified NOOSE texture waaaay back when the download section was basically a storage space for lcpdfr. Now the download zone is full of impressive and amazingly detailed mods that prove how a community can come together and overcome limitations. Thank you to the devs who continue to pump out awesome mods, and to G17 for running things and keeping it all together. I can't wait to see what's coming.
  19. I personally use the pool cue as my baton. Perhaps an .ini to control the weapons used by cops at certain wanted levels. Also, if you feel like branching out, I'd recommend setting it so that cops give you a ticket at 1 star, arrest you at 2 (but shoot if you are holding a gun), and then act normal at 3 and above.
  20. Anything you do special to prevent it, or are you in some juicy sweet spot that makes GTA IV perform like it's been optomized?
  21. Since we're all here; For the people who run the major car packs without too much issuie, would you be willing to explain how (IE, what programs, data changes, commandl lines do you use)? I have a GTX 600ti 2gb but yet my textures are gone if my vehicles.img is over 140 mb, and that's using a commandline.txt and Cacheboost. Otherwise they disapear on their own.
  22. That is an amazing texture! Any chance of releasing it seperatly, maybe as a pack?
