Really?! That's actually new to me. I didn't use ELS when I first started but I remember having the street names, huh. My bad for giving false info. Sorry!! :)

Windows XP is unsafe, that explains why all of the computers at my High School are inundated with malware and viruses. XD. On a serious note, being an arrogant person won't get you very much help. As Break said, upgrading to Win7 or Win8 is about the only solution at this point. I had to update from XP to 7 because of compatibility issues with various other programmes and whatnot. The process may be a bit time consuming, but it will defenantly pay off. Backing up the things that you want to use right away is a quick way to get your rig up and running after freshly installing a new OS. I've done it on both my laptops and my desktop. Sometimes you just need to make sacrifices in order to do certain things. But like I said earlier, being a jagoff won't help you very much. It'll just make people want to troll you for being that way.

I will be playing tonight around 6:00 pm Eastern US time. My GFWL is CRAWFORDx96 so send me a message on here(lcpdfr.com) first so I know you're up to play then add me on GFWL. I have an NYPD car pack from GTA4-mods.com, just google nypd car pack and it should be the third one down, ELS v7, base GTA IV game, no EFLC, LCPDFR, Braveheart's Policing, that's about it. I played last night and my game style that I play is kind of relaxed, I like to take calls serious, but in between calls I'll just drive around looking for violations and just some general tomfoolery in between the calls, but I can be serious if need be. Note: If i were to play with a person(s), my rig can't run GTA IV above 15 fps during the day in game, so I usually freeze the in-game time at 23:00 (11:00) because I run around 20-30 fps then. I also have a mic. Sorry for so much info, but like I said, I'll be on around 6:00pm Eastern US time. Looking forward to going on patrol with some of you guys!

If you have LCPDFR installed it automatically shows the street names underneath the minimap.

You guys have some really sick looking desktops, mine is not nearly as good. But really nice backgrounds for your guys' rigs. My desktop.

Look in the numerous other threads about how to fix ELS problems. NicolaiB has a topic that explains how to make it work and everything.

So because you did something wrong you aren't impressed and were "forced" to give ELS v7 a 1 star rating? That is just a load of crap. Many people spent countless hours and days working on that to release it. Lt. Caine didn't force you to download ELS v7 or give it a 1 star rating. So instead of trying to change keybindings to try and fix it, you gave it a poor rating? That isn't right at all. Many other people have had the same problem(s) as you and figured them out by changing some options.

Well, like Break just said, if it still crashes and you don't have 2 ASI loaders, then it is an installation error on your part, not ELS v7's fault.

Well as for it crashing, I have one guess, how many .asi loaders do you have? If you have 2, xliveless.dll and dsound.dll, that might be the problem. I read over NicolaiB's thread again and he said that might be the problem. So double check you GTAIV root folder for those two files, xliveless.dll and dsound.dll. If you only have one and it still crashes, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Actually LOOK on the site for the proper topics that tell you how to get it to work. There are at least 2 that I know of, and they tell you exactly how to get it installed and get it working. Not trying to be a dick or sound like an asshole, but there are already topics for this.

I made this topic for people who are to lazy to read through the ReadMe that's included with ELS v7. Only reason I messed up installing this was because I was doing something else and not paying attention. But there are people out there who are too lazy to read the damn thing and they'll immediately post on here. @Break, I understand why you aren't going to pin this, and I completely agree, people need to take time and read some things every now and again.

Ok, so as I have just recently saw, and have fallen victim to myself, if you want to get ELS v7 to work, read this! I will make this short and to the point... You will need to put both ELS.asi and ELS.ini inside the root folder for GTAIV. You will also need to put the ELS folder that contains the file default_config.ini inside the root folder of GTAIV. Afteryou have these files inside the root folder of GTAIV, you must open up ELS.ini and change all of the things that say off to on under each car name, this enables ELS for your car(s). I hope that this has helped those who have been trying to get ELS v7 to work. Also, if a mod would like to pin this for the time being so that people can get help right away, feel free to do so. Again, I hope this has helped you all.

So yeah, it is kind of annoying, the fact that I changed all of the keys to what they weren't by default and set all the cars to on and it still doesn't work. Anyone find a fix yet?

I've had pursuits where I the guy will wreck and I'll get out to arrest him and he'll jack my cruiser and I'll have to take another guy's car. lol. But they do sometimes give up too easily.

For the ELS problem, DO YOU HAVE ELS.ini and ELS.asi? If not, that is the problem.

This will help you if you're not sure what to do.

What are your system specs and what graphics setting do you have the things set for?

Agreed. I have seen a car around here, I forget by whom, that has that lightbar on it, or a similar one, it's red and blue with the 2 orange lights instead of all red. But an Excursion would be nice, I would defenantly use it.

That is just plain scary. Glad to see that the one officer that was hit wasn't fatally hit by the sound of her voice. But that is just plain scary.

What are your system specs, what things do you have installed besides LCPDFR, like cars, ped skins, things like that. And is your game a legal purchased copy, if not, there is no help for pirated copies.

System Specs, installed mods (cars, guns, skins, sirens etc.) will help in the support process. Also, is your game a legal copy?
