  1. We do not provide any form of support for issues regarding LCPDFR until a new public release. Look though the knowledgebase and LCPDFR support section, it's very likely that your question has been asked before. Nothing to see here! This topic has been closed by G17 Media staff. If you feel that this topic has been closed in error, please report this post.
  2. You can't tell people to contact other users via PM like that, it's up to him if he wants him to PM him for help.
  3. Closed per request. Nothing to see here! This topic has been closed by G17 Media staff. If you feel that this topic has been closed in error, please report this post.

  5. Something like this is far more suited for a role playing community such as SA:MP or IV:MP than a single player mod. I would certainly recommend that you look into something like that instead of creating a mod for it.
  6. Everyone holds the rights to content they created themselves, there's no reason to "file for copyright", it's given that you hold the rights to content you created yourself. However, the problem aren't with copyright as such, it's with licensing, you don't have a license to release a model: Source Modders are in direct violation of trade licensing as they have not obtained any license agreements from the real-life manufacturers, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on when talking legal matters. Yes, you do hold copyright over the model you created, but you do not have a license from the license holder to release the model to the public: Source The modding community relies on good faith between the modders as well as a community that refuses to use mods that are stolen, they can't take legal action in any form. Photographers are also required to obtain a license if they are taking photographs on private property. It's more complicated than that though, you cannot take a photograph of a random stranger and sell it, you need to obtain a contract (license/permission) from anyone who is in the photograph. It's more complicated than that.
  7. Harper touched on this, but modding isn't as straight forward, at least not when we're using or creating models from the real world. Game developers such as Turn-10 (Forza motorsport series) spend a lot of money, time and effort into getting cars officially licensed, it's a long and difficult process involving many lawyers on both sides to ensure that either party aren't screwed over. Modders aren't licensing cars or equipment from the real-life manufacturers when they create models. Modders rely on the license holders to not act upon the license infringement. We can't take someone to court because we didn't create the content, we don't hold the license. Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Whelen, Federal Signal, Code3 and pretty much any company can contact the Community Team and ask us to remove their content and we would be legally obliged to do so (DMCA). Modders rely on each other to not screw them over. Police forces could also ask us to remove any mods depicting their agency, I recall reading about a US police force doing so to a GTA:SA mod. I assume that license holders haven't taken any action against the various modding communities because the work is free, modders aren't making any money from it, I'm sure they would be filing DMCA takedown requests if someone created car models(CVPI, Impalas) and charged money for them.
  8. Don't mark posts as "best answer" if the post didn't help you at all, it certainly shouldn't be a post where you ask for more help.

  11. The LAPD has a long history of misconduct, just read up on the Rodney King incident and the subsequent riots, the Rampart scandal. The CRASH team in GTA:SA was based on the real-life CRASH team in the LAPD, they even based the individual cops on those in the real-life CRASH. The LAPD wants to silence this guy, not bring him to justice. I don't see why this guy deserves to die more than the other "mass murders" in the US, they are being labelled as mentally ill. It's not "just" the LAPD. The Miami police uncovered several officers who disregarded 911 calls to conduct personal business while on the clock, the NYPD often comes under attack for similar things. It's a widespread problem, not localized to LA, however they seem to be the epicentre of the whole thing.
  12. I have heard similar stories from numerous other police departments in all sizes and all over the US, so I have no doubt that mr. Dorner is accurate in his description of the LAPD and how it operates. What I am worried about is how this matter will be dealt with in the press, it's very likely that he will be projected as a "crazed lunatic" on a "killing spree", they will not look into the manifest, instead assist the LAPD in the manhunt by changing the public's image into one favouring the police. It's also apparent that the LAPD is trying to get rid of Dorner, they already shot two innocent civilians whose only connection to Dorner is that they were in a vehicle that matched the one used by Dorner. The LAPD is out to kill Dorner, he will not come out of this alive. I can't not support his message, the LAPD needs to clean itself and remove all the bad apples, however I cannot support his actions. However it appears that he has "snapped" and are no longer mentally stable. I hope that we have seen the last death as a result of this case.
  13. You can't find a way to post in the LCPDFR support section because we aren't providing support until the next public release of the mod. Use the links in the post above. Nothing to see here! 14. What's the make and model of the laptop?
  15. You should be able to find the specifications from the place you purchased it, is it a desktop or laptop computer? Either way you can try and look for your model on the manufacturers website and link it to us in this thread.
  16. Traffic flow is nice to use in addition to another traffic fix as it adds responding AI emergency vehicles to the game, it adds more life to the city.
  17. Unfortunately we do not provide any support for LCPDFR until the next public release of the mod. It's very likely that you're not the only one who has experienced this bug, you can look though our knowledge base and LCPDFR support section, your answer might be there. Nothing to see here! 18. It's not surprising, I usually expect at least a six month delay with games like this due to the fact that there will be some issues during development, things always take longer than expected. I'd rather wait for a game that's as close to perfect as possible than get a game that isn't finished with a lot of bugs and issues.
  19. What are your computer specifications?
  20. The average day as a member of the community team.
  21. Please report any rule violations to the community team so we can deal with it instead of engaging in an argument.
  22. Are you using a cracked copy of the game?

  25. You're probably running the game in a 16:10 resolution (1680x1050 or 1920x1200), YouTube (and pretty much every tv source) is 16:9 (1280x720 and 1920x1080). You can edit the launch parameters and add "-windowed" at the end.
