Ok, thanks for the answers. I am heavily considering getting fraps or some sort of paid recording software, but I'm hesitant only because I'm not sure if I will be able to commit to using the software frequently. Bandicam is $30, I think. Do you think FRAPS is best overall, or is there another paid/free software that is better than FRAPS?

EDIT: It is actually $39, and FRAPS is currently $37.

I think you should deffinitely do a commentary video. like molten said... who really cares what you sound like? its better than hearing only in game audio. But other than that, that was a great vid and i would seriously think about using fraps.... i was kinda hesitant on it but it turned out to work really good for me.

So what recording program did you use to make this video?

Mm, somehow it says "The file can harm your Computer" did that show up to yours? Ah.

No, it didn't say that for me. I checked to see if my monitor has a built-in microphone, but it sadly doesn't. I do have a spare webcam, though. Would that work for transmitting a voice-over?

I agree with Molten, who cares what you sound like. It is better with I have to admit. Which is why I started doing mine with commentary. believe me I definitely wont win commentary of the year at the academy. 8-)

From what I noticed around here though, is no one is going to judge someone by how they sound. This is a much better community then that.

This is a very nice video! I like it! I am looking forward to seeing more!

I expect to post a new video by Saturday to kick off a patrol series by me, but unfortunately, it will only have subtitles, due to the fact that I have to still find that old webcam and check if Bandicam detects it.

Sorry that I'm double posting, but is there a way to edit the title? I have more than one video now on here, so I would like to remove the "my first video" text on the title.

Well, I finally managed to get a new video up after a week, although it still only includes subtitles. I feel very squirmy about double-posting, again, so should I just make a new thread for new videos I would like to showcase here?

Gee, its pretty dead in here....... . Anyways, I have added a new video, and this time it has my commentary in it! Occasionally, though, especially in the beginning, the microphone will lower the recording volume as I speak. Also, wind noise is prevalent throughout the whole video. Another problem I've encountered is that the video uploads boxed-in....... Any solutions to these problems or general suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated, though.

On that note, I have noticed that nobody has posted for 2 weeks now. I'm sorry I'm sounding conceited, but I really can't keep on triple and quadruple posting every time I post a new video. I didn't make a post for the last video, and I'm only making a post this time because I think commentary is a pretty major addition to videos. I use your feedback to help improve my videos, and it is kind of disheartening to see no response here to my videos, even though I know at least some people care about them. I would post a new topic for every video, but I noticed that the moderators disapprove that, and I like having a centralized "hub" for videos. Well, that's the end of my rant. Sorry if I insulted anybody.

Thanks! I managed to fix that microphone problem, and I am uploading a new video to verify if my possible solution to making my videos fit the full size of the YouTube player works. I think it has something to do with Windows Live Movie Maker.
