Uploads Not Going Through
I'm trying to upload a mod, but whenever I put a file into the downloads section, the site throws up an error saying there was a problem processing the file, and that I should contact the admins every time it reaches 100%, which makes the upload fail. Is something wrong with the servers, or is it something I did wrong/do I have a bad internet connection?

Detroit Police Radar Crown Victoria Livery
Right, let's list some inconsistencies: That damned .gif is a Crown Victoria, yes, but it's the wrong one. How are you supposed to appeal to the GTA V fanbase when you, of all people, put up the wrong gif? Why on earth is a new DPD Taurus on there? It doesn't even relate to this mod at all, and just seems very out of place and confusing.

Greater Liberty Police Area Car (WIP)
From the album: Hullian111's Gratuitous Misadventures
This also goes vroom vroom and whoop whoop. But it's slower, it's newer, and is probably going to be attacked by Greater Liberty's youths at some point during the night. Again, stay tuned for more...photos. Expect things that aren't LCPDFR because I can't run it.© Hullian111

Greater Liberty Police Motorway Response Unit (WIP)
From the album: Hullian111's Gratuitous Misadventures
Look at me, just look at me, I can screenshot now. With thanks to @tedious for providing me with a screenshot tool, but no thanks to TakeTwo for making me have to find alternate methods. So here's a hint for the future. The GLP motorway car. It goes vroom vroom and whoop whoop, what else is there to say? Stay tuned for more zoomers.© Hullian111

I'm not going to comment on the state of this texture, out of solidarity. But for the love of God, for those who have slow browsers and poor computers, please stop with the GIFs.

OpenIV discontinued | Take Two claims game modding "illegal"
So this'll be my last post for a while. OpenIV probably was at risk of being shut down by TTWO. The Liberty City mod, however, HASTENED this shut-down, in my opinion. There's reprecussions going around now. GTA V is being flooded with negative reviews. Major gaming news sites and YouTubers are covering this. And for now, we can still use OpenIV, but not for long. As a small-time GTA IV modder, I've been hit hard by this. OpenIV has a decent WFT viewer, but SparkIV doesn't. This means I can't preview textures without launching the game, making it harder to start analysing what went wrong and what went right, if I use SparkIV. It also means I can't take screenshots for my uploads, leaving them dead in the water if I want to keep within the rules. However, I am seeking alternatives. There are some crying violence, there are some panicking, and there are some blaming the devs. Honestly, now that I think of it, OpenIV were in the wrong. But as @Senatov said, we need a SparkIV for GTA V - something that keeps within the rules, doesn't get risky with their projects, and in all, just avoids GTA O and lets you install Ford Granadas in place of Staniers. (someone please make that) In all, now we wait for a solution. So everyone, while we wait for something like SparkIV, or some resolution, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.

Nerdcubed News video is my source. It's almost prophetic. (linked to time of story) Article in question, I'd read afterwards: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-04-24-red-dead-redemption-gta5-mod-shut-down-after-three-year-development

Just say NO to Take Two
Fun fact, the site is a bit borked on my end. I need Flash player to run something. I'm not doing that, no I'm not.

How to "still" mod GTA V | For you dense morons
Next time on 'Law and Order, GTAFU...' In all seriousness, that's the paranoia gone for now. Until the FSB start getting warrants. And the thing stops working altogether.

openiv alternatives
The problem is, while this isn't the right section, it's a hot topic, is the GTA IV modelling scene. If you can't take pictures in-game, you're only bet is to use OpenIV for screenshots to keep within site rules. Now that it's gone, I can't. SparkIV is still available, but the WFT viewer is crappy - sometimes it doesn't work, and even if it does, it does not show the livery at all, the camera angles are horrible, and the vehicle is down to it's lowest LOD. For GTA IV, then, is there such an alternative that has a good WFT viewer?

It was the GTA IV map mod. WHAT DID I TELL YOU?! After the Red Dead one, this should have been shelved.

OpenIV discontinued | Take Two claims game modding "illegal"
Currently on toilet in school right now - I've had a theory - if it is true, like the Red Dead map mod, this could have happened as a result of making the GTA IV map mod. Thoughts? This has been a tricky one.

