Prepping for my CVBPI's Paintjob starting today.

Featured Replies

It's about 3 weeks or so away from the date I start painting my Crown Vic, can honestly say that I'm excited to see the turn out, as this will be my first paint job, I've put alot of blood & sweat into this car & I don't regret any of it, it done right by be for the last year I've owned it I've put almost 25,000KM onto it & no matter the repair, it was still good enough to me to allow me to drive it to the nearest repair shop, by the time she's restored hopefully by next year, she'll be pretty much new & will be used as a show vehicle during the summer months, my favorite colour is blue so she will be getting painted just that, this is the colour blue in the photo I want, any idea what shade of blue that is?

Don't forget to post pictures when you're done.

Man I really wish there's still some retired CVPI's to buy when I'm old enough to get a drivers license (Which is only 2-years left):yes:

By then probably the 2011's will be dirt cheap at auctions, or people will want a mint for them it can go both ways, since most people are too dumb to realize they aren't supercharged lol

That's true, and with that said, I'm hoping for the "dirt cheap" '11

There is a 2010 for sale down the road from my place that they are asking $8,000.00, goodluck.

Looks very nice slim jim, the outcome is sweet! It does kinda look like midnight blue. I had a 2002 CV, but I damaged it badly it in an accident, I was too lazy to fix it (mainly because it had some problems with the engine and made weird squeaking noises and constantly stopped working in the middle of the road, it caused someone to rear-end me pretty hard and made me smack into a guard rail, totaling it) so I just sold it to a scrap yard :P

I'd love to have an ex police CVPI. I don't see them a whole lot around my province, but I heard they're not expensive at auctions. Thinking about heading up to one and picking one up some time if I had the spare cash.

I dunno if it's the same where you are, but where I used to live in South Carolina, a street-gang drove those crown vics, jacked up on 44s, with childish ads on them (fruit loops, elmo, cookie monster, count chocula, ect.)

Check out Crown Assets, all over Canada selling every kind of marked or even unmarked Police Vehicle for CHEAP, I haven't seen a Crown Vic at an auction here for a while, but the Police do hold them themselves as well as your local towing company from Police Seizures etc..

What part of NB are you from?

Southern, I'm pretty sure they have the auctions in Moncton or Fredericton.

nice.  03 rims are my personal favorite but i do think they are better than most other rims. should look nice.

like they said, they will still be around since there are soooo many, but good luck getting the dough for a car right after you get your license. but start saving buddy!

yea that actually be even better since 2011 will naturally be in better shape then older crown vics.  plus some dept.s take better care of their vehicles or simple have better funding for doing so.  which is a plus for me since the local police dept. has a ton of $ and they just fully modernized their entire fleet maybe 3 yrs ago max. so while they are now slowly replacing the old cars with the new Fords, their crown vics will all be in great shape and (at for the officers) the have the latest equipment.
