  1. I understood that the .bak file is not necessary. Even if I just replace the .wtd and .wft files, the lightbar and interior are both still missing.
  2. Yeah, I did download the "TAKE TWO" version at the bottom of his post, yet I still have the same error. Is there another download that he posted that my eyes have missed?
  3. Yeah, I realized that afterwards while I was falling to the ground while greying-out. I'll remember to never jump off a ledge when a suicidal person is firing lethal shots at me....... :P
  4. Here is a picture of my problem. EDIT: It seems LCPDFR does not like the picture I uploaded. Well, the Charger was missing its lightbar, and the interior was completely missing. This problem was consistent in every car model I tried to replace.
  5. Well, I recently downloaded PFCBarefoot's 2012 Beta Dodge Charger, but it came with three files, as well as pictures and a readme: a .wtd file, a .wft file, and a .bak file. When I attempted to install the vehicle via SparkIV the usual way, (replace .wtd and .wft files of desired police vehicle), and ran the game, the model showed up in my police3 spot, yet the lightbar and interior details were missing. Even when installing it in a vanilla GTA IV car slot, the same thing happened. Does the .bak file have significance? Where do I need to put it, if so? Thanks for any answers. EDIT: I looked up .bak files, and they are apparently representing backup files. I will try reinstalling the mod again to see what happens.
  6. I agree with Ekalb in saying you should reduce your RAM to 8GB and upgrade your graphics card to a GTX 560 if you want to keep your budget. It is much easier and cheaper to add RAM in then replace a graphics card or even SLI. Your system would be a lot more balanced that way.
  7. Well, I try to always approach with a gun, because when I forget to, more likely than not the drivers start shooting me! That's also a reason why I always try to have a partner on patrol. Do you randomly approach with a gun, or do you approach with a gun only when they have, say, a warrant out for their arrest?
  8. Ok, thanks for the update. I'll be looking forward to it! I wasn't looking for a date, I just was wondering why you guys hadn't commented on how development was going for RC3, but the answer is already here. Thanks for the explanation, though. I can understand that everybody has their own lives apart from LCPDFR.
  9. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few fire truck mods available at GPM, should you choose to sift through things there. Here is a good one if you can stand FDLC textures instead of FDNY textures, but you can change them---> http://gtapolicemods.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=486
  10. Oh, I didn't know that, because I thought NB didn't own EFLC. Still, would it be possible to try out a session? EDIT: Never mind about the multiplayer. I reread the multiplayer group thread, and you state that you may be switching over temproarily to EFLC.
  11. Nice video! Was that lightiing mod you used a timecycle mod or a visualsettings edit? I found it kind of ironic how you had to kill an officer to attempt to arrest the suspect inside the vehicle, but then you had to kill the suspect because he pulled a shotgun on you! I was really surprised when you had to arrest one of your own, also, not to give any spoilers. Have you considered turning auto aim off? Even though I die more frequently without it, the shooting feels a lot better with free aim. On a different note, I noticed that both these videos were filmed on EFLC. Since I'm too lazy to buy GTA IV, and want to play LCPDFR multiplayer, I was considering resurrecting the old multiplayer group attempted by Avrohom a month ago. Would you be willing to attempt a test session before I start it? You're not obliged to, as you have the GTA IV group to run, also.
  12. Most "gaming computers" sold by big box retailers are always heavily bottlenecked by the GPU. The likes of ibuyPOWER and CyberPowerPC are a bit more balanced, but they are still bottlenecked. I initially was going to buy an iBuyPOWER PC, but then I realized that building a PC would be cheaper, and I would be able to get better parts. I would suggest Newegg or TigerDirect for buying PC parts online. If you are unable to build a PC, some retailers do have technicians that can build PCs for you, for an additional cost of ~$75. If you want to upgrade your PC, you must also remember that it voids your warranty for a ready-made computer.
