Just EMT, New Jersey dosen't have EMT-B anymore. We dont have EMT-I any more. Its either your an EMT or Paramedic or Nurse. Just leaving now to go test ! See you guys in 3 hours or so !

Now that you've passed the real training begins!

I plan on taking the Paramedic Course Next Year in September, as I will be graduating High School this year ! Thats when the REAl training begins ! AHAH, I have been riding ofr a year now, so I am familiar with what happens on a ambulance call, but now I can run the show !

EMT in California since 2011. It's pretty sad out here. Non-911 transport starting pay is about $11 an hour with a $3 bonus per transport after 6 months. You usually do about 5-8 runs per day. Breaks down to about $14 per hour - With exposure to Hep A, B, C, HIV and lots of staph infections.  Starting pay if you're in the 911 system is about $15 per hour, but it requires 1 year experience.

 

Medic school costs about $12k and takes over a year. Starting pay in the 911 system is about $18 per hour.

 

Good luck going forward. Maybe NJ is a different economic model.

Well I am only 17 years old so I don't need to worry about that too much. I am doing EMT stuff asa VOLUNTEER ! But i did meet a guy in my EMT course who owns a Ambulance Transport service, who is willing to hire me for 15 dollars an hour ! Which is really good pay, considering my age and level of training.