OpenIV discontinued | Take Two claims game modding "illegal"
Well, I'm f*cked. Those nasty f*cks picked the wrong time to get rid of OpenIV. I'm right now in modding nirvana, it seems. I have two pages of mods that I ENJOY making, but the thing is, for some reason, my Windows 10 computer is unable to take screenshots in-game. I need to use OpenIV's WFT viewer for this, as you may find, so I can appease both the admins and the potential downloader. Sure, OpenIV likes to mess up my vehshare and my resident.rpf, but the thing is, I'm only modding for GTA IV, and I'm like the most active modder there right now. Sure, there may be some legal loophole in GTA IV, and sure, GTA V was a pain in the arse to mod, but my contributions here have been a pillar of my involvement in the modding community. The world's out to get me during these exam times, I'm sure of this. But this is the biggest blow to the GTA IV modding community since GTAPoliceMods shut down. I'm not updating my OpenIV out of fear, so I can't use that anymore. And SparkIV doesn't have a WFT viewer. Nobody really knows how much it has affected my corner of mods. But let me tell you something - for keeping within site rules, it is REALLY BAD.

Skin for gangrenns fdny ambulance
It's not good. First, get rid of that image now. That could fool people into downloading what they think is a top-notch FDNY skin. Also, the skin isn't nice at all. The roof markings are off-center, the text isn't in all-caps when it should be, the colour is sickening and makes the white text hard to read, and I really, really don't even know why you're trying New York City. That's a high bar you've barely even skimmed there.

GTAPoliceMods - The Shutdown Megathread
Its not nice having to come back to this thread. In fact, its quite sad having to come back to this thread in the first place. I've come to realise that we may have been forgotten about, us remaining few in the GTA IV modding community. Sure, GTA V is a greater (if you will, I literally can't play it) game for police modding, with bigger, lively worlds, but us minorities have stuck around through it all, on the long modding haul - I started, personally, back in 2013. Since then, however, drama has erupted in the modding community - KevinDV had a hissy fit and deleted his mods...and then randomly disappeared, two popular British pretty much hate each other, and the legality and opinion of modding is getting antsy. I could see why GTAPoliceMods would close down - as a site grows older, it becomes harder to maintain (didn't even work on mobile a few years back), but if less and less people come to the site, why bother maintaining and throwing the money into the memory hole? It is a similar reason why GTAGaming closed - maintenance. And most great sites may fall victim to this too. However, we could have been warned. I never saw any mention of impending closure of the site, mostly because I didn't go to the forums. But suddenly, one day in February 2017, we were greeted with an 'account suspended' screen. No final words, no sayonaras, nothing but an error screen. And obviously, you know what this means - everything is lost. We can't get the mods we want or need anymore because the site closed. Such a tragedy, if you will, and a sign of things to come. While I appreciate the circumstances, I do, however, wish it were not this way. Since I last saw the eternal doom, the site has changed - now, we are greeted with a '508 Resource Limit is Reached' error. And at the same time, HighSpeed-Gaming.com thought the fart was safe, and loudly sharted everywhere, and now it's down. So both sites, at the same time, have rather sequential errors. Are the servers still linked? Who knows - hopefully a form of backup there wasn't lost. So, to the reason as to why I came back to this thread. Once again, I need to vent. I currently have a mod I'm about to release which cannot be used by anyone who didn't download the original car before the site closed. It is another Merit mod, and it makes me feel guilty that many may not be able to actually use the mod. I'll still put it up, though, in the hopes an alternative can be found. The thing is, there probably won't be. I've got a bad feeling we've either been forgotten about, or we've had it witheld for reasons unknown. Either way, it makes me feel sad a little. At least, however, some are reuploading their mods here, however, we just need them all back. So here's what I think the site owners should do - open up the site to downloads only, and keeping the site frozen in time as it used to be before closure, like GTAGaming ended. I'm not pressuring in a way that there will be consequences, its just that we need the downloads back so the GTA IV modding community can survive for years to come. - Hullian111

GTA4Mods (GTAGaming) - The Shutdown Megathread
I'm sure some of you who regularly visited the site (and still try to now) will know this, but it appears a serious problem involving URLs for download files has appeared - access is denied to the downloads, as it appears the download URLs are incompatible with the new site. I've found some fixes, which you can find in the links for my Ranger mods, however, these only work intermittently for different download pages. I'm hoping this will be resolved soon.