  13. Here goes..... I'm probably going to get a lot of "flack" for this, but I was wondering if there will be any announcements about the status of 0.95 "stable" release. Don't get me wrong- I am thoroughly enjoying 0.95RC2 and all of its new features. LCPDFR where it stands right now could warrant its own game, or at least a large DLC pack, in my eyes. It's just that the "Home" page hasn't received any updates in a while, even though the forums seem to be more active than ever before, with both new members and the community team regularly online to discuss LCPDFR, and there have been some hints in the forum as to what will be in the next 0.95 version. The main precedent for posting this topic is that the suggestions forum has recently been closed down, which may be a hint that final touches are being made, but I don't know. I'm sure the whole team will surprise again with another superb version of LCPDFR. It just seems that the team has been quite "mum" about the next version. I'll just close this post off by saying that my question does not mean I am being impatient about the release- I, and probably everybody else, is thoroughly content with what is on offer right now. I'm just confused right now on the silence of the team regarding the next version; if I remember correctly, the wait for 0.95 was signified by a progress bar. I hope you take my thoughts into consideration, even though they may sound misguided.
  14. Yeah, the bug was really prevalent in RC1, but its tapered down in RC2, but it still happens when the "running" suspect has unlimited guns, and will still try to evade even after he is handcuffed.
  15. Haha, thanks. :P Truthfully, my PC was pretty low-budget- all of the parts cost $450, with a $100 Windows 7 OEM package tacked on. Anyways, I've posted a new patrol video with Cj24's Corvette! Since it's in the Stinger slot, though, its a nice magenta-purple color that gleams in the sun! It also has my commentary, which is still a work in progress. Any feedback is as always appreciated. Enjoy it!
  16. This is exactly what I'm looking for in seeing how multiplayer patrol is like! This video just makes me want to get vanilla GTA IV that much more.......
  17. I completely agree with you about your explanation of the graphics aspect of most computers. What I meant by "needing a Windows virtualizer" is that he would need to be able to boot both Windows and OSX on the same computer, not necessarily at the same time, though. Since Windows 7 already costs $150, and that's about 25% of what you would probably spend on a prospective desktop to play GTA IV, it's not really worth it. Also, in my experience, Windows seems to read less memory than you actually have. The bottom line here is that you will probably not be able to run the game at acceptable frame rates.
  18. Ah, I see now. They do get kind of repetitive, especially in the main area of Algonquin. I found it funny how it always seems to be the taxis that attempt to evade and give you a run for your money! How do you have so much traffic without the taxi bug? Do you use TrafficFlow/TrafficLoad?
  19. You know, I asked about pursuit random events being missing in RC1, and the developers responded saying they had taken that particular event out. A few weeks later, I got a random pursuit, which was pretty surprising in and of itself. What's strange is that I've never experienced a random pursuit since, and yet in the old 0.95 beta videos, they used to be quite frequent. I would really like this feature back, if it is possible to bring back. The frequency of domestic calls I think is supposed to make the game more realistic, as there are more domestic cases in real life than shootouts. I do wish that they included pursuit callouts in the normal automatic callouts, so I wouldn't need to force it, as well as the (bugged) drug deal callout. Other than that, I think the callouts are pretty balanced in comparison to real life, except that they don't occur very often anymore.
  20. Plus, you would need to use a Windows virtualizer to even be able to install the game, and that uses up a sum of memory. Trust me, a long time ago, when I first registered, I asked the same question, but the game utterly failed to run.
  21. I like this video! One question- why didn't you accept any callouts? The traffic stops in LCPDFR are engaging enough, but since you are FIB, I would think you would accept some. It doesn't matter anyways, since you are doing bigger projects! P.S.- I just filmed some video with a Corvette before reading this thread. What a coincidence! :P
  22. I like the drug deal callout the best now that it's fixed because it is so unpredictable in that it can turn into a foot pursuit, a shootout, a vehicle pursuit, or a combination of the above!
  23. 1) What is it like at the site of FIRST? 2) How big was your build team? 3) I understand this competition to be pretty massive, and the video detailing the event says that there are three main competitions for it. Could you describe what your task was? 4) How is it like working with engineers on the robot with your team? Did it ever get stressful? 5) Lastly, I understand that FIRST is very prestigious, yet I've never heard of it until recently. Is it a competition that's well-known in certain regions, or is it just something my community has never participated in, and it is national/international? Thanks for entertaining these questions!
  24. This new video was uploaded yesterday, but I'm posting it here today. It's just a funny video I filmed with a bunch of new modifications I hope to use in future videos. On a side note, does anybody know of a good tree modification to use that works with 1.0.7.0/1.1.2.0? Tell me what you think of the new graphics, also! Are they worth it?
  25. That was a very nice compilation of LCPDFR clips! There were quite a few funny moments in the video, but I'll point out one I could find at 29:00 with the drunk man. I like how you picked up the body armor. :P EDIT: When do you think your main project will be done?
