[Developing] Eric Frein in custody.
Trooper Dickson's handcuffs were used to bring Frein into custody, sources told KDKA. The airport where Frein was taken into custody is about 20 miles from the Blooming Grove state trooper's barracks where he allegedly shot Dickson and Douglass. ... http://www.aol.com/article/2014/10/30/accused-cop-killer-eric-frein-captured-after-nearly-two-month-manhunt-pennsylvania-pocono-mountains/20986599/?icid=maing-grid7|aol20|dl1|sec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D555196

Laws on police vehicles?
Come to MI and it gets even stranger in regards to security. Some entities (mostly hospitals) have "arrest authority" licensed security. http://www.michigan.gov/mcoles/0,4607,7-229--147950--,00.html And a car photo for good measure.

Prepping for my CVBPI's Paintjob starting today.
Meh, I don't care that police auctioned cars are put back on the road, it's just when they get "dressed up" I start raising eyebrows.

Speeding Ticket Challenge - Super Speeders
http://youtu.be/2Yd88whKZ28 This video tells me everything I need to know about them. They're morons who'll risk their, and everybodies else's lives on the road, for film.(and presumably money.)

I applied to the Mishawaka Police Department Today!
No problem, I just didn't want to be lumped in as a bad guy. ETA: Not necessarily. There will probably be a time period though where one is prohibited from applying again however.

I applied to the Mishawaka Police Department Today!
Don't feed the tinfoily Candian troll folks, just ignore him. Anyway OP, are you certified under Indiana LE standards or will the agency train and certify you themselves? Up here in MI, very very few departments will train candidates, just the State of MI and Detroit PD run their own academies, and due to the economic downturn almost nobody is sponsoring people through academies(unless of course, they know you.) The onus is on people who want to get into LE to get and pay for the training themselves, which is in almost all cases is through local colleges.

Bring back the Crown Victoria!
I posted on the first page my thoughts on the Ford NGPI on the first page. I have serious doubts to longevity and cost of service/maintenance being better or the same as the Crown Victoria. Also, ever sat in one? The beltline for the car is way too high and the interior visibility sucks.
-
Bring back the Crown Victoria!
How? The factories that made them are sold, closed or demolished and the tooling and the assembly line components are gone as well.

Bring back the Crown Victoria!
Meh, Ford's Police Interceptor being better than the CVPI remains to be seen, and I'm a Ford guy. The FWD or AWD on the turbo models are expensive to fix and comparatively maintenance heavy. I have doubts with the longevity of the Turbos on the ecoboost.(long idle times, overheating, other hard use factors related to police use etc) All the cops I know around here bitch because the sedan is too small, with either interior space or trunk space. My Sheriff's department will not put them on the road due to interior size concerns with a cage installed. The CVPI may of been long in the tooth, but there was a reason they cornered the market. Cheap to fix, and easy to maintain. Lot's of available space. Durability of the modular V8, body on frame and RWD construction are all factors that they have over current offerings.

Bring back the Crown Victoria!
I've only ever owned Ford Panther platform cars, and I'll keep driving them as long as I can. That being said, they are never coming back. The name might eventually, but the car won't. The factories that made them and the tooling are all gone or sold. Blame the US Government, not Ford. With the ever increasing emissions and safety regulations, Ford could not squeeze any more life out of the Panthers.

Open Carry
I'm a little way north of Muskegon. But yeah, like I said, nobody is really bothered with firearms around here. I know of a few local LE officers that teach firearms and CPL classes on the side around here. We have very little violent crime around here.
-
Open Carry
Like I said, I've only OC'd a few times. The times I did it though, nobody paid any attention to me. I was even thanked once for carrying, which was kinda odd, but I digress. It helps though that I live in a rural, conservative area with a large gun culture and pro-2A law enforcement and officials.

Open Carry
MI is an open carry state. I don't generally do it, concealed is my preferred option. The few times I have done it was out of convenience more than anything else. That being said, I have no problem with it as long as it's done safety and smartly, and I support the right to do it. The folks who do it to get a rise out of people, or try to get into a confrontation with LE don't have my support however.

Do you think what this officer did was right?
This one's easy, 100% justified.

Law enforcement and eye impairments
Depends on the agency and the State requirements for a law enforcement officer. Here in MI for example, the standard for LEO certification is 20/20 correctable in both eyes. Also, if your eyes prevent you from getting a regular LE job, look into corrections jobs. Standards tend to be a tad easier, and their not as competitive.

BART Police Officer Killed by another Officer
Meh, all my knowledge and training with firearms tells me that AD's are extremely uncommon. Almost all cases of "misfires" are negligent discharges. My bet with the BART cops is that during the search one guy spooked the other and accidentally got shot.

Which gun..
CZ-75B or Browning Hi-Power. FWIW, my carry piece is a Mark II Hi-Power.
