  1. You may wish to look at this: http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/script-data-file-modification-tutorials/how-to-have-multiple-modded-copies-of-gta-iv-r37 Something I made a while back.
  2. Yeah, since I'm only using it for file storage and media files, I doubt my consumption will be high. Time to dig out my toolbox I think.
  3. Hi there guys, I had a go at this myself but came to a value which I thought was completely off so am asking here for some help. I've got a rig with Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise installed on it and the following specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 2GB DDR2 Ram Single Optical Drive 160GB IDE Hard drive 5200RPM 500GB SATA Hard drive 7200RPM No monitor or any other peripherals, I'm remoting in as needed. Can anyone work out the power consumption of this rig for me please (in watts)? It's only acting as a media/active directiory server with the odd temporary teamspeak/minecraft server. Thanks.
  4. Which text is it that you need to change? Send me a link to the page in a PM and I'll find out for you.
  5. You'd be better off editing the CSS rather than the template, since the template just handles the layout.
  6. That would be intentional when working on the g17media.com domain, however it shouldn't be like that on any other domain.
  7. I'll buy it off you! :P How's $23 sound Sam? Good huh? Also, the top left "G17 Media" link does not work on the page: http://www.lspdfr.com/
  8. A development showroom for presenting, discussing and releasing vehicle modifications. Surely that includes discussing the vehicles themselves?
  9. I've always used OpenIV to be honest. Never had a problem with it.
  10. Doesn't seem like that much of a "Tough" takedown if I'm honest.
  11. The OP is not asking if anyone wants it, they're asking who will do it for them....
  12. I really love building computers, and to make it so simple would take the fun out of it for me. I love the process of choosing my parts and then putting them all together, and then troubleshooting at the end. As odd as it seems, I even love doing my cable management. I definitely wouldn't be investing in a modular PC, that's for sure.
  13. Hey guys, do you like the new page that gets shown to the members that have been banned from my site? http://lestersmodcenter.com/403.shtml
  14. All I was doing was checking the brand of both the PSU and Ram since poor products would result in poor performance.
  15. Not necessarily, it can be coolant. Yes, it does matter. Buying a shitty power supply could result in your expensive gear being blown up in a power surge if the components inside aren't good. Trust me, I'm talking from experience here. You've come here asking for advice, yet seem to be complaining that I'm asking for specifics. I want to be sure that I give you a good answer but can't do that without specifics.
  16. You can play videos in a web browser, it's just that it's not permitted on the site since the code will not be embedded. Videos do now need to be played in windows. The only reason the "video" in the OP is played is because it's a .swf file and has been embedded in the post which has been allowed on the site.
  17. You need to be more specific about the make and models of both the PSU and the Ram.
  18. That's fair enough. There's no noticeable difference really, however when I ran tests with my rig, I noticed a 7 FPS drop in windows 8 when running heaven, and a 6 FPS drop in BF4. Sure, it's not noticeable, but it's still there. As well as that, I bloody hate windows 8's design, as you've said, the desktop version is okay, but I still prefer windows 7 for ease of use. My problem is that I don't really pay for windows software if you catch my drift, student budget's are fairly tight and so I'll just upgrade when I see some real bottlenecking take place.
  19. Oh yeah, I ended up going out and buying myself an UPS with built in surge protection. Wasn't going to make the same mistake twice lol.
  20. Agreed. I absolutely love Windows 7. Haha, after the experience I had with a budget PSU, I refuse to go near anything that isn't a big well known brand. I had a cheapo PSU in my first rig, and it took out $500 worth of components when it failed on me. Send a nice power surge through my PC. Fair enough if you guys trust them though. I personally don't.
  21. Hmmm... That's odd, I've got the X4 960T Black edition, with the GTX 560Ti Twin Frozr II and yet I can run BF4 on ultra with a decent FPS....
  22. Oh god. I thought this thread was dead along time ago.
  23. Also as has been said already, get whatever OS you like, I use windows 7 64x because I prefer it to windows 8. But when they release windows 8.2 get that. Because that will basically be windows 7 after it's had a facelift. :) I've also no experience of AMD stuff, but the build looks pretty damn good. Oh and the guy who said OCZ aren't reliable based on reviews. They are. I've had one in my custom rig since I first built it, it's been flawless. :) Oh.. Didn't see that he was only getting one stick of ram, should have picked up on that really. IMO, windows 7 is much better for gaming. According to a friend of mine that works at the local PC shop, they stopped stocking OCZ power supplies since every 1 in 2 of them was being returned within a month of purchase. Either they're really good, or they're really shit. It's kind of based on luck.
